Cost was a big factor for me because of distance so I requested quotes from all major moving companies in the area and the rates that Andrew offered me are definitely the most competitive. CHPM is transparent and honest with their pricing. I was only charged for the services that were rendered. After all my bill ended up below what I was originally quoted for! The staff are very professional, friendly, timely, and accommodating! All of my items were delivered safely without problem (nothing was broken or damaged). I had very positive experience with this company. From the moment we negotiated an agreement to several days after the move was completed I have faced great level of professionalism from both movers and the owner (Andrew). The move itself was complicated as we had to move my future landlord first to her new apartment and then me. Everything was on time and we did it in one (long) day. We struck gold with these guys. I called same day for help with unloading two trailers and moving some appliances. They were able to accommodate me at a reasonable rate. The team lead, Mario, showed up a little early and we walked through all the things that needed to be shifted. Mario was exactly the right kind of charming; personable and polite, and genuinely willing to help. The team worked quickly, safely, and efficiently and were plesnt to have around. Even better, they we're respectful with the items they moved, many pieces were hand made by my father. After the fact, dad commented that the guys were the first movers who hadn't damaged their property in the 3+ moves they have made since 2015. I hired City Hound movers last month to move from Fairfax to Reston. The booking process was smooth and Andrew (owner) gave me an overall estimate for the job which was quite helpful! The price of the truck was included in the overall quote. We got the afternoon slot on a Saturday. I was a bit concerned since the two gentlemen who were assigned to help us move had to work on another job in the morning before coming to our place. However, Andrew assured full commitment without compromise on quality of service. The movers arrived at the Fairfax location about 45 mins late due to the delay in wrapping up the morning job. However, both Andrew and the movers kept us informed about the delay and showed up at 3 pm as per the ETA provided. The two gentlemen, Brian and Juan, were profession, courteous and cautious during the entire moving process. They literally climbed up and down the stairs (3rd floor!) for 3 hrs non-stop. There was no slack time whatsoever. We were amazed to witness the energy, dedication and hard work these guys put it. Brian was really good with self motivating himself and Juan with his profound sense of humor during the physically strenuous job. In total it took about 6 hours for them to complete our move, including transportation/travel to Reston. After the move was completed, Andrew called me and mentioned the amount I owed. I was pretty impressed by his honestly with respect to the overall time spent. Special shoutout to Brian and Juan for the hard work. Brian kept humming the superman theme song while lifting those heavy boxes down the stairs. I guess that was the secret to his uninterrupted energy supply! :) Good experience overall. I'm 6 months pregnant and unable to move anything heavy, so I hired City Hound Professional Movers to help move furniture within my house (pub table from dining room to basement, old sectional from living room to outdoor deck area, a dresser from one bedroom to the bedroom next to it and a sectional from the master bedroom to the living room). No vehicle necessary. I appreciate that they answered the phone right away and were able to squeeze me in the same day. I was told they would be there at 5pm, which is the time that I would be back home. I received a phone call from the owner at 3:38pm letting me know that his 2 guys would be there in about 30 mins. That is way before 5pm. I let him know that I was out, but would do my best to get home earlier. His movers called me 2x at 4:11pm, then texted me a photo of my front door to let me know they were there (I found that odd). I kindly reminded them that we agreed for 5pm and that I would be there as soon as I can. I arrived home at 4:37pm and they began moving my items right away. They finished moving all of my things at 5:15pm. Even though they were here for less than an hour, they have a 2 hour min (which I knew about) and was charged $155 total. The odd thing is that I found them on craiglist and their ad states it's 65/hour for a 2 man team, so I should've only been charged $130 total. I didn't appreciate the dishonesty, but ultimately just wanted my furniture moved to accommodate new furniture that's being delivered the very next day. If I wasn't in such a time crunch, I would've called around to get estimates from other movers. read more

He helped my husband disassemble & rebuild our king size bad, carry 2 really tall closets, large R shape sofa etc' No dents or scratches on the hallway walls or the apartment itself. Can I just say white glove service without the price. I called Andrew the first time and in under an hour he was back to me with his flat fee no hassle pricing . On the scheduled day Andrew arrived to make sure everything was in order. I helped my friend by donating some items to her, for her new place, but she didn't have a way to get it there & since I didn't have any way to get it to her I decided to look up movers in the area that would be available last min. and also be budget friendly. I was able to come on yelp and do some quick quotes and check for all their availability and that's when I came across City Hound! They were not only able to schedule me in last min., but they were also very reasonable!! So, it was a no brainer for me... The day of they arrived within the time frame given, they were prepared, motivated (fast), as well as very polite and professional. They also included all of the wrapping (blankets, cling wrap, tape). Nothing was damaged during the loading process & it all arrived safely. The amount quoted was definitely on point. They also have other services as well such as moving the items from one location to another (local or long distance), packing services, & storage, I believe they also remove bulk trash. I chose City Hound for a local move (Herndon to Arlington for a 1 BR apartment) after a recommendation from a coworker, reading Yelp reviews of multiple moving companies, and getting a few quotes. They have reasonable prices compared to others, were able to arrange everything through Yelp messaging (didn't need a phone call to provide more details), gave me a price estimate and expected time of arrival in the first response (1-hour window), responded quickly to my messages, and were willing to help me assemble a TV too on arrival. The movers were efficient, did some wrapping of my furniture to protect it from scratches, and were friendly. It wasn't perfect, but the issues were minor. They needed a doorstop but didn't bring any so the movers decided to use whatever was around (for example, one of my sandals) without asking if it was okay first. They should just bring a doorstop with them instead. Also, they flipped my ironing table and put it on the floor so had to clean the top of my ironing table. Regardless, would certainly recommend them and use them again. read more

The guys who showed up were great but they had no tools to dismantle furniture(I had asked ahead of time to be due) no carts no dollies (again asked to be sure) no tape etc They got it all stuffed into my moving vehicle but I had to repack as it was not efficient or best use of space. Do NOT use them. Spend the extra dime upfront to get other movers. It will be worth it in the end. They were unreliable and late which caused a domino effect of disasters for us. We would have been better off doing everything ourselves. I'm still waiting for my broken item to be replaced which they tried to say wasn't their fault because it happened on the drive over and not while they were moving the item. Smh. I call bullshit on these 5 star reviews, they are likely paid or bought reviews. Frst of all it is against human nature for ALL reviews to be 5 stars -particularly for a moving company. Second, through personal experience I saw none of the positive qualities mentioned. It was the exact opposite. There was no confirmation of the scheduled appointment, it took multiple texts to reserve and confirm or to get any response at all. On the day of the move they were 1 hour late due to "rain", I live in New England and have never had trouble negotiating "rain". They took several hours longer than it should have taken for a simple move and lastly they did not bring ANY tools with them! What movers show up without tools to take apart furniture. They had to go out and buy tools?! Since we moved our belongings to a storage locker we were not able to assess damage until we moved back to an apartment a few days later and the amount of damage was astounding - broke a cat tree, boxes damaged with interior content damaged, and best of all the hardware to put the bed back together was GONE so we were unable to put the bed back together. Truly the worst service experience ever and we have moved MANY times. The owner was less than apologetic and basically blamed us and just about anything else he could blame other than just apologize for poor service. Please avoid these movers - there are more cost effective movers with much better service. read more

I hired 2 moving helpers from City Hound load and unload a 1 bedroom apartment using a truck I rented. They were prompt, efficient, strong, and friendly. The truck was expertly packed such that no items shifted during transit. They handled our items with care and nothing was damaged. The unloading was completed 30 minutes ahead of time thanks to their efforts, so I asked if they would be interested in helping to move a piano from our basement to our carport for an additional fee. They were kind enough to oblige this request, even after having moved a different piano as part of the "regular" job. Yes, they moved two pianos for us! I would recommend them to anyone. They made a difficult job look easy, and did it all with a friendly attitude. Hiring them is some of the best money I have ever spent. I will definitely contact them for future moves. read more

I did a 7 hour move and it went very smoothly. I needed them to transfer me to one apartment to another then also to a storage unit. They took their time and wrapped stuff and removed the glass and dissembled the furniture. They did a great job and Andrew was quick to answer my questions and even check in on me to make sure things were running smoothly. At first they thought my couch wouldn't fit but Andrew quickly solved the problem for me. Overall my experience was great I didn't lift a finger and everything was taken care off. read more
