This review is longgg overdue, but better later than never! My little chihuahua, Princess, and I…read morewere clients of Run And Play for an entire year. The only reason e stopped service was because we relocated to New York City. I was a new dog owner, and initially wasn't giving my chi a potty break midday. With DC traffic this became increasingly stressful because I couldn't predict when I'd be home and didn't want her holding her bladder all day! After talking to a lot of walkers, I met Jennifer and the rest is history. Jennifer came over, met P, and talked to me generally about dog ownership & her services. Jennifer is super knowledgeable and a compassionate person for people and animals - this was so helpful because it put me at ease with giving someone access to my house & my new puppy!! Jennifer assigned us Jimmy as a walker - and that was P's BFF from that day forward. Jimmy is such a good human, would txt me updates, if needed, and treated Princess ...like a literal Princess! He was always on time, always communicative, and if the rate case he couldn't cover a walk, Jennifer took her out! They even convinced my little chi to potty in the rain & snow (something I struggle with to this day). Eventually some route changes kicked in and Isa was our walker. Isa was so sweet as well, and helped me fit P in a proper harness (which is tough for the little ones) in addition to being prompt & communicative! Additionally Jennifer sends consistent updates to clients through the portal, it's flexible with scheduling, and send a super cute newsletter with helpful information - esp for first time dog owners. Overall, Run and Play is the best pet care service in southern Maryland area! We were so sad to leave such good people and I highly believe trusting Jennifer with your fur babies is a great choice. 10/10 would recommend!

Totally trustworthy, reliable, and kind - everything you could possibly ask for. I'm sad we moved away from their service area. My little boogerheads will miss them!!

Six weeks into the ten-week class, after 10:00 p.m. on a Friday night, they tell us our dog cannot participate in two agility activities they will be teaching without a vet sign-off. I understood the abundance of caution. And then two weeks later, just before our appointment at the vet, our pup went into her season and she could not attend the last two classes. We tried sending my daughter with my granddaughter so they could watch the last class, but the instructor was very rude to her and basically let her know they were not welcome to observe, even though we had paid to attend. The class ended, and we wanted to continue forward with agility, but the trainers refused us, reiterating we would need a vet sign-off and no, they won't hold a spot for us. And just now I received Ann email basically saying we're no longer welcome in their club, because I have a "tone and tenor" about their "reasonable request." A, I never once said I didn't think the request was reasonable, and B, as the class does not begin until January that gives us plenty of time to get to the vet for a sign-off. Very unprofessional, inconsiderate, rude, I can go on...

This is technically…read morethe 2nd bad review I've given this office and this time, I'm not taking it down until I'm completely satisfied that this office can do better. Every time I've needed something from this office, they've failed me. I've been using this vet for over a year and I *thought* Gage was covered for all his preventions. After 3 visits and nearly $2000 later I realize that--no, he wasn't. He wasn't covered for hook- or heartworms for that entire year. All because they didn't include that medication in his medication portal--even though we talked about it and I brought up his past preventions. I didn't notice this was an issue because the meds I *did* buy came with the logo of the one I apparently didn't and even the vets and doctors didn't catch it. Now my dog is in a revolving door of gastrointestinal issues and NONE of the medications this vet has prescribed seem to work. Not only this, but every time I come into this office they try to upsell me on something I've never asked for, things I've never heard of, supplements I don't need, etc. Before ever getting the meds I asked for, this vet tried to get me to pay for 2 different supplements that I've never heard of. Big surprise, on a recent trip, I forgot to bring those supplements but did bring the arthritis meds and lo and behold, the meds work and the supplements weren't necessary. Just several hundred dollars down the drain. This office literally has ONE LAST CHANCE to not completely let me down. If I don't leave my next visit 100% happy and with a noticeably healthier dog, I'm changing vets, and might even consider a lawsuit. Seriously, how do you leave my dog UNPROTECTED FROM PARASITES FOR A FULL YEAR while charging me thousands!!?

Got there a few minutes early, they make you wait outside! You have to call to tell them you're there. It's 85 degrees! So they "let" me wait inside. When they vet finally came in (15 minutes late) the first thing she said to me was they like to do a full blood panel on dogs over 8 years old and she would discuss the estimate with me. DIDN'T EVEN LOOK AT MY DOG! I just saw a big money grab coming. Called my old vet and have an appointment in 4 days, no deposit required. I never do this but just wanted to warn people. I'm happy people have had great experiences, the pets are the most important.
