Well, I have a mixed review. They have their strong points and their weak points. Initially when…read morelooking for a place, it took 3-5 days and me calling back several times to get someone to call me back and set up an appointment to see the rental properties. We qualified under their terms and then put our money down for a place. They said we were approved on their end but then the owner came back and disapproved us. They never said on what grounds this decision was based. They did explain that ultimately, the owner decides. Then, Keith worked diligently with me to include texting and calling me back late in the evenings to accommodate seeing the other properties until we finally found one. What I don't understand is the following: Why requests to see a property like some others on Zillow do not have appointments we can schedule ourselves on availability. Why they wont let us put our deposit down on a home we have not seen if we know we want that home. Its cash money people haha. Lastly, when we finally found a place we wanted. they sent our documents via email which is great. I wanted to clarify something in the lease in writing but the docusign does not allow that. Since we are 2 signers, they would not accept a pdf with the added language. I was finally able to get something via email confirmation to the lease and use docusign. Another issue we had was that the home did not have a garbage disposal. They said the owner would not allow us to put one in and pay for any maintenance. Not sure why?? Makes no sense to me. These should be negotiable items. So far, I found the ladies in the office to be very pleasant. That's definitely a feather in their cap. Will update once we move in and state whether the carpets were cleaned well and the minor fixes were done.

Horrible! And I have rented from many different people/groups over the years. I was offered a free…read moreradon test from the American Lung Assoc and discovered radon level 27. Company took months to get someone out to fix, never followed up and when I purchased my own test to retest, discovered it was still high. Notified the office that I was moving and they told me I would still have to pay for a 60 day notice which I did. Then they kept my entire security deposit and sent me a bill for almost $1000 for the most ridiculous list of things like cleaning the ceiling fan (there was only one), sweeping the garage, fixing a microwave door handle (for over $150) and stovetop burner - which wasn't broken when i moved out. Suffice to say, I spent 8 hours on the last day in my empty townhouse cleaning! Do yourself a favor and don't rent from this big corporation of disgruntled employees who don't care about anything or anyone. Look into a small town group like Hostetter Realty (great group) or a private homeowner.

Since moving in (early June 2019) I have had horrible communication with my property manager in regards to move-in maintenance issues and pest control. I sent an email to corporate regarding all my concerns, and I have yet to receive any information. The only thing I did receive was a text message from my property manager stating that corporate forwarded him the email and that it looks like I had a long list of concerns. And that was it... I didn't get a date to set for pest control when new window installation would be, or if he will step in to discuss noise levels with other residents. I'm sort of left handing and very frustrated. I keep on playing phone tag with them all and have yet to receive any information. I spoke to other tenants in my complex and it seems to be a constant theme with the team. I had a long conversation with a representative at headquarters and she just stated that she will reach out to my property manager once more. Seems like a big run around. I personally regret leasing with them and do not feel safe for both personal and health standards.

We were having to boil our own water for showers and our eyes were itchy and watery from the sewage fumes. I was calling daily 2-3 times a day trying to get them to repair the issues. They rarely respond and good luck getting anything fixed. Terrible, terrible slumlords. We eventually had to call the city and a lawyer. Our rental was condemned and we were put into a hotel. Thankfully, the owners of the property have dropped Slatehouse, who apparently were not communicating the extent or urgency of issues with them either. There is NO reason the owner should even have to approve an emergency repair like a broken hot water heater in winter or raw sewage floods! THERE ARE HUMANS OCCUPYING THE PROPERTY and it is inhumane to not make emergency repairs. Make the repair and bill the owner. Stay far far away from any Slatehouse rentals.
