First, I don't live in this town but this park kept popping up on my feed as an uncommon wonder in Alabama, only 45 minutes from my house...how did I not know this?! Anyways, I took a nice ride to the town of Montevallo. Immediately, I saw families playing in the water, walking their dogs, sitting on the colorful swings, fishing and playing volleyball. What a great park to play, exercise and just enjoy yourself. There are plenty of benches and tables to sit, eat a meal, play board games, cards and/or relax and watch the flowing water or the bubbling waterfall. Now, let's get to the wonder of these tree carvings. Each tree is a unique piece of art. I can only imagine what goes through the minds of children as they walk through and see the faces and creatures that are so pronounced in these carvings...the stories that are formed in their little minds. Such a place to stretch your imagination! Anyone living in the area should definitely check out this park. I can only imagine the fun that takes place on this beautiful property.

We've been longtime campers here, and this was our first visit back since the renovations. All we…read morecan say is wow -- what a transformation! The park has gone from feeling like a 1950s campground to a true 21st-century RV destination, complete with all the conveniences you'd expect from a modern RV resort. The improvements are impressive: completely repaved roads, paved and mostly level sites, full hookups with 20/30/50 amp service, water, and sewer at every site. There are also plenty of spacious pull-thru sites that can easily accommodate large RVs and fifth wheels. The upgrades don't stop there. The park now features. WiFi, beautiful new restroom, and bathhouse facilities, along with new picnic tables and pavilions for day use. If you visited in the past and weren't impressed, it's definitely time to come back -- you'll be absolutely blown away by what they've done.

Riverfront Park is a 12 acre park that has a running/bike trail, a playground (butterfly…read moreplayground), benches, a splash pad, and one of the best views of the Pettus Bridge that you will find. What it does not have is a bathroom, and the large building that is part of the park is fenced off and under construction. The park is not very well maintained and in dire need of TLC. They just recently added the butterfly playground in 2017, so it is pretty much modern equipment and has swings, a few slides, and tetter-totters. It is accessible, but not very big. One of my complaints about the park is that some of the benches look right into some heavy brush and does not have much of a view. I was tettering between a 3 and 4 rating. Howver, the view of the bridge and the history of the park pushed me to a 4. The park has ample parking up top on the street overlooking the park. I hope the city is able to reinvest in this park and bring it back to life. It is a very quiet and peaceful park. I enjoyed the time that I spent there and

He gave us lots of information about the cave's history, took pictures of us, gave us time to look around at features he pointed out and answered all of our questions. I have trouble with tight spaces and this didn't bother me at all. The cave is very open and wide. There was a beautiful laser show at the end, we saw the liberty show and it was breathtaking. We enjoyed our visit and Josiah made everyone feel welcome and appreciated.

Cahaba Lily park is a small city funded park in Helena. It boasts 3 picnic pavilions, one large…read morepiece of playground equipment with varied activities, a miniature version for younger kids, a set of 4 swings, a few walking trails through the surrounding woods and football field sized open area in the center. The open area is frequently used for inflatables, tossing a ball around or just running around. The park is a popular venue for younger children's bday parties, in which you'll usually see an aforementioned inflatables. I've also been to a couple little league parties for t-ball, pee wee football etc... There is a clean nice block his and hers restroom facility onsite, which is nice. The walking trails are well maintained and easily maneuvered. This park is considerably smaller than Joe Tucker (which we frequent) and the immense Veteran's park in Alabaster. However if your little one needs to burn a little energy after school this place will work in a pinch and generally isn't very crowded. The smaller crowds are especially nice if you are attempting to host an event such as a young child's birthday party.
