I love shops like these. I am not the obvious clientele and I actually dragged my husband here instead of the reverse, but this is the kind of shop that you could easily spend hours in- the quirkiness draws you in. The store itself is small-ish, but the selection is packed and quite diverse. We were looking for some baseball/sports type memorabilia, and while what was present didn't appeal to us, there is really some nifty things that could appeal to a wider audience. I'd recommend coming in if you're in the Bishop arts area. Never know what you can find as there's plenty to rummage through. There's also a (clean) restroom in the shop! read more

There were some cool things here but it's a lie to say there's a "wonderful selection" of clothing. My dad loves this place and wanted to show us something cool when we visited from out of town. Too bad the store employee was a total curmudgeon. My dad tried talking to him about the history of the place and he was such a snotty jerk about it. My mom and brother were so put off by his crusty attitude that they waited in the car. I put this place on my IG story and a friend of mine replied saying that he had been in the store too....and got yelled at by the store clerk for touching something. Come on...this stuff isn't fragile and the "worn" quality is what gives it value anyway. Lighten up before you run off all your business. read more

We came to Dallas to antique shop and went to several antique stores - this was my least favorite. Since we had several men in our group we wanted to go here for "mantiques". It was not what we were expecting. This place is Very small, so there's not much selection. What was there held no appeal to any of the guys in our group, and everything was WAY overpriced. But the thing that really ruined it for us was that the man running the register (not sure if he was the owner?) was rude and unfriendly. He acted like it was an inconvenience for us to be there, and if we asked a question about any of the items, all we got was a half-mumbled reply. If you come to Dallas to antique, skip this place. It's not worth the drive. Go to Lula Bs instead. read more

An antique store for the manly man! I always get the business from my guy friends for going to antique stores. Usually it's along the lines of "did you find your crochet needles?" To be honest I am usually one of the few guys at most antique stores, but M'antique (MAN-tiques) makes antiquing a manly affair. First thing I noticed as I walked in was that all the customers were men! No granny linens or china here. Instead you will find all those things to decorate your man cave! From vases made with artillery shells, to old train sets, to tobacco pipes, to safety razors. If it's manly, you should be able to find it here! As evident by its name, I'm not this store's target clientele. I definitely have to hand it to them - they understand their market well. (They had my boyfriend at "there's beer in the fridge...help yourself.") That said, it IS a cool store that even women not dragged there by their boyfriends may enjoy browsing. They have an eclectic collection, though it does seem to be priced on the higher side than comparable stores. Some things, like a fantastic collection of retro metal lunch boxes, had me oohing and aaaahing. Others, like a god awful bomb lamp for $225, had my boyfriend drooling, but left me fearing he might actually put it in our apartment. (Fortunately the price tag dissuaded him better than I could.) I think this is a great concept for a store and I definitely appreciate anyone clever enough to find a new niche with something as common as an antique store. The owner did a great job compiling a collection of diverse items and displays them well. Definitely worth a trip to check them out; I'm sure we'll be back. read more

Great antique shop! The fam and I had a great time walking around this male-centric shop. Hubs and Dad had a great time looking around, and Mom and I enjoyed it as well. It was entertaining to watch the guys be fascinated with items that we had no clue what they were. While you're not going to find flowery vases or china, there are still really cool gender-generic pieces scatted throughout - so ladies, don't just wait outside! Check it out! They had a small outdoor selection, and we found a cool piece for our balcony. Score! Also, who can resist the free beer? Walk in towards the cash register, and there's a fridge full of complimentary beer. Nice! read more

Been to Mantiques several times, and the inventory is downright interesting. I suggest you take your Millenials and youngers and explain some of the stuff in there that you used to use. In attempt to forgo my usual weekend hunting of craft beer we stopped in... We decided to pop into M'Antiques on our way to Chicken Scratch. I'd driven by this place numerous times before but never ventured in. Im very happy to say we finally did! On your way in they greet you with a cold Miller High Life, not my usual libation of choice but hey it's free! Very solid sales tactic! I immediately felt like I should buy something haha. We found a few great treasures here, I was even able to knock a future Christmas gift out of the way for my Dad In-Law. Quite a good range of pieces, some priced high, some pretty affordable. If your like me and really dig "cool old stuff", turn off that Great American Pickers episode your watching, get your ass over to, MAntiques and Neat Stuff, Bishop Arts and live a little. On my first visit here, I spent an hour that felt like minutes, browsing through the coolest old gadgets, trinkets, furniture, signs, and more. The store offers self serve complimentary beer out of a restored old side bar, which makes for a refreshing browse through his extensive inventory. The shelving units, the walls, and backyard are bursting with every category you can think of, even parts of cars and missiles, vintage neon signs and snazzy bowties,etc,etc,etc. Something, if not a billion things at once will capture your attention at every turn. People know about him, so inventory does move, making "room" (somehow) for what I gather is an arsenol of excellent condition time capsules of history. The owner is a sweetheart that truely cares about his customers. He will gladly talk with you about an item, or the weather just the same. Give him a holler, tell'em I sent ya. Awesome shop, wild shopping experience. You could seriously browse here for hours and never stop finding weird, interesting new (or actually, old!) oddities to enjoy. They have a hidden little drawer marked "Nudes", full of pinups from the 1940s. They have a room full of army fatigues. They have taxidermy and typewriters and old mystery novels. And the owners make the browsing experience all the more enjoyable by offering you free Lone Star on tap when you walk in! Also 10% off a $50 purchase when you check in. It's a cute place with interesting items. The only thing that I thought was over priced was a set of cork lamps for around $700. Everything else (nick nacks and such) were around or under $50. The one thing I didn't like was the big group of older men at the entrance (owner and his friends I assume). M'Antiques was listed on the top 25 things for guys to do and I have to admit that I was greatly disappointed. My wife has dragged me to enough antique stores that I've been around the block so to speak, and I even LIKE exploring antique places. It's sort of like a treasure hunt. But first of all M'Antiques was small, especially for a top rated Antique Store. You go in and you've got basically two rooms and a yard. The product isn't any more varied than what you might find at any other antique store and I've literally seen better at some of the Antique Stores in both Denton and Carrollton - with more variety. If you are doing the Bishop Arts district M'Antiques isn't a bad place to stop. But heading there as a destination? No way. read more

One of my favorite evenings out with my wife is grabbing dinner somewhere in the Bishop Arts District, a slice of Pie at Emporium, and then an hour or two of strolling around M'Antiques sipping free beer and, invariably, spending way more money than I set out to. The guys that run the shop are extremely friendly, if a bit bad at haggling (I offered $135 for a piece and he insisted I take it for $132!), and the selection of cool old stuff is AWESOME. You're gonna get an extra star right off the bat when you get handed a free coldie as soon as you walk in the door. We always enjoy a good rummage through the wares at M'Antiques. Last time we were there I scooped up some great vinyl for $5 a pop. This time we didn't buy anything but we did take my folks in who were in town for the weekend and they had a blast as well. The selection seems to be growing, but just like any other store like this its always fluctuating. I think if they want to keep it interesting and things circulating prices might need to be adjusted. Don't get me wrong, there are some great things, but I would like to try and bring things home with me...prices are a bit much. It doesn't detour us, at least not yet. A few months ago, me and my buddy were driving around looking for something to do. We came across this place and stopped to check it out. Man were we blown away!! There is so much cool things at this place! Old tonka trucks, all kinds of vintage signs, tons of old playboys, old school barber shop stuff, tools, books, vending machines, you name it they have it!! Plus, the 2 guys there were AWESOME!! Even though they were very busy, they were very helpful and willing answer our questions. I can't wait to have a chance to drop by again. Definitely a spot I'd recommend to other guys. read more

Hmmm... I feel like this place has potential. I haven't written it off yet, because as is the nature of these types of stores, inventory revolves and changes. Sometimes the quality of offerings will be better than others. This was a time it wasn't so great, in my opinion. I guess I was expecting a little more like the American Pickers, if I may be so crass and silly as to say that. I found it to be a bit more like someone went into my grandpa's garage and decided to sell the contents. I found a few things that were interesting, but I did not purchase because the price was too high. $75 for a short, small clay container (I intended to plant my cats' wheat grass in it, strangely enough, to make myself sound like a crazy cat snooty lady). A rather ugly shade of green, but perfect for the intended application. I think it was worth more like $30-40, as there were no markings or anything to make it special. I'm always willing to haggle, but I'm not going to argue to half the price. I'll come back in a few months when the inventory has had time to rotate. read more

Cool collection of antiques for dudes. My favorite item I found here were the girl b&w photos.

I like the idea of cool old stuff and free beer. Some of the stuff was definitely cool. I got no beer. There was a prominently displayed Nazi flag- not really just selling Nazi stuff, but showing it to the world. In addition, there were "whites only" type signs over the exit. My ancestors (Americans) fought against the Nazi's and what they stood for. In addition, I'm as white as white gets, but- the racists signs? not cool. read more

Loved the alligator heads and the silver-plated alligator-gar head! There is even a "womens room" , although not nearly as interesting as the rest of the job. Will definitely bring my man back to this place. read more
