The first time I've been pulled over in 10 years and I had a clue. Windows down and I already had my wallet out. As the officer came up I had my hands on the steering wheel. As I handed over my drivers license, I also informed him that i was handing over my concealed carry permit and that I was currently carrying. He appreciated the information (West Virginia does not have a duty to inform, but it's generally a good idea to let them know) and perhaps that - and my clean driving record - earned me a warning instead of a speeding ticket. All very professional and I feel extremely warned. Dammit, I was definitely speeding but I did not see the speed limit sign until the next day when I circled back to check it out. The warning form only had "Valley Road" and the city with no address. As Valley Road continues for a while and has a spectrum of speed limits, I think I could maybe have tried to fight a ticket, but this was a warning and so be it. Well done, WVSP.
