I put the belt and receipt in the bag and proceeded to drive around with it in my car until today when I finally had an off day, and drove to Guntersville to exchange the belt for the next size up. I found the belt he needed, and walked all over the store looking for someone to check me out. All of the registers were empty and not an employee to be found! I finally made my way over to the women's section and showed the girl the belt I needed, along with the smaller size belt in the bag, and my receipt. She said their exchange policy changed and I needed to return it by 8/16. Today is 8/23. I wasn't asking for a refund. I simply needed to exchange the belt for a larger size and was refused. The sales associate then asked if I would like to buy the larger belt. I kindly told her "no". As this belt was likely my last purchase there. Very poor customer service. Very disappointing. I have been a customer for years but they have gone downhill. Not the Belk from years ago. While I understand there needs to be a time frame on returns, especially clothing and things that are seasonal. But this was a leather belt. The store has been carrying the same ones for five years!

I was very disappointed with Belk in Guntersville, low on employees, no prices on anything and the store looked like a bomb had gone off. I've never ever seen a store in such a manner, you literally could NOT shop. The iles were blocked by ladders (plural) items, boxes and trolleys. Whoever is the store manager needs a prayer meeting asap. I had to pay for my coffee pot in the makeup dept as that was the only dept with anyone working.

I went back today after accepting a canceled appointment for a recheck. This is where it went down hill- quickly. I called to let them i was running late. It 2:40 the traffic is heavy and I live 5 miles and 10-15 stop lights away. As I rushed to get there i thought I made just in the Knick of time. WRONG. I was informed when I walked in at 2:57 that there's. A 15 minute grace period ( of which I wasn't informed ) and refused to the opportunity to get my prescription fixed. When I was offered an appointment that conflicted with my work schedule I was treated like a dog who bought an unwanted pest into the home. With disdain. When I requested a late date that better worked with my work schedule I got a huff and a sigh and AN EYE ROLL. Now I'm aware we live in Alabama but the Tide does roll THAT HARD. I work in the customer service industry and have for 22 years. That's unacceptable especially from a medical professional. Now I have to live with blurry vision increased ocular pressure and migraines for another week to a month. Never have I been treated more unkindly or made to feel so unwelcome in any establishment. Shame on you.

I already had a place in mind to go, but he wanted to try and steer me elsewhere. We made our way here shortly after they opened for the day. Parking was easy and finding the men's department was right inside the door. The thing was here, the selection kind of sucks. I easily did a once over of the department and couldn't find anything that would fit the bill. In fact, there wasn't anything dressy above a polo or Hawaiian shirt. I browsed a bit more and moved on to other areas of the store. My Dad had moved on right away and I found him in the toy section. I did find something while in here and made my way to the register. When I approached the register I thought I was approaching a hostile employee. Her affect was presenting as nonapproachable, but looks can be deceiving. She was pleasant and processed my transaction with ease.

Staff was really friendly upon entering shouting out a greeting from behind the counter, which they did repeatedly as others entered the store. Store is clean and organized, they were actually putting out some new stock when I came in. So they keep stock rotations going it would appear. Front of the store is set up with men's and women's apparel. The back of the store has more of the home goods stuff (art, kitchen ware, bathroom stuff, etc). Prices seemed to be pretty good as well. You can definitely get some good deals if you can find what you are looking for. As with any of the outlet type department stores, your luck can be a little hit or miss. But with ever changing inventory, you may come three or four times and not find anything, but could find exactly what you're after the next visit. Doesn't take long to shop through the store. I'd recommend them.
