I put a blower on the driveway in an attempt to get it dried. The blower created waves in the sealant, which obviously had too much water in it. I contacted Seal King Somerset and was told it was because our driveway is shaded. They came back to reapply and this time it dried in a couple of days...more evidence the sealant in the first application was defective. Looked good until Spring, when it started flaking off in large pieces, eventually turning to "mud", and finally a fine black powder that was tracked everywhere, including inside the house. I contacted them again and they said they would do it a third time, but at this point I did not trust they knew what they were doing. I asked for at least a partial refund and was told they do not give refunds...an example of their version of customer service. We had another vendor come out and they said they had never seen anything like it and SK's claims about shade were false. They said the first application was likely defective, which prevented the second application from adhering. Ended up hiring the other company and it dried in 24 hours and looks great. AVOID SEAL KING SOMERSET!

Their prices are competitive and industry standard but i am coming back to Seal King after trying 2 different companies over the last 2 summers because in my opinion, the sealant that they use is definitely much better than the other providers in the area. After completing his work he came to the door to show me a cable that he accidentally cut (not his fault! - other work was being done at the time and the markings/flags had been removed by them). I had Kabats cut down a tree next to a fence and in between my neighbor's and our house. It was way…read moretoo tricky to attempt to do myself, and I was honestly not sure how the heck they would take care of it. I was amused that they just came in with a boom and grab the tree from above and over the fence, cut the tree off, then lift the ENTIRE tree over the fence and carry it out in my yard along the street to safely cut up. Clearly, they use the right tools for the job. While they were there, I had them remove a large limb off a tree that was 20'+ in the air that was hanging over my house, with an outdoor hot tub directly underneath. There was NO WAY I was going to attempt that one myself either, and I'm glad I left it to the pros. They then arrived with a big wood chipper out on the street, ground up all the limbs and twigs (raking them up to disguise any sign they were ever there). Very good quality work - done on time. Bravo - I'll use them for this kind of work from now on.
