OVERALL: 0.07/10. If I would, I'd give a half-star. Despite being listed on the WA DMV website, I would not recommend this facility at all, to anyone, ever! 1) VALUE FOR MONEY: 1/10. This place wanted to charge use tax on a vehicle that was purchased brand-new in CA (which charged sales tax) over ten years ago. They wanted us to "provide proof" outside of the CA DMV vehicle registration document that we clearly provided, which is near-impossible since this was over 10 years ago, and the car was always registered to the previous owner, which was a relative of my partner. 2) QUALITY: 0/10. Quality of experience leaves much to be desired. Not only did we not get the answers we needed, the clerk provided vague advice as to what "evidence" was necessary for us to proceed (rather than giving us a step-by-step breakdown, or any kind of "next step" advice). Worse yet, the clerk didn't understand the law where, if the previous owner had the vehicle for seven years (out of state car ownership transfer), use tax does NOT apply (we had to search this up ourselves and inform the clerk, which is somewhat unacceptable since THEY should be the experts here). 3) SERVICE: 1/10. The lobby serves a maximum of three people, and there's two clerks available. Neither seemed happy to be there nor interested in solving problems for customers. I've been coming here for 8 years and has the quality of their customer service decreased. I hate writing poor reviews, but if you have questions about your tabs (which are being held captive there) you'll be met by short answers and unhelpful tone. This little vehicle licensing office is tucked away off all of the main streets in Downtown Bothell. The office is definitely a small space that currently only allows three customers in the office at one time (Covid restrictions). The staff is always very friendly and very quick about processing the paperwork. They are also very helpful at giving tips and tricks about licensing any vehicle. There is usually no line because it is hidden. They only have three parking spaces but there is a lot of street parking and a free parking lot about 100 feet away. If you need a place to license a car, rv or motorcycle this is the place to come and get it done. read more

Making life difficult for no reason! Had all the paperwork for a title transfer including excise tax receipt. For the excise tax I had to take a day off of work to get done in downtown Everett. Finally made it to this licensing place and since on the tax document I had written my current address on the paper but it required my previous address, the lady from the excise tax office told me it was fine to cross out and write the new one... well apparently this lady at Worthington takes pleasure in blocking any and all things that aren't perfect and stomped over to her manager as I was mid-sentence looking for her permission not to accept it then said she had to call "headquarters" to ask if she can accept it... I started to speak again and she cut me off to talk to "headquarters" and was like "can I take this form? This is wrong , that's wrong, this is wrong" of course they're going to say no when you put it like that! I told her it's just a receipt proving I paid the tax and I have all the rest of the paperwork but no, now we have to take another day off work and start over. I hate when people don't even try to be helpful and even more so seem to take pleasure in making your life difficult for no reason. There's no reason for it. I bought a trailer with cash, have a bill of sale, paid the tax, have the title in hand........why does it have to be harder than that? Skip this place and go somewhere helpful! I've been renewing my tabs here for over 17 years, and utilized their services numerous times when I have sold vehicles. They have always had a staff of very friendly and professional ladies, that go out of their way to make certain you get what you came in for. It reminds me of what Bothell was like in the 50s and 60s, when Sidies drugs was on the corner , just south of here, and the Butcher shop that smelled so good, was across the street. She will withhold the title to your car, call your mommy and tattle on you then violate numerous DOL rules and WACS all in the name of providing "customer service." I headed to the license agency today, worried that I wouldn't leave with my plates but that all changed with the one and only Stacey!!! OMG this woman is amazing, sweet, nice and put me at ease. I moved to WA from NC late last year and had financed a Jeep through Capital One in May as I knew my old Ford Explorer was not going to make the trip. We moved in early August and I wasn't able to get my license until October. I made some calls about what I needed to do to get my WA plates after I obtained my license and was told that I needed a copy of my vehicle title. I reached out to Capital One and was told that they would send me an electronic version of my title. After I received it, I reached out to Beverly's Licensing in Everett to tell them what I had an asked if there was anything else that I needed before coming in and was told that what Capital One sent wouldn't work and I needed a copy of the actual title. I reached out to Capital One again and told them what I needed and they sent out the same paperwork so I called and spoke to a customer service rep who said I could have the license agency fax over a demand for title form. I didn't want to have to go through that and gave up for a few months. I looked at the reviews for this agency and told my boyfriend it isn't going to work but lets just go in and try and then I can ask if they could fax Capital one the form that they needed. Even though Stacey said the electronic copy that I had was enough, I still didn't believe her ( I feel like an unlucky person, so I couldn't believe that something was going to go right). I held that belief up until she told me the amount for the fees and I was able to get my plates! A huge weight was lifted off my shoulders as I have needed my plates for a while and I am so grateful to come into this agency and worked with this amazing woman. Honestly, I don't think things would have worked out as well for me if I had went anywhere else. Stacey, if you are reading this thank you for all of your help. Avoid this place like the plague. I only came here because the out-of-state dealer where I bought my car sent the paperwork here. First, there's no parking. Second, they are incompetent in every possibly imaginable way. The dealer did not send enough money. The dealer called them and got the correct amount. The "correct" amount was still over $100 less than what they charged me once I got there because they forgot to include the registration fees (which the dealer had agreed to pay). When I called, they said the dealer had sent a check. I ask if they took debit cards for the difference. They said yes. When I arrived, they would not take anything except a check or cash because the dealer had paid with a check. And "the payment forms have to be the same." Then they told me that their on site ATM would not dispense that much cash. But they had no idea where else to go. Funny, because there are at least two banks and a credit union within a block and a half of this place. My worst licensing experience in 18 years in Washington state. Just an all-around bad joke of a business. If I could give negative stars, I would. read more

HORRIBLE Customer Service. The women that work at the front desk are horrible. I have used this location a few times and keep hoping that it will get better, but obviously not. Especially Mary Lou Carlo-Thomas. This last time I went in, she was reading the newspaper. Did not even look up to acknowledge me. Then when I said, "hello", first - she looked at me, turned back to her newspaper, finished reading a couple of lines, and then folded the paper back, and THEN asked me to come over to her station. No regard for human kindness or decency. It is unfortunate that their superiors do not give them some sort of incentive to treat all people with kindness and dignity. I really try and avoid this licensing spot, it's worth 5 miles to drive to canyon park. I have had many negative experiences here. Always thinking the bad day of one customer service agent doesn't mean the business is bad, I gave this spot too many chances. Today, I ordered my tabs online for a pick up. Since I wouldn't have to do any transactions, I selected Worthington. Again, I paid and it should have been a 1 minute pickup. It was fast and easy, but not before the woman made sure to scold me and school me about how I was 5 days expired. Rude. Seriously. I've been renewing my tabs for multiple vehicles here for years. I've always had a nice experience. I'm not sure why so many people are leaving negative reviews; perhaps they are going into the business with a bad attitude to begin with? Only once out of the 20 or so times that I've renewed my tabs there did I need to wait in line for help and even then it was only a minute or two. Usually you can just walk in, get help and be out in three minutes or so for a standard tab renewal. I've also had a title transfer done at Worthington and it was quite complicated due to our circumstances. I was selling my grandmothers car, which was not in my name and she was unable to be there, yet my uncle had Power of Attorney. The person at Worthington gave us useful/detailed information as to what we needed to do to get the transaction completed. Once we obtained the proper documents, the person at Worthington notarized our documents and had the title transfer completed within five minutes. The shared parking lot is not very big, but I've never ran into an instance where there was no parking available. read more

If you have to go into a DMV, go here. Their parking lot is tiny and shared with other businesses, which means there is often no wait. I understand some of the negative reviews, to be sure. If you look closely, almost without exception, they come from one-time incidents after many years of positive experiences. People seem to like to complain more than praise. Did not have a good experience when trying to do a title transfer. The staff was not helpful at all and tried to charge me more tax than was actually due. I ended up going to the licensing in Shoreline and they were very knowledgable and able to get it done. These guys are very old school and don't have access to internet or email to verify values. They tried to send me to the library to look up my own value because their computer system didn't have a $ value for my 2003 BMW. I will drive miles out of my way to avoid having anything to do with this place in the future. read more

I have used Worthington for at least the past 25 years and quite honestly for the most part have been satisfied. All my transactions have for the most part been rather straight forward. My last and final business with them was regarding a moderately difficult transfer, and all I heard was NO, NO , NO cant do it! I had called DMV and was assured I was able to make the transfer with the documentation I had on hand, so back I go the second time, unfortunately to the SAME "NO" person and in addition to the final "NO" some attitude, this gal does not like her job, and it shows. Went to a second licensing office near by, and in 10 minutes they "pleasantly" walked me through the paperwork and all is well! Eastside Auto Licensing is w/o a doubt my go to licensing office. Just to clarify, I would normally not forsake a business for one ill mannered reception, but they clearly did not want me or my business there and make it very clear by the "attitude" given me not once, but twice. read more

The staff is incredibly inconsiderate, unhelpful and appear to enjoy creating stress and ordeals for their customers. This was a fairly painless process as far as DMVs go. Initially got off to a rocky start when I walked in and asked for plates and how to get them, the lady looked at me like I was crazy and was like well did you call us to have anything faxed over and I was like no, I'm literally here because I have no idea how to do this so I don't know, please help me? It was super rude and awkward at first. I went ahead and called who I needed to and did get it faxed over and thankfully when it was time for help again a way nicer woman helped me. She is the reason for the 3 stars, super personable and friendly and helped me get what I needed and low key mourned with me over the cost of plates (be prepared if you are new to Washington or coming back from another state and getting plates in the greater Seattle area... gonna cost you around $350) and gave me some tips. I won't come back here again unless I have to just because it's really small, and I can see it getting crazy busy just with 5 customers there. There are only 2 windows.
