I do love an antique mall, and City View is small and charming. I'm most grateful that not too many booths here have new (made in China) items. There are a few though, and for me that scales down an Antique mall. At this mall, if you use a card to pay for your purchase, they charge you an additional fee. First off, this place is huge! Much bigger than it looked from the outside. It just keeps going. There are so many booths with all kinds of different selections. The staff was continually walking around, checking if anyone needed help. The prices varied from fairly decent to pretty high. Overall, we enjoyed looking through everything. read more

We frequent a lot of antique malls as you can see by my other reviews. I mean, literally we have gone from Tulsa to Tyler and Abilene to Austin. We drive all over because we are passionate about mid-century, modern and vintage and antiques in general. City view antique mall is a decorators paradise because you can find so many unique fine items and we have even found some fantastic mid-century items in there like Harris Strong tile art. etc. Yesterday we picked up some wonderful antique candle sconces. The place is very heavy on English and French decor but occasionally more vintage modern stuff surfaces. It's delightful just to walk through there and see all the beautiful things even if you're not finding what you're looking for. You just may find it one day. As most a co-ops , there's always somebody different desk. Some of the ladies are nice and some of them are not that is just par for the course dealing with dealers. Unless one of them actually says something insulting. I don't mention interactions such as that I'm more concerned with the actual experience of shopping there. I can take a little bit of a snotty attitude from a shop girl when I'm the one spending the money. But some of them I do have to remind what side of the counter they are on. So some few personalities aside, keep this place on your list. another reviewer says this is not a nice section of Dallas. I don't see any difference. Really Dallas has nice neighborhoods beautiful homes right next to dumps. I think that particular reviewer was just not getting the prices he wanted. I really try to be fair and impartial when I review antique malls, especially. I have been a member of several summer run, wonderfully others run like a crooked syndicate. It's a crapshoot. But as a shopper. I can appreciate malls for the experience they offer. I'll tell you it's much better to be a shopper than a dealer. read more

Think twice about strolling the mall and finding that perfect thing. Unfortunately you will probably never meet the owner of the booth and get the connection with the booth tenant whom has found purchase and curated the item. Unfortunately you will need to deal with owners of City View , whom in my case were rude, demeaning and insulting. I had been hearing a lot about City View Antique Mall and have tried to get here for a few weeks now. Most of what I had heard was pretty positive incense strolling through antique malls is a fun Pastime for me I wanted to come check them out. This was a pretty decent antique mall to visit. It is probably one of the smaller ones that I know about in the Dallas-Fort Worth area but it definitely has some vendors that have some pretty neat and interesting items. I browsed every vendor's booth and took pictures for my review of things that I found particularly interesting please see them below. I also found the people that work here were very friendly and very helpful. Unfortunately that is a bit of a rare Thang in a lot of antique malls. Located in a not so nice area in Dallas. The mall is a lot larger then it looks from the outside. It has a large selection of items and some actual antiques ie 100 years or older etc. My complaint is the pricing. I have shopped 100s of antique malls all over the country and have been a dealer for over 30 years. I buy and sell regularly. I understand higher end locations can ask for higher prices but this is not a high end location. There was not one thing that I looked at that was not at least double the average price for a comparative piece in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex. You can do much better in other malls within a 30 to 40 mile radius. Save your money and look elsewhere. The staff is very nice and helpful and the dealers are nice to talk to but again the prices are way off. Some items are even 4 times the average. read more

Google has their opening time on Sunday at 10 am. When I arrived to pick up a piece of furniture I purchased, there is a signed on the door showing opening time at 12 pm. There was a guy in the store who refused to open and only answered the phone to say "Google is wrong. Sorry but I can't fix your problem." Truly one of the best antique malls in Dallas. I have loved it since it was down on Riverfront Blvd. Fantastic dealers, antiques, customer service and the booths are styled nicely. If you leave here empty handed then you're not as into antiques as you thought you were. You could stock an entire home from here and it would unique and beautiful and nobody else would have it. City View Antique Mall - Just one of tons of booths!! - Antiques Near Me - Dallas, Texas

I called ahead of time to find out how their purchasing of items works. I have a collection of dinnerware and crystal glasses I am selling. An associate asked me to bring it in to have a look. When I got there, that same associate said (at a very high volume) "oh I'm not interested!" Without ever even looking at what I brought in. She then acted like I was stupid for actually bringing anything in and had the audacity to try to play it off as if i brought in some cheap, outdated dinnerware.... it's a $1400 Lennox presidential collection as well as a Tiffany collection in perfect condition. Far from cheap or outdated. But the craziest part is, she didn't even look at it! This lady was a combination of spastic and passive aggressive. My cousin was with me when this happened and we kept talking about the experience after we left to try to figure out if we missed something or if something was wrong with her.. Seriously, one of the most bizarre experiences I've had at a store. Needless to say, I (we) will not be returning. read more

Was wondering why they would put an antique mall in a crappy part of Lake Highlands and not expecting much when I went in after driving by dozens of times...but I was VERY pleasantly surprised. I have been a dealer on Etsy.com since 2008 and have seen my fair share of shows, antique malls, and estate sales. I don't know how they got so many amazing dealers at this location, but somehow they managed. It is all really top quality different stuff, especially furniture and odd smalls. Pretty normal prices, but rivals and maybe beats out Love FIeld Antique Mall when it was around and even some Austin vintage stores. I'm the kind who can walk into an antique store on a whimsy and drop hundreds of dollars on miscellaneous oddities, items that would make great gifts, etc. I was done looking here in about 15 minutes and left with nothing. read more

I have been a fan of City View since it was it was in its home on Lower Greenville, then Riverfront Blvd. The owners have loyal dealers that have been with them as they have been priced out of the leading markets in both locations. You will find a knowledgeable staff here, a few, like Dave, who have had their own antique businesses, and can answer your questions. I have bought many eclectic pieces here; 1940's living room chairs with perfect original material, shabby chic cabinets, art deco side tables, Fiesta dinnerware and mid-centuary garden items. There is also a nice selection of 18th & 19th century furniture. But things seem to move fast here, so dealers to bring in new things regularly. The majority of the booths are attractively displayed and inviting, with plenty of room to go in and browse. Some of the Front Desk Staff might not greet you upon arrival & that is a problem. But for the most part, I have found the Staff to be helpful, willing to call dealers to see if a price is negotiable and helpful with advice. Very much miss having near my Oak Cliff neighborhood, but still shop with when I am looking for a special piece. read more

My husband I walked into City View Antique Mall and were not greeted what so ever. We proceeded to walk around and happened upon what we could only assume was a dealer. My husband I both smiled and said hello, the lady looked up at us and immediately look backed down and when back to doing what she was doing. Not a smile, a hello, how are you, what are you looking for, nothing! We continued to look around when we came across another person who we could also assume was a dealer. Once again we smiled and said hello, and much to our surprise we actually got a hello this time!! We finished up our tour of the mall and proceeded to the front where we were met with an extremely grumpy and unhappy older women behind the desk. I asked if all prices were firm or if we were able to make an offer on things we were interested in. She then says "I guess we can call if you have cash or check.""You know cash talks in the business." My husband said well can you call and ask if they would take X amount on this piece and another piece." She then responded with a snarls up face like he was insane "uhhhh that dealer won't do that..." I responded with "what's the harm in calling and asking? The worst they can say is no!" With a sigh she called and to her surprise the dealer excepted our offer. We paid and left.. never got a smile or a thank you. Just a hand written receipt shoved across the desk. We will never EVER come back and wish the dealers luck with ever selling anything with people like that running the show!! Had we not loved the pieces we bought we would have left empty handed, still writing a poor review, telling everyone we know never to set foot in this place and never returning!! read more

I went to city view antique mall when they opened and it was pretty empty. The previous tennants let the building rot. That space was a crap hole furniture shop that let the roof cave in. They had plastic nailed into the ceiling with water in it, raining or not... Lots of mold and mildew. I think the new tennants just paneled over the disgusting mold. I've popped in often just because its in an area I frequent, there is a ton to see now. Prices aren't so great and the people that work there aren't very friendly. I came to get Annie's Chalk Paint and the costumer service here is impeccable!! A woman who was painting something herself spent 30 minutes showing me how to paint and wax a piece after I told her I was using these products for the first time. She also gave me some tips from what she's learned through experience. I walked around a bit and the furniture itself was really nice and they had a great selection--from painted/refinished pieces to original well kept pieces. Overall a great experience and everyone was so helpful and chatty! read more

i'm not a skilled enough antiquer to know if i am using the proper terminology. but if one is operating on the colloquial definition of antiques-that's what this store primarily has. either that barn furniture with the paint half chipped off/country house-esque or mahogany stately armoires and high boys. my vice is chinois and mid-century modern retro. the selection of those two styles is small compared to the other traditional antique and dirty barn furniture. but there are definitely some quality finds in chinois and mid-century genres. prices seem reasonable. staff was sort of irksome however. too many women yip yapping to you chiming in their opinions when you're trying to sort through 1379 items. or to other customers when you have a question. read more

I've been to this antiques mall a few times and feel that they do have a nice selection. This review is not regarding the selection or the prices. This review pertains to the quality of service that the employees of this place have. Every time I have visited this store I am greeted with silence. I've gotten the random stare as I enter but that is it. I've actually walked in gotten a stare only to have the next person enter and get a welcoming hello. I have never been asked if I needed any help or anything. I'm not sure if this store looks down on Hispanic customers, but it has seriously gotten to the point to where I feel un-welcomed. The last time I was in your store I was followed by an older gentleman throughout your store. I could not look around comfortably because every time I looked back he was there. I just want to bring this to your attention because we live in an age where that kind of racial profiling is getting out of hand and has no place in society. I do ask that the owners of this establishment train their employees on the proper treatment of all ethnicities that visit your store. read more
