The very nice Lady was all to happy to direct me where to go! When I got into the building inspection office it wasn't obvious what to do or who to talk to. There were 2 people sitting in what appeared to be a mock waiting room. I waited patiently in front of the counter for what seemed like an excessive amount of time. I was never acknowledged or directed where to go. I finally asked a fellow patron singing in on a clip board marked with a sign that said "Complete Application". He told me to sign in on the clip board and someone would eventually get to me. Overall the experience was good but they could stand to communicate more clearly with better signage.

We dropped off some ancient TVs. I jokingly said we had a "body to drop off. " The dump manager came unglued on me. I listened to his lecture for 10 minutes on how I shouldn't joke about dead bodies at the dump. Scolded me like I was child. I felt like a child and took it. I deserved that one. Had no idea that a women's body was recently found in a Houston dump. Shame on me. (Goggled that information after my verbal flogging). Access to toss off these TVs is not easy. You have to toss everything over the edge. They are heavy! The sound of smashing glass tubes was pretty cool as the TVs popped. After much thought, I think the dump master has no sense of humor. Just saying.

And it's nice that they light up some of the buildings at night. Well done Dallas!! The freeways and tollways are hard to navigate, but thank goodness we have GPS to help. My Mother always had a tough time navigating through here in the 70's and 80's -- that was way before GPS.

Staff were super friendly and kind as they told us to visit the 6th floor. We unexpectedly discovered the flag room on the 6th floor, which had amazing views of the city skyline. The flag room also had a podium where we had fun posing behind it. Also a nice bench outside for that souvenir photo of Dallas. There are also restrooms on the same floor. This was a nice side trip as we took pics of the big round pool with its own ducks too. This pool has a fountain which came on later on. Definitely recommend coming here to see the beautiful city skyline and learn some history of Dallas.

They don't answer incoming calls related to work, there is no way to contact the district through email, and their online system has been broken for years (when you finally talk to someone, they laugh about how bad it is). They run hours late on hearings, and bungle the process every year. This office is a huge waste of taxpayer dollars.

Justin Industries, Nocona Boot Company/Nocona Belt Company originated downtown Nocona, making boots for the Larry Mahan line at Cavender's Boot City. This cute little Texas town of Nocona has had a population of around 3000 Americans since the 1940s. It was named for Peta Nocona, the Comanche chief. The Camanche, are a Native American tribe right here from our Southern Plains in the United States. Today, the Comanche people belong to the federally recognized Comanche Nation, headquartered right here, in nearby Lawton, Oklahoma. Anyway, the beautiful Nocona Texas area was first known to white settlers as the last stop in Texas before crossing the beautiful Texas/Oklahoma Red River on the Legendary Chisolm Trail. A area rich in Native American & early Cowboy history. Nocona was founded in 1887 along a significant bend in the Gainesville, Henrietta/Western Railway line, which became part of the Missouri-Kansas-Texas Railroad, connecting Gainesville, Henrietta, & our other lovely small Texas town of Wichita Falls. YeeHAW! Even thou the trains are all gone now, train robbery out of style, the old Texas cowboy rail towns have remained pretty much traditionally the same. Just one gourgous little Texas Town after another really. Most, just like to drive thru these picturesque little Texas towns along the majestic Red River. This whole Texas/Oklahoma Red river area "Texoma" is my favorite area of both States. All of highway 82 thru to Munster, Texas all around thru Wine country thru St Jo & here to Nocona, to the Taovayas memorial bridge on the scenic bypass to the Oklahoma side thru Burneyville to Turner Falls & the Arbuckle mountains. Just a gorgeous area for "motoring" as most people drive their finest thru here every weekend. Especially the motorcycle people. I been living in this area for over 20 years. My main residence. The scenic bypass thru Nocona is Tops. We love our little adorable Texas "Cowboy boots" town of Nocona. Especially all decorated up for Christmas! Downtown is always so festive! Just magical. LOVE the Cavender's Billboard advertisement in Amarillo, Texas, outside the "Big Texas Steakhouse." These "Nocona" boots are made for walking! And that's just what i'll do! Texas Boots & Beef!
