We came here to upgrade a very old bed to something that would fit us both better. My husband purchased the one we had some years ago and it was fatigued beyond repair. We came right after opening on a Saturday and the floor was pretty quiet. We looked at one of the styles that we thought we wanted but weren't settled. We were being helped by Kurt who was able to show us some other products that were well within our price range. We ended up liking the latex beds by pranasleep and purchased it that day. They have financing available and we ended up being able to get our bed added into that day's shipment without excess cost. We also got a mattress cover after noticing fluids seeping into the mattress which gave us two free pillows! We would definitely recommend this location. read more

We purchased a new mattress from here about a year ago. Last night, as I was having trouble sleeping, I once again realized just how much the mattress was falling short of our expectations. Overall, the sales process was ok. The showroom is nice and they have a decent amount of mattresses to choose from. However, prepare yourself for sticker shock. I came in with a budget in mind and quickly realized it was insufficient for this store. The salesman was a nice enough guy, but he was giving us so much information about how mattresses were made and it just was overwhelming and confusing. I finally interrupted him and told him what we were looking to spend, which was around $2,500. I fully expected to get an amazing mattress with that budget, but he directed us to some "lower end" models. We found one we thought was decent, but the price was in the low $3,000s. He said he'd be willing to meet my price, but he'd only be able to do that if we bought the floor model. We weren't thrilled about that, and after a few minutes of conversation he agreed to give us the mattress for the price I had requested, and not the floor model. Delivery and take away of our 15 year old mattress was quick and pleasant. But the experience of sleeping on the bed was not. I honestly could not tell the difference between this new mattress and our 15 year old mattress. Now, they tell you that you can return the mattress and they will come pick it up. And no, we did not take advantage of that. I wanted to give it some more time and thought maybe it just needed to break in a little bit. But that hasn't happened. It's a nice showroom, the buying experience is pretty good, but the prices are insane and what you get just isn't worth it. At least that's the case for us. read more

Shopping for a mattress can be as intimidating as shopping for a car, especially with so many choices and prices and the thought of dealing with aggressive sales people. Armed with a review of all mattresses in a recent copy of Consumer Reports we went to City Mattress prepared to be accosted as we walked in. Instead we were greeted by a representative who told us where the mattresses we were looking for were located and that when we found what we liked or had questions to see Matt who was seated at a desk. In disbelief that we were not being followed, we began looking at mattresses of our choice. We found several that seemed to fit the bill for what we wanted. We had questions and went to see Matt Roeder, store manager. We told him that we had tested several mattresses and found one that seemed to offer the comfort we were looking for. We were surprised with the reasonable price of the mattress we had selected. He told us that based on our needs the one we selected would meet our needs perfectly. He seemed genuinely concerned with our satisfaction rather than up selling us into another choice. It is refreshing to find that there are still representatives that are interested in providing good customer service rather than sales trickery. read more

Just purchased a mattress from the Transit location and had a great experience. I have always felt a touch awkward buying mattresses and then I met Kurt Kennedy at this location and I have never felt more comfortable buying a mattress. Kurt provided my husband and I with a lot of useful information on mattresses in general. He listened to our needs as we discussed what we were looking for in our next mattress. When we tried the mattresses out and I really could have taken a nap on several of them I was that comfortable with Kurt as a salesperson. I did not feel rushed nor did I feel like I was being sold a product I did not want. My husband and I located the right mattress and I'm really excited to get it delivered tomorrow. read more

Outstanding service from the same 2 gentlemen we've worked with for many years now.... Decided to get TWO new queen size beds as we prepared for our son's wedding and out of town guests-- City Mattress helped us select, purchase, and set up as well as take-away everything we needed within 3 days from entering the showroom to putting sheets & new comforter on our beds. The BEST part is when we had a snafu w/a part that could have delayed all this til AFTER our event, the salesmen stayed late the 1st night and communicated w/us until after 9pm to make other arrangements and MAKE IT HAPPEN ON TIME! We're so pleased, that now, weeks later, I finally got the chance to call and tell the guys how happy we are!! Their response??? HOW WAS YOUR SON'S WEDDING!!? lol ... Approximately 11 days ago we purchased a mattress from the Transit Road tent sale location and it turned out to be a great experience. In the past buying mattresses to me has never been a pleasant experience and then I met Kurt Kennedy and the regional manager, Matt and I have never felt more comfortable buying a mattress. Kurt provided us I with a lot of useful information on mattresses in general. He listened to our needs as we discussed what we were looking for in our next mattress. We tried out several mattresses and for awhile I was beginning to feel like we were in the Goldilocks fairy tale....some too hard some too soft..some too expensive (this is a modern Goldilocks fairy tale). But through it all Kurt, with a little bit of assistance from Matt, prevailed and my wife and I found the mattress that was, "just right! We did not feel rushed nor did we feel like I was being sold a product I did not want. The only reason I delayed in writing this review is because I wanted wait and see exactly what mattress I received and after sleeping on it for almost two weeks we are completely satisfied with it. read more

So after dealing with horrible back and hip pain from my mattress for months , one April day I made my way into City Mattress on transit . There I met Keith, a Very personable and knowledgeable salesman. I ended up buying a prana sleep firm mattress. When I got home and started sleeping on it my pain instantly got a little bit better but didn't seem fully relieved. I had gone Back in to make a trade and they gave me 30 extra days to keep sleeping on this mattress to see if I would change my mind. After about 30 days I switched it for a slightly softer mattress and when I got home to my dismay it was way too soft and my pain started again. Now city mattress only allows one trade so I called them back up and Keith and the regional manager, Mike, truly went out of their way to accommodate me, and gave me no issues regarding making exceptions to their policies. Their exceptional customer service guarantees that they have a customer for life and I will definitely be back there for my children's mattresses and bedroom sets and whenever I will be needing a new mattress. Thank you so much Keith and Mike for all you have done for me and I would highly recommend anyone buying a mattress from here because they truly back up their product. read more

Moved to WNY this summer. Shopped around at several mattress stores. When I walked into City Mattress on Transit Rd it was a breath of fresh air. It has an open clean layout with many options. The salesperson (Keith) was very helpful and patient. I visited the store several times before purchasing and never felt pressured. Keith did a great job discussing mattress facts but also talking about WNY and things I should do in the area. I got a good deal on my mattress and several accessories. Delivery was on time, professional, and courteous. After finally closing on our house and moving in, our dog jumped on the bed and left a less than pleasant surprise for us!! Let's just say there was a yellow puddle on the bed!! I was beside myself, our new expensive mattress ruined on day one!! It soaked through the cover and sheets but it was contained by the mattress liner that Keith sold us!! Mattress saved!! We rolled the sheets and liner up and took them to the cleaners right away. Called Keith and it was moments before closing. Keith went out of his way to get us a new liner and stayed late till we arrived!! Great products and even greater service!!
