I'm having trouble finding the right words to describe our experience with Potomac Moving Company, but "amazing" and "game changers" come to mind. This was an interstate move (DC to PA) in less-than-ideal conditions (we had to move an adult family member out of the apartment). The crew, Roberto and Harry, were empathetic, caring, and incredibly efficient with packing, loading, and unloading the one-bedroom apartment. I spent the day worrying (needlessly) that the storage unit I had rented was too small. The crew fit all of the items neatly and safely into a 5x10' unit with room to spare. I've never seen anything like it. I also want to give kudos to the front office. They were the first company to respond to my inquiry, answered all of my questions patiently, and kept us informed about when the crew was arriving. The value that we received for the price was off the charts. Put Potomac Moving Company at the top of your list. I would not hesitate to call them again for a move if the need arose. read more

Submitted a request for a quote via Yelp, In addition to filling out a form, they also asked to fill out a separate form on their website with the same exact information + phone number. Was extremely hesitant to submit this as im not sure why so much private info is necessary to get a free quote. On the forms, I had submitted three potential dates for the move date. Got an email response from them that they dont have availability on one day but then they didnt give any info on the other two days. They also didnt provide any pricing details which wasnt helpful. I responded instantly about the other dates and they just disappeared. Since I did not hear back, I went back to the initial Yelp chat to ask about the dates and pricing (for the third time). Got no response there either. What a complete waste of time. TLDR: Submitted two forms and inquiries on two separate platforms and all I got was a lazy response. Jeynar, Geraldo, and Jairo showed up on time, were very kind and professional and they worked hard climbing 3 flights of stairs plus 2 additional stairs in my apartment to move me out. They disassembled all my furniture and reassembled everything carefully and even put it exactly where I wanted it. This move, by far, was the best! Fantastic cross-country move with Potomac! From Virginia to Massachusetts. Everything packed with incredible care, and the guys HUSTLED to move everything as quickly as possible. They also (miraculously!) fit everything onto one truck. Potomac was very helpful in providing options if a second truck was needed, but thankfully everything fit into one. Their responses were quiet and detailed. Scheduling the movers easy. The movers were even 15 minutes early to the movie. The three gentleman were efficient and kind. Honest man who I would wholeheartedly trust with my belongings. They worked extremely hard and did a great job. In total spent about a 1150 but to me was a worth wild price. Now that I arrived at my new home, I see that things were packed incorrectly. No bubble wrap on glass frames, TV or glass decor. Two glass frames broke. They didn't check liquids inside any of what they packed. They packed liquid BBQ starter which leaked on a box and ruined what was in it. They also charged to move from Occoquan to Alexandria almost the same thing as what I was charged by another company to move my things to FL. It's not worth the money read more
