I checked this place out last summer because it was new. I'm glad I did, because now I don't go anywhere else. I will get SNS on my hands about every 3-4 weeks and a pedicure every other visit. One time, Tammy was doing my nails and talked me into a French ombre manicure, and I LOVED it! I get so many compliments on my nails! I went to get them done again and someone else tried to do it, but couldn't come close to what Tammy does, so now she is the only one I will have do my SNS. The owner is super nice, the entire staff is very professional, and I love that they stuck to their mask policy throughout covid. Visited on Monday, and my nails started lifting in less than a week. I was charged $63-$65 for builder gel even though I was originally scheduled for a regular gel manicure. While I was sitting there, the woman who seemed to be the manager came over and told the nail tech to switch me from gel to builder gel. I'd never tried it before, so I figured why not -- I've heard good things. But after I agreed, she continued speaking to him (in Vietnamese), basically saying, "See, this is an easy sell. Just tell them what they're doing is bad for their nail bed and that builder gel is the best, and they'll always agree." That alone should've been a red flag. The result? A complete waste of money. Not my first disappointment at City Nails but definitely my last. I was there for 2 hours to get an SNS with nail art, and left with what I could've done myself with no experience. They're thick, and the edges are terrible, and she did the nail art in a color that only shows up under UV light. She couldn't have cared less, and this is the feeling you get most times you go there. If you can get the guy that usually checks people in, you might get quality nails. Otherwise? Stay far away. We just moved to the area. I've come to this place twice and really loved the lady that did my nails. Up until this point we have had a good experience but the dude at the front desk who answers the phone is the rudest person I have ever known. He has no time for his customers. I tried to book an appointment, tried to get the person who did my toes before, repeatedly was told he didn't have time to look that up for me. He was busy with a client as if I'm not a client too! If they don't have enough help to manage the front desk and the booking of appointments then they need to get additional help. This guy is super rude! Will not be back until this guy is gone! never ever been treated like I was today at Citynails Spa I was a walk in on Tuesday. When I arrived I was greeted immediately by a male and I requested "sns nails and a pedicure" I was told it would be 10 mins and I sat down. I waited approx 25 before being placed in the pedicure chair. Not mad about that. That's par for the course. I got a classic pedicure by a young girl and she did great. While she's about to paint my toes the SAME male that greeted me came over and said he did not know I want my nails done!!! (Remember it was him that greeted me in the beginning so hmmmmm). He told me it would be "a little wait" I asked him what that meant and he said about 25 mins but to rush things he said he'd bring the acetone over for me to soak my current sns nails in to make things move faster. I agreed and said "no problem" and even complimented him on the idea to soak my finger while I was still getting my pedicure. Not mad yet. Mistakes happen. No biggie. Well,.... He never came back over though!! My pedicure finished and I was moved to a chair to wait. No one came for about 30 mins to start soaking my nails. When someone finally did come, I said I needed to call and see if my sitter could stay,...and if not I would just resort to the color being taken off. Sitter couldn't stay. 30 more minutes of just sitting and soaking before they come remove the color and I leave with bare nails. My total time at the salon was just shy of 3 hours!!!!!!!I pay (internally dissatisfied bc the time I was there and the fact I didn't get what I wanted at all but still planning to return) Here's what really upset me. I realize after I've left that I was charged 10 dollars to have the color removed!!!!! I call them to point out that I was charged for something I was forced to resort to and also was forced to wait and very lengthy amount of time for. He then tells me he will take the 10 dollars off my charge if I come back for sns nails. I'm dissatisfied but thought I'll come back and explain that Wasn't really a satisfying resolution. I came back in today (Thursday morning) with full intentions of having sns nails done but I wanted to point out that taking 10 dollars off wasn't a favor to me at all and that I'm still being charge full price but being forced to do it in two visits and get a sister twice. He didn't get up from his chair for the conversation....or wait to have a normal conversation with me. He stayed seated and raised his voice so everyone in the salon was party to the conversation. Awkward and unprofessional!!! I decided after listening to his tone I would not get anymore service and requested a refund for the 10 dollars I was charged. He said no. He said "if you go to a restaurant, you pay for the food! It's the same!! You received a service! You want service for free?" ......... Well no,....I don't!! I do however want the service I requested in a reasonable time frame and not to be treated like garbage after you fail to provide it. Keep your attitude and your "service " !!!never ever again!!! I left and immediately and went to Bogan nails and spa and they were absolutely amazing. Left there so happy Update. Initially I just put a review on fb but someone (I'm almost certain is an employee) accuses me of lying about the incident and said I was the rude one. I asked if they were an employee and the refused to answer and then turned off commenting. I believe not answering is the same as answering. I also was offered a refund for the color removal charge via dm after my review if I was to take the review down. I love this salon. It is so serene and relaxing. Vu the front desk manager makes sure to hold everyone to the same standards. If you are rude disrespectful or not polite he will not allow you to behave this way inside of his facilities. For this I am super appreciative. My wife was treated very poorly at the desk a few months ago here.(see previous review) She left a one star review which is more than they deserved after being put through the third degree. Today she was told that she would not be able to return to their shop because she left a one star review. I've looked through their reviews which show a less than average experience for others as a well. There's a nail shop on every other corner so no problem. Our money will go to an establishment that wants clients, treats them well and wants their return business. Keep this in mind when you are considering a nail shop. In fact she was asked to change her review from one star because they don't service people who give them a one star review‍. The manager (very rude male) gives her the total of 130!!!! Yes 130. She asked please explain why so high. He immediately had the worst attitude known to man. He tells her they charge for the length of the add on nail. She says but the add on nail is my same length of my natural nail (and that's something the nail tech never mentioned to her at all) he immediately belittles her and says since price is a problem we will cut your nails down and you can leave. (Her nails are done and we already spent 2.5 hours there) She explains price is not the problem it's the principle and this is a new shop for her and she not familiar with policy here. After he yells at her to pay for he will call the police for trespassing (again we had been there 2.5 hours) she begins to tear up and walk out. I talk to my tech in complete embarrassment asking why is she being treated this way. A PAYING CUSTOMER!! Then he yells at me and says she's not listening and trespassing on his property. I asked for signature with extra massage time and I was so rushed through it was a joke. She yelled across room entire time and my feet are not smooth at all. I picked the OPI Shine & she didn't do the base or top coat in shine. She used the regular top coat they use with all regular polish pedicures. I came home & removed it was so bad. On Monday, March 22. I came in at around 5:30pm with a friend. We were seated and the my lady started. i showed her a picture of what i wanted and she said ok. During the whole appointment she was very rough and she even cut me. When I told her that the length was too long she did not pay attention. Once she started painting them i expressed that i did not like how she painted them and she said she would try a different way and she did. The way she was painting the nails was not at all what i had asked for and had shown her in the pictures. We both decided to just take off the white tips i asked and she got annoyed and said and i quote " I hate you, I wanted to go home early". She finished and went to go help another customer. Extremely rude! Came in to inquire about an acrylic fill in. The owner asked me to sanitize my hands. I said sure no problem. I did and asked him to sanitize his. He refused stating he had been there all day. Which to me was more of a reason to sanitize. Another customer came in and he threw his hand up to me saying whatever. I live across the street from city nails so it's very convenient to go over there every two weeks with my daughters. They talked me onto acrylic nails since I wear my nails a little longer instead of SNS . My daughter and went on Saturday of last week for a fill out bill was $170.00 they charge to take polish , to put polish on , everything little thing they can . Well by Monday I broke a nail went to repair it as soon as I got home a other nail broke off . I went back tonight to get it fixed and asked them if they could take them all off and I get new ones since obviously these are lasting he said I would have to pay for it I asked if he would discount it since it clearly wasn't my fault and he said he would be glad to give me 10% off . When I get back home and was washing my face another nail broke . Needless to say me , my mom and 3 of my daughters will no longer be going to this place .
