Went to this post office and they had me speak to the supervisor who was patronizing telling me, "You don't know how it works here. You have to register your address." I said just tell me how to get my package back. She's like you can't. We already sent it back, but you can pay to get it back. I said I'm not paying for something that's your mistake. She said it's not our fault you didn't register. I have had more than half a dozen addresses and have never had to "register" with the local post office. No apology was ever made. Can't cut trees, can't have more than three pets, no roosters. The city wants to 'rewild' the city at citizen cost in safety for both citizens and their domestic animals. In the 28 years of living here the city has become much less safe. Wild animals are overrunning the city including rats from the city's unkempt Blyth Park. Latest is a cougar in people's backyards. The Bothell police officer I talked to about the puma public safety threat said the public must defend itself against 130 pound predators. Currently the City of Bothell has an extremely aggressive, over-empowered, unprofessional animal code enforcer evicting and confiscating people's valuable animal property without due process of law, fining pet owners for perceived minor infractions, citing animal cruelty and neglect, and getting pets killed, and owners traumatized and feeling raped. All with the apparent support of Bothell's Police Department as police officers have accompanied the code enforcer to people's homes. So pumas on the prowl are okay, poodles, barn cats, and roosters not okay. The city does not control its own vegetation and animals, but hyper-controls citizens vegetation and animals. Not at all welcoming. Backwards policies. All at a very high cost in property taxes. In addition to not providing physical security, indeed threatening citizen's peace with the aggressive animal code enforcer and police, the city, because of their poor tree management, does not provide electricity security. The power goes out often and often for prolonged periods. Most homeowners have been forced to get generators. If you are in an apartment or condo, darkness and cold await you. We definitely do not recommend living in this city as it is at present. Sign us, 28 year residents looking for a kinder, more sensible place to live.

There are some standout restaurants here (Amaro Bistro, Poquitos, McMenamins Tiki restaurant above the lagoon, to name a few..) and it's a small town with a cute and safe small town vibe. There's still a Baskin Robbins, local bridal shops, and also a local lady-owned tattoo shop (she is so talented there's a huge wait-list). I am always up for a stroll in downtown Bothell and can't wait to see how the city continues to grow!

Unfortunately, I was a victim of domestic violence and through the Covid pandemic. I've gotten to know the VA Police Department very well on various levels. There was an officer that assaulted me when I was having a depressive moment in my life from domestic abuse walking outside from the park to towards Baskin-Robbins. There was a nosy neighbor with a dog that thought I was trying to vandalize cars, and I wasn't. I had a rock in my hands to throw it in a puddle. It splashed, and the water splashed on the car tire. Unfortunately the witness had his facts wrong and he couldn't see because it was dark. The next thing I know he pulls out his phone to call 911 and have the police arrest me. One male police officer, and two females approximately, threw me to the ground, handcuffed me, and started yelling at me as I was crying. The police officer was so excited about getting me upset. He said I'm taking a picture of you and he pulled out his phone and put my face in the phone to take a picture. The women were on board with this and said nothing. The next thing I know they told me I was resisting a rest, and they were concerned, even though I was telling them my side of the story. My mother was so concerned she called the police department, and the officer told her that I was resisting arrest, and I was not intoxicated. I was thrown in the back of their ambulance and four point restraints and taken into an area of holding area as I was stripped naked as they watched and then they told me not to move around because I'm under video and they do not want to see my body parts. However, when I'm feeling attacked, I move around and now they're uncomfortable with me being in four-point restraints as my clothes were being ripped off of me. I also had concerns about both the police working with CPS and heritage Christian Academy in partnership. The communication between these three different entities was a breakdown moment. I was not shocked and surprised how I was treated that night being arrested in front of Baskin-Robbins and thrown in four point restraints by three cops. I still think about it every day because it was an assault. It was abuse. It was an abusive power. I tried to report it and receive police reports, and there was no response. Police officers are above the law. I will not call the police again and I will not work in their jurisdiction because I don't trust these cops anymore. I will not work with people. I do not trust. I do not hang out now in Bothell proper so I can avoid them like the plague. I do not want trouble with the cops. I do not need their judgment and I do not appreciate them hurting me as I have bruises all over my body from that night. They left me in four point with restraint on a gurney in solitary being monitored with no food and water again. The cops, the cop left their chest held high shaking their fist. I'm a hero. I'm a hero. However, they did not spend the night in solitary naked in four point streets on a small gurney. In the military, we trained for that we trained for the opposition we trained for what it feels like to be captured. I would like to see both the police and Kirkland police work together too be in my shoes. I would like to see them assaulted by four or five cops so they can understand what it feels like to get really arrest, arrested and their local community not Justin The academy but real time. I would like to see both the police do some cross training with the big boys in Seattle proper and the real big boys in Stockton and Modesto, California. These men, these police officers in those areas know how to triage petty versus real. My understanding with Kirkland in Bothell police they're meeting ticket quotas and a rest quotas and that is just my opinion I understand they like PR opportunities as well as I observed and worked with these people and partnership as well as being a victim of abuse. I reached out to the both police department to express my concerns and there was no response so that's why I'm writing this today. I needed to get this off my chest to move forward in my healing. I hope one day that I can trust a police officer again.

This a great addition to the downtown Bothell area with a simple but modern look. The location offers outdoor seating to the public.

Coming to Kenmore Library today, Monday 23 October 2023, looking for a book to read, I pulled in…read moreoff of Northeast 181st Street to find a packed parking strip on the side of the building. I was like, oh no... where am I supposed to park. Continuing forwards in my vehicle I noticed a slanted drive down under the library building on the left. Then I noticed a sign with an arrow indicating parking. So, I followed the drive in and parked in the garage under the building. An elevator was available to take one up to/down from the library entryway. I took it on the way up, and during my one floor elevator ride remembered I did not like elevators, so I might walk around like I drove into the garage when I went back to my car. Getting off the elevator in the entryway with doors on each side of me, one to the street and one into the library, I entered the library through the door(s) going that way. The interior of the library initially felt small and a librarian was at their station by the entry/exit. Other librarian(s) were about in the library around the shelves. A number of people were sitting on chairs/couches in the library reading books. The chairs/couches were well placed throughout the library as were tables. Each section, such as teen, non-fiction, magazines, etc., was well labeled. Study rooms were open/available for use if wanting a quiet place to close the door and work on something. I was specifically looking for something in the tune of business. The different non-fiction categories were diverse in offerings. I ended up going with a book about putting ideas into action. Different libraries in the King County Library System tend to have different business offerings, and I found the marketing/thought process focus at this library refreshing. Self check out stations were located near the entrance/exit by the librarians' stations. The librarians I interacted with were warm in demeanor. On my way out, I opted to walk back to my car instead of taking the elevator. I found there was even a sidewalk down to the garage. All around I enjoyed my experience.

The Kenmore Library is a newly built public library in the King County system. Small facility, yet…read morevery modern with natural light and clean lines. Small footprint, but close to USPS and City Hall. Parking is not plentiful and it seems as tho the 5 minute "book drop off" spaces are always full. Kenmore is more of a satellite location, than a full size public library. I reluctantly used this library for a while when the Bothell Library was being remodeled. Staff has always been nice in Kenmore, but it lacks the size and amenities of Bothell. It was easy to place books on hold online to pick up and check out at the self-service kiosks. But if you want full service, Kenmore is not your library.
