You're really only here for the location and that nebulous "romantic feel". The ice itself is atrocious, even though the rink (and I use that term lightly) does get a Zamboni out from time-to-time. But the ice is so uneven. You can see concrete in some spots, with how some of the ice is so thin. You'll encounter a lot of folks that cannot stay vertical on skates, it's just the reality. Don't be surprised when someone behind you suddenly grabs you in desperation to prevent themselves from falling. Plus it's super crowded here during peak times. There are so many other nearby spots of grab better and more affordable concessions, so don't fall for the ones here.

This is not your typical playground. There are multiple sections of the park, which make it great for exploring. You turn a corner and cross a bridge and you're in a new space with new features! In the lower section, there is a water garden with misting fountains turned on during the warmer months. There are plenty of benches for taking a rest or snack time among the well-maintained greenery. I'd say for kiddos under 2, maybe even 3, playing on the pirate ship and near the slides definitely needs close adult supervision. The plank up the hill to the ship is quite steep, as are the two slides on the other side of the park. Definitely worth the trek into Seaport with your little ones!

Flat course with mostly functional water fountains. There are often events at the hatch such as orchestra performances, free movie nights, and more. If you're looking for something to do on the weekend, look no further. The park is so big - you can listen to music or maybe even see a movie at the Hatch Shell, have a picnic, hangout on the dock, or even have a beer at Night Shift. Oh and if you have kids, there are a few different playgrounds. Let's not forget, it's super dog friendly. Oh and get your cameras ready for various birds and sometimes turtles in the lagoon.

Not an eyesore but an art installment in city center. Lots of school and local park playgrounds gear toward younger kids and toddlers. It was great to see my older kids engage so thoroughly. They were running, laughing and sweating up a storm in the blistering Boston summer. They were talking about how to work the water installments through collaboration, getting other kids in on the fun, too. Very nice job on this play structure install. Do kind of wish there was more shade for the parents and infants waiting at the banks.

Tonight after our dinner we enjoyed walking through here and Boston Public Gardens for a good 1.5 hrs catching up with our daughter. There was a growing crowd of happy people (families and children too) cheering the Iraq World Cup team who will play their first match tomorrow against Norway here in Boston. About a dozen Boston police were watching from the sidelines on their motorbikes and I prayed all would stay peaceful. Meanwhile, pedestrians, dog walkers, families were enjoying the fresh cool evening amidst the grandiose trees, lawns, ducks, fountains, and historic statues. If you're in the area, definitely stop by, and also check out the Boston Public Gardens, which are even more landscaped and welcoming!

To the west is Boston Public Garden, and to the North, on Beacon Street, is the Massachusetts State House and the start of the Freedom Trail. We walked through Boston Common a couple of times on our trip and saw The Embrace sculpture; Central Burying Ground; Parkman Plaza with the three bronze statues representing Learning, Industry, and Religion; and many, many grey squirrels. It is very nicely kept, has a cute little playground, and has plenty of places to sit and relax (in addition to the grassy areas). I have walked through this park countless times on my way to catch the T (it is next to the Tufts T stop), and when the weather is nice, it is a great place to take a quick break, catch some sun or eat your lunch. I often see many dog owners bringing their dogs here, although there is a small little, fenced-in dog park right around the corner. This park may be tiny, and lives in the shadow of the neighboring Boston Commons, but it really adds value to the neighborhood and is a wonderful little addition to the area.

They take such great care of it and it's a nice spot to take a break. Throughout the year, they hold various events at this park. My favorite is when Santa comes to town in his red helicopter. They also have a very cute "Tunnel of Love" during February. This park is very dog friendly and there are bathrooms nearby too - just right at the Marriott hotel. They have some outside or if you prefer, you can go inside the Marriott and go up the escalator. FYI, right now the escalator is out of order, but you can take the elevator up to the UL. Oh, and they have a Starbucks right inside too. Next time you're in the area, check the park out for yourselves.
