For 25-years, the first thing we do when we visit a new city is take the hop-hop bus to get our bearings. Milan is no exception. We purchased two adult 48-hour tickets for €25 each. We traveled all three routes (Red, Blue and Green) in one day. The busses were as advertised, clean, all the audio equipment worked, and with one ten-minute exception, were on time. The Red Route was best, the Blue Route a close second, and the Green Route a fail. There just wasn't enough to justify a third route. We spent the time listening to opera ... Over and over again. We took a bus tour in Milan two days ago. I changed seats twice to find one where the audio track worked. I finally got a clear one. Probably 70% of the tour was devoted to scratchy music. When we did get audio guidance, it was out of sync with the tour, so we had difficulty figuring out where we were and what we were seeing. Unfortunately, there was no person handling the tour who could explain what we were seeing as we approached, and answer questions. As I expressed to my partner, I'd have gotten more joy had I simply lit a 50 euro note on fire and watched it burn. read more

What a complete waste of money. Today I took a ride with them on one bus that had their logo across the window making it impossible to see the city. Their audio track was not set correctly to the point it would say things like "on the left at #41" and I would look and we were at #49 and going up. So you're telling me about something we already passed. I missed it. Thanks. Switched to another bus to see a different part of the city and get a better seat to discover 1) same problem with the audio we were 2-4 min past things when the audio told us about them. 2) the bus went off the route and the guide wasn't sure why so we missed some sights. Then 3) the air conditioning didn't work. It was 34C (93F) and we were in traffic so it was a sweat box. When I complained I was told "well this bus has a problem with its system" stop talking. Do not put us on a bus in this heat that you know doesn't have working AC. Still I was told "it's not our fault it's the bus" I'm sorry whose bus is it? Oh yes yours. Am I blaming you the tour guide? No. Am I saying your company should know better and do better? Yes. Do not use this company. Absolutely a waste of money. I got out and paid for a taxi to somewhere else in the city to see sights. read more

For €22 you can take this bus as much as you want for 24 hours. It was a great way to see Milan within an hour. It is a guided tour pointing out all the important places and was very informative. Once you get a feel for the city you can then hop on and hop off at all the stops you want to. Their bus stops are easy to find and the bus comes around every 20 minutes. I've been on bus tours before. I really prefer the ones where there is an actual guide and not a headset to plug in. There is a short blurb and then music or silence. In my experience it's nice when a guide points out things, you learn a lot more about the city. We had a two day pass. First issue was the first bus says it will be there at 10:20. It didn't show up until 10:40-10:45. So if there is a bus every 20 minutes, what happened to the first bus! We were there at 10:00 am. Then I wanted to take the yellow line. You have to go to stop 1 and then get on whatever color line you are looking for. Again buses every 20 minutes (so they say). Well we get there and walk to other bus, nope it's red. I ask employee and he says yellow will be there at 14 after the hour and 35 past. Well, you guessed it both times past, four buses pass and no yellow line. Ask next employee on another bus. Tells me it will be about 20 minutes . An hour or so later, we get bus. Now it's hit as hades outside and we sit with bus not running for another 15 minutes. So we finally get back to hotel.... Next morning. Bus pulling up at stop, there are 2 people standing there and we are running to catch bus. We are at door and guy shuts door in our face and starts to take off. My husband knocks on door. Driver stops, um he was there a while 2 seconds S I am running waving my arms. Wow but we can sit and wait ridiculous amounts of time at other stops where they are trying to sell tickets.......we did get in, no apology for the door slam in the face and almost leaving us but instead dirty looks from driver and other employee. We loved this. We'd been told that Milan didn't have much to see, but these buses showed us everything that we wanted to see. €22 for a day pass for what is essentially 3 different audio-guided tours of the city was well worth the price. We did this thinking it would be a good way to fill up the last day of our holiday and it ended up being a highlight! Highly recommended. read more

I would give this 3 stars except the buses always run late. Other negatives: Its expensive. $25 per person for 48 hours. They should offer a one day option for less. 2) the buses run infrequently and end early in the day. Seriously just take a guide book and hit the metro/subway. It'll be cheaper and faster. read more
