Besides being a park, it's a place where it holds special events throughout the year that may be worth checking out. The park has a free parking lot just off the to side and it is easily accessible. I appreciate that it also has a picnic area, garden areas, benches, water fountains (though I doubt anyone uses it), and restrooms. It is quite well maintained and a sweet spot in Dallas for some fun photos. A few historic buildings I visited include the Alamo Saloon, Blum Bro. General Store, and Renner School. Per their website educational tours/ school field trips are welcome, plus reservation facilities for those interested.

It was initially a vehicle bridge but fell into disrepair. Rather than demolish it, or spend the money to bring it back to code to support vehicles, it was reopened in 2014 as a pedestrian bridge. Today, it is more than that. It's a park with a playground, lounge chairs, a human-sized chess board and walking/cycling paths. It was renamed after the city's first African-American mayor in 2016, Ronald Kirk (1954- ). There is parking nearby on Gulden Lane next to the Felix Lozada Sr. Gateway. There are signs telling about the original trading post on this site. Because it was designated parkland at the beginning, it was not redeveloped as a skyscraper or a freeway, making it an open space in downtown Dallas. It's also one one of the most recognized parks in the country. Not because it's distinctive; it's not. But that day which continues to live in infamy . . . 22 November 1963 . . . President Kennedy was riding in a convertible with his wife, top down, while the crowds cheered . . . suddenly, a shot rang out . . . Dealey Plaza is the park behind the convertible in the Zapruder film. X marks the spot on Elm Street where the fatal bullet hit his skull. A solemn spot. The park is not all about Jack Kennedy, though. When I visited, there was a sign advertising movies in the park. So I'd have to think that Dealey Plaza has other community events too. The east end also has places to sit under mature trees, which is nice on sweltering summers in North Texas. Pretty sculpture. Again, not an unusual park. But it serves an important purpose in the area, has lots of museums nearby, and is itself historically significant.

I highly recommend stopping by if you're in Highland Park and want a sweet, low‑key outing. These oversized bronze bears are tucked along a peaceful walking path by the water/waterfall and the whole area feels like a storybook scene. The neighborhood is beautiful, the park is spotless, and the bears are adorable. It's one of the simpler, happy places that instantly lifts your mood. Best time to visit is early in the morning when crowds are almost non-existent. Pack a picnic basket, blanket and a book.

The building itself is nice from the exterior but very dated once inside. Additionally, the hours of the stores/ food items are limited so its not an option for after work or the afternoon if you're staying in the hotel. Everything closes by 2:30PM. With that said, it is nice that there are businesses (dentist, salon, etc.), food options, a hotel and a connection to the chase tower.

It's located just a few streets away from the popular Mustangs of Las Colinas Sculpture, Water Street District, and Toyota Music Factory. Unfortunately, the clock isn't really part of a park and sits at an intersection so you would need to park at a nearby business and walk over or try to snag a couple photo from your car (which can prove a bit disastrous if you happen to be the driver). This could serve as an excellent stop for scavenger hunts and is a marvel to checkout throughout the seasons (plantings change periodically). A shocking feature of this magical clock is that it isn't just for looks and does display the current time!
