My 10 and 12 year old boys wanted to come back to this playground everyday. The vibrant and whimsical structures were great for their imaginations and age. Not an eyesore but an art installment in city center. Lots of school and local park playgrounds gear toward younger kids and toddlers. It was great to see my older kids engage so thoroughly. They were running, laughing and sweating up a storm in the blistering Boston summer. They were talking about how to work the water installments through collaboration, getting other kids in on the fun, too. Very nice job on this play structure install. Do kind of wish there was more shade for the parents and infants waiting at the banks. read more

Made famous on the internet for a cop going down the slide, while in town I had to try the slide for myself. Even in the middle of the night the park was busy with adults with the same thought process. I can report back that the slide is indeed scary, fast, and so so fun! read more

What a great experience and nice surprise. We were looking for a place for the kids to run and play after a long train ride - it was exactly what we were looking for and more. There were so many slides and equipment for the kids to climb and slide and jump. While there were a lot of people and kids, it didn't feel out of control, most people there seemed to be attentive. The playground area was a artificial spongey turf and definitely makes it safer for the kids when they topple over. LOL There were benches under trees for parents/guardians to sit while safely observing the kids play. When the sun shifts, it gets really hot in the summer. Bring an umbrella for shade if you aren't able to find a seat under a tree. The bonus we hadn't expected - the water part of the park. The Kids loved it!!! We will definitely be back when we are in the area. The kids didn't want to leave...luckily we were close to the Boston Market Place Hall where they could get a cool drink and a treat - that was the only way we could get them to leave this fun park. LOL Highly recommend! read more

If you haven't seen the viral video that has this long metal slide dubbed the "cop slide," definitely give it a watch. Usually this playground is for kids (not cops) and is complete with a rubbery soft ground. Some of the materials could be harsh, like lots of static coming from a metal slide and possible scrapes from the concrete. I found the area to be clean and safe. With City Hall directly in the center of Boston, this playground is walkable to all downtown staples from the North End to Boston Commons. read more

Such a fun area to walk around and watch the kids enjoy themselves and play. If you have children with you, this is a great place to let them burn off some energy. They have three different slides from a very small basic one to a much more advanced one where they will climb up through a rocketship and come out of the top into a looping slide ending at the bottom. There's also an interactive water area where children can play and learn at the same time. Plenty of areas to sit and enjoy yourself while the kids burn up the energy. read more

Was walking along and found this cute playground! It's innovative and clean. It was midweek so it wasn't too busy at all. Brought back great memories as a kid who would hang out with siblings at the local playground. I have to say, the stuff to play on is so much safer than back in the day!! lol read more

Great playground across public market/haymarket! After getting some fruit, we were glad to have a place for the kids to run around and for us adults to sit. There are a lot of pluses with it being near Boston Public Market, public restrooms are not too far. There's a water structure also that kids liked to play around with. This playground would be hard to watch two or more kids by yourself as it is pretty spread out. Some of the slides made me a little nervous as the stairs near it had a lot of sharp edges. There are parts that are foam/ rubber to help kids climb up. I noticed older kids(looked like teens/college students) enjoyed the longer metal slide! Overall great fun! read more

Who doesn't love a playground for their littles?? This park was meant to be built here. And in 2022, it was made to happen, yay! Everything the public needed! Walking the Freedom Trail, through Quincy Market, about Fanueil Hall can make a family just plain woozy! Now parents can rest while kids get to be kids for a few minutes. Then, when you're done, grab a bite and a beer just a block away at the Boston Public Market (BPM)! Public restrooms are available at Fanueil Hall in the basement and further inside Quincy Market. BPM has restrooms too but they require a lock code from a vendor that you visit honorably. The concrete slides could be a nod to the Brutalist architecture of the city hall, but... I am concerned that the ride will be brutal for anyone wearing short shorts, for accidental sideways sliders, and summer sliders. The best features are: + 100% accessible + Water feature in the summer + Lots of places for parents to sit + Kids will have fun! + Many playground things to do for all ages + Parents, mind the rules and age recommendations A few things that left me making a face: - the wide concrete slides... These gave my son a concrete burn when he touched his skin to it. Ouch! This was winter time when it happened. Can't exactly imagine how it will feel in the hot summer! - the poorly placed "path" that stretches across the park is at the bottom of three slides that send kids flying out. Strollers, tiny kids and anyone unsteady on your feet, beware! - my kid went up to the first platform of the huge slide. Decided of course to come down... It's a great slide but it took a lot of effort for me to retrieve him and I didn't feel safe doing it. Overall, it's great! Just remain cautious and share your concerns with the City in charge. read more

But the ice is so uneven. You can see concrete in some spots, with how some of the ice is so thin. You'll encounter a lot of folks that cannot stay vertical on skates, it's just the reality. Don't be surprised when someone behind you suddenly grabs you in desperation to prevent themselves from falling. Plus it's super crowded here during peak times.
