Love this part of the island!

So this pretty much is one of the most legit places in the city as it's just mellow here no matter what time of year it is! City island has been my go to place to just chill and let my mind recalculate itself at times over the past year that I've lived in the area as it's beautiful here like you get a mix of the river a bit of the city and the just all around peacefulness of a secluded park that's in the city well you get that in the dead of winter when it's super cold and there's pretty much no one here but me! Like there's alot to do here from a baseball stadium at once side to some random food trucks on the other with a park in between it all and several benches to chill and enjoy the river and the city at. Some of my best times living here have been here from that one incredible first visit to my last one yesterday where it was good bye. I've spent a great deal of time here over the last year and it really has been an amazing place that I will forever remember! Overall I'm going to miss coming here randomly especially in those crazy rain storms who know when I'll get here again but I can almost guarantee that I'll be back at some point when I come back to visit the chocolate park.

Home of the Harrisburg Senator's baseball field FNB Field, also the river boat tours during the summer season, and a Minigolf. There are city views at the northern end by the HarrisburgBeach Club and a playground.

One of my favorite spots in Harrisburg. A quaint oasis with picnic arrears and great views, great for walking and lots of fun for the kids during the warmer months.

From Double A Baseball to a beach on the Susquehanna a Miniature Train and Water Golf there is an arcade and during the nicer weather there is a little village that has some shops and refreshments!

Dauphin County Parks & Recreation hosted a free community movie night with a Drive-In Double…read moreFeature on City Island, and it was such a fun and festive way to spend a Friday evening in December. They set up a large inflatable projection screen mounted on a flatbed truck, which was impressive and worked great. The movie lineup was spot-on for the season: the animated How the Grinch Stole Christmas, followed by the classic Santa Claus Is Coming to Town. Cozy, nostalgic, and perfect for all ages. Parking was easy thanks to a huge lot, and there were plenty of friendly staff members on hand helping park cars so everyone had a good view and answering questions along the way. About 50 cars showed up, which was really cool to see--especially on a chilly December night. Audio was simple and seamless: just tune your car's FM radio to the designated station and enjoy the movie sound from the comfort of your vehicle. They also had a concession table, which was a fun bonus. The first concession item was free, and everything after that was just $1. I happily handed over $20, grabbed a bag of peanut M&Ms, and retreated to my warm car. Pro tip: grab take-out dinner on the way and have a picnic in the car while watching the movie. That's exactly what I did--and that's exactly what I'll do every single time. Overall, this was a super cool, completely free, and family-friendly way to spend a Friday night in December. Huge kudos to Dauphin County Parks & Recreation for creating such a thoughtful community event. Highly recommend!
