We ordered our sofa, come to find out after it's on backorder. They scheduled for delivery may 14 then it changed to the 27th still no sofa. The automated stays says June then July then June and July and at one time giving a window of july-august then mid June and some pieces in July. I mean wth!!!! I was driving on DeNavarra Parkway in front of the Island Coast High School at 12:45 on May 6, 2025 and a huge box truck with City Furniture came zooming up behind me driving way over the speed limit. The truck swerved around me and was driving recklessly. The Florida license plate, which I pulled from my dash cam, is 36EUTW. The driver was driving incredibly dangerously in front of a school during school hours. The truck came close to rear ending me! That driver is an accident waiting to happen. I tried to call City Furniture but I got shunted into their IVR system and on hold. This is an honest review of my experience with City Furniture in Fort Myers. As a customer, I strongly advise anyone considering a purchase to look closely at why their reviews are so low. I had to learn the hard way, and the only reason I purchased from them in the first place was because my daughter fell in love with a bedroom set they had on display. From the start, the salesperson I worked with seemed distracted, dismissive, and more focused on his own agenda than on what I was asking for. I was prepared to spend up to $4,000 on the set, and I made it very clear that it had to be fully in stock and delivered in one day. My daughter lives alone, works full-time, and I did not want her dealing with multiple delivery attempts. I was assured that everything was in stock. Two days before delivery, the delivery team called -- and of course, several pieces were not in stock. I live out of state and was coordinating this for my daughter, so I immediately canceled and contacted the salesperson. He then claimed he had told me that the items weren't all in stock, which is absolutely untrue. On top of that, I discovered he had added a warranty I never approved and never even discussed with me. I escalated the issue to his manager, who actually listened and understood my concerns. Together, we found another bedroom set that was fully in stock, and she said she would communicate all of this to the same salesperson. I agreed to continue working with him because I believed in giving him the benefit of the doubt, especially around the holidays, and even told the manager he could keep the commission. But the next day, instead of sending me a quote for the correct set we discussed, he sent an invoice for the same out-of-stock set we had already canceled. When I pointed out the mistake, he ignored the message. I repeated myself and also emailed the manager -- who happened to be off for several days -- just in case he tried to charge me re-stocking fees. Then he sent me a message saying, "The order is done yet again!! It's correct and your daughter is aware of what's going on. From now on, she will be the one talking to you." He completely went around the agreement I had with the manager, bypassed me, and pretended everything was resolved when it wasn't. I contacted the store again, explained the entire situation to a young man who actually listened, and with the help of another manager, the issue was finally resolved correctly -- within minutes. But none of this should have escalated the way it did. This entire experience was stressful, unnecessary, and avoidable, and it reinforces why their reviews are so low. I am very disappointed in City furniture in Fort Myers Fl off of Alico Ave. My husband and I ordered a sofa sleeper a month ago. They said it was going to be delivered on February 4 to a new house that we purchased without furniture. I called to verify that they were going to deliver it and they said it was delayed. I would not have known that it is not going to be delivered until the 28 th of February had I not called. so we will be without furniture for almost a month. You sell insurance policies/ stain removal policies but you do not honor them The so called tech notion you sent out to remove stain from rug was done idiot with a spray bottle and a rag. So finally the table top comes and it's cracked.Delivery guys couldn't help. We called city furniture and can you believe they were going to send someone to fix it. Buyer Beware - Nice Furniture, Horrible Service I had a very disappointing experience with City Furniture. While the furniture itself looks nice, the customer service was extremely poor from start to finish. First, the sales rep tried to upsell us by pushing a motorized couch but failed to clearly price out the motor until we specifically asked for the full cost. Then, instead of ordering the modular couch we had selected, the sales associate mistakenly ordered a full couch - which was not what we wanted. To make matters worse, we were never told how important it was to confirm a follow-up email - an email that can easily end up in your spam folder. If you don't confirm it, they won't deliver your couch, and the responsibility apparently falls entirely on the customer. No one at the store made this clear to us. Eventually, we were told the couch would not arrive for another 10 days, thus we had to cancel the entire order as we could not wait that long which was part of the reason we purchased at City Furniture. It also seems that the salespeople work strictly on commission, which might explain the aggressive upselling and lack of attention to detail once the sale is made. They're happy to take your money, but the follow-through is shockingly bad. Unless you're prepared to double-check every detail yourself and chase down your own delivery, I'd recommend shopping elsewhere. read more

Buyer beware! I have tried to return one of middle piece of a sectionals. Spoke to our saleswoman and to the designer I met with. Both said to submit a claim. Did submit a City Furniture Claim on Monday. The web site said response time was 48 hour which came and went. separately the dDesigner said she'd have something to me "probably" by Tuesday evening (3 days). I said looking forward to that. Tuesday evening came and went. Tried emailing designer on Wednesday for update. I sent an email on Thursday and expressed my frustration on not getting a response to my claim and explained that I had 3 weeks to complete project, and I would try to contact a store manager to see if they could assist in the return. No response to date. So I actually drove to the Store on Friday afternoon to see a store manager. I met with a gentleman by the name of new to Ft Myers store, and Explained the situation and he called the customer care team and spoke to a supervisor. Unfortunately because the item was not damaged and I accepted it, it "cannot be returned ". All sales are final. I said that the sales person and designer were very good but no one said that there were no returns. Argh. I expressed my displeasure and said we had planned to purchase additional items but the return policy will require us to reconsider where purchases would be made. The delivery guys did not have the kit and we let the customer service person know this when the delivery guys were still here. He claimed he would have the kit shipped to our house. I recently went into this store location ( off Alico ) with My daughter and we purchased 4 Counter height Bar stools August 15th 2024. I received the chairs the following Saturday the 17th, and one was defective. The delivery driver called the store and also took a picture of the defect and forwarded it to the store. I was told they would call me back to set up a time to have a tech look at the chair to maybe fix it, (what?) One Monday they sent a tech out to try to repair the chair defect and the tech said it wasn't repairable and took photos and called his supervisor and I spoke with them over the phone and they agreed to swap out chair. Now Tuesday 20 August, I call to see when I could get the new chair delivered and the defective one picked up and I'm told they will not offer a new chair that I could have a store credit for less then the value to replace the chair? I refused the store credit, I bought four matching chairs for a reason I needed 4 chairs, not three. I was told basically take it or leave it. Unacceptable Business practices. Bought dining chairs and a bed/mattress in 2 separate deliveries. First delivery of chairs, they knocked over a table and broke a vase. Never got the slightest apology. Plastic covering stuffed behind our bushes. A few day later we noticed a stain on a chair we had not yet used. Tried to get some help. Emailed salesman twice with no response. Was on hold and never got to customer service. Left my number , but no one called. Finally called and got a salesperson who was helpful. Second delivery was bed and mattress. Delivery staff was great, but big problems. Height of bed with foundation was very high and covered most of headboard. Didn't look at all like it did in the showroom. Customer service called and asked us to inspect and indicate delivery acceptance. Delivery person said we didn't need a foundation. I told person on the phone how the salesman, when we were looking at mattresses, told us we needed a foundation. I told him the bed on display did not look like it had a foundation. He told me it was "hidden" underneath. I told this story to the person on the phone and she just kept asking me what i would accept or not accept. I said I needed someone to advise me on the need for a foundation. She kept repeating her question. I looked at the foundation and it was damaged, so I told her I did not accept the foundation. I then emailed the salesperson, no answer and went through the same frustrating process as with the chairs. I have never had such a bad customer experience.They really need a major revamp of everything from the sales staff knowledge and responsiveness, to their terrible customer care department. Also, how does damaged furniture get out for delivery? The first deliverymen for the chairs were horrible. I have read reviews from other customers and many are terrible. If anyone in my community ever asks me for recommendations on furniture stores, I will tell them to stay away from City Furniture. read more

We ordered a Sonoma entertainment center at regular price of 3199 received it and there was probably like 10 defects. The lights didn't work doors in it shut molding wasn't even attached. Needless to say after couple phone calls, they did a total exchange because they wanted to send a repair man out here or pair. Man wasn't going to fix it. They weren't gonna put silicone in the molding. I didn't pay that much money for that so they did that now we ordered a credential, the credenza that was delivered is white it says it's ivory, but it's white but the fact is this is not the one that was one one we picked out from showroom. The one that was on the showroom was weathered. This is white. I have a picture of both of them and they're telling me that I guess I am my eyesight not right.. the customer service gentleman was even telling me it's the lighting it's lighting that we have in our show rooms. No, these are two different items two different credenzas and I'm not happy and so he told me all I can do is an exchange and so they're gonna send me out another ivory one now this is August now we're in 1 September I won't get that one until January. I told my husband, let's load this up in the back of our truck and take it to city furniture this is not the one that we ordered ! Not very happy Customer and they seem to not want to do anything or help anything I'm willing to buy the one that was on the showroom floor because supposedly they've discontinued these credenza so the one that's on the showroom floor is weathered. It is not a solid color like the ones that I have here the one that I have here the knobs are more gold. The one that was on the showroom floor were more brass , needless to say they need to fix this. I would never buy from city furniture again. Our purchase of a so-called marble table turned out to be (as attested by an expert in the field) cultured marble which means resin containing marble dust. We were informed that damage to this surface would not be repairable. None of this information was available from City Furniture aside from a card claiming that this is a natural stone product. Carefully skirting around truthfulness seems to be a major component of this chain's sales approach and their customer service is dismal. As the song goes We won't be fooled again! read more

I only purchased a sectional because we were sold on the in home warranty policy.. we were specifically concerned about pilling because of the low quality furniture that city furniture sells, but we assured that it was covered under the warranty so against her better judgment, we bought from city. Fast forward two years and I tried to put in a claim for the warranty and was told that pilling isn't covered under the warranty. Don't buy from here spend a little bit more somewhere else for quality, better customer service and honesty. So now I'm stuck with a sectional that's pilled after really 1 year. The warranty specifically states watermarks on wood, fabric and leather will be covered but they are denying my claim based on the fact that watermarks apply only to wood. Almost a year ago Oct 2021 I paid cash upfront for a Morgan Couch and matching ottoman with steel legs . In May 2021 the ottoman arrived but still no couch. When July 22 2921 came around and still no couch I asked my salesperson to cancel the order and refund my couch and return my ottoman for refund also. It is now Aug 16 and I have received no refund. When I call to speak to a supervisor, the associate says they are busy. Then they check my account and say a check was mailed out July 22. Still no refund .
