They did not call me to ask if this was ok or to inform me that this would be happening so I was quite surprised and upset when they told me this and informed me I now had about a $600 bill. Before you arrive: Making and confirming the appointment was a peace of cake with the online system. I had no trouble at all and was able to successfully submit all pre-checkup forms. When I called to ask random questions, the workers were helpful and friendly. Arriving: The individual at the desk (Rae) was lovely, and immediately greeted me and my pet. She came over to give love to my precious cat and made us both feel more comfortable for our first time. She offered us coffee and tea as we waited to be taken back. The area was spacious and clean, despite it being a rainy day, so it was a comfortable space to pause. The appointment: Nia to care of us before the doctor and was incredibly welcome and gentle with my cat. She coaxed him out of his shell with a treat and answered any initial questions I had. It was a quick bond as my cat warmed up to her and she kept him comfortable throughout the exam. Dr. Germann came in and was incredibly kind and informative. She educated me on important kitty care topics (weight, teeth, nails) that can always be brushed up on. She was super friendly and obviously had a lot of love for cats! Her and Nia gave special, comforting care as they gave shots and got us ready to go. After appointment: Payment was easy and straightforward. They gave me all of the information straight to email so I knew when I would have to come back and what to do in the meantime. Also note that they will remind you when shots are needed for your pet! I hate this place. I'm giving them one last chance to do right by my dog Gage. This is technically…read morethe 2nd bad review I've given this office and this time, I'm not taking it down until I'm completely satisfied that this office can do better. Every time I've needed something from this office, they've failed me. I've been using this vet for over a year and I *thought* Gage was covered for all his preventions. After 3 visits and nearly $2000 later I realize that--no, he wasn't. He wasn't covered for hook- or heartworms for that entire year. All because they didn't include that medication in his medication portal--even though we talked about it and I brought up his past preventions. I didn't notice this was an issue because the meds I *did* buy came with the logo of the one I apparently didn't and even the vets and doctors didn't catch it. Now my dog is in a revolving door of gastrointestinal issues and NONE of the medications this vet has prescribed seem to work. Not only this, but every time I come into this office they try to upsell me on something I've never asked for, things I've never heard of, supplements I don't need, etc. Before ever getting the meds I asked for, this vet tried to get me to pay for 2 different supplements that I've never heard of. Big surprise, on a recent trip, I forgot to bring those supplements but did bring the arthritis meds and lo and behold, the meds work and the supplements weren't necessary. Just several hundred dollars down the drain. This office literally has ONE LAST CHANCE to not completely let me down. If I don't leave my next visit 100% happy and with a noticeably healthier dog, I'm changing vets, and might even consider a lawsuit. Seriously, how do you leave my dog UNPROTECTED FROM PARASITES FOR A FULL YEAR while charging me thousands!!?

I followed my excellent independent vet to this practice a couple of years ago and he had since…read moreretired. What I noticed was a proliferation of emails encouraging me to buy things from this practice, but not an improvement in the medical care my pets have received. In particular, my diabetic cat has twice had two hypoglycemic events that almost killed him based on the dosing of insulin recommended by the vets at this clinic. I got better advice from a FB Feline Diabetes support group. The last time this happened in August of 2026, it took days for anyone to get back to me and it was a largely unhelpful email. Next, I called the clinic after my other cat started drooling blood. They suggested taking him to emergency, who didn't have a veterinarian who could handle what I thought was a dental issue. When I was finally able to get an appointment, the vet said it was an abscess. Then he wanted to do bloodwork in case he had a thyroid issue and in case I wanted dental work, which my cat was in no shape for--his face was swollen. They gave me a five-day series of an antibiotic, which they said he needed to be on for two weeks--which left me trying to get a refill. They dragged their feet approving the refill ($58 from them, $9.65 from Chewy). I was very upset because my cat went for two days without medication. I called later in the week. My cat was now drooling blood with tissue in it and they asked if he was in pain. I asked why they hadn't addressed that when I first brought him in and they said they thought it would get better as the "infection" cleared. When I picked up the second round of meds, I let them know how unhappy I was and that I no longer trusted their expertise. I went to another vet for my cat's alleged oral issue only to find out it is a likely terminal bony lesion--how the vet failed to do an X-ray and sent my cat home with way less medication he needed, no pain control, and no follow up is remarkable. Fairland is now owned by a private equity firm so the agenda is not pet care--it is profit. You cannot get a same day or emergency appointment from this clinic. The phone is answered by an AI named Benny who can't tell he difference between one medication or another. They market the hell out of you to buy expensive food and flea control, but gouge you on medications you really need while dragging their feet approving the same medication where you could purchase it cheaper. They do not care if they incorrectly diagnose or incorrectly prescribe--they care about profit. My cats have both suffered from their lack of concern. They will terminate your relationship with them if you give them a bad review. They were really pissed that other clients heard my anger. I'll bet they're wondering if their animals are getting quality care. A vet who can't tell a tumor from a dental issue surely isn't delivering that.

I've started calling around to get an idea for what the average or 'range' of either procedure is. When talking to the clinic rep, they said the vet 'prefers' developing a closer relationship with the animals first (paraphrasing) before they can tell me what it might cost. So they'd need a check-up despite having gotten one the week before. Really? A healthy young cat in need of spay/neuter is between 5-12 lbs. depending on the sex. You'd think after doing a few hundred--or a few thousand--such procedures that a vet clinic would get a 'feel' for what the average cost is. A previous vet elsewhere charged me $150 to do a check-up on my cats--basically weigh them and stick a thermometer in their rectums--before his assistant could tell me it was upwards of $480 for a boy and $920 for a girl. How do I as a customer trust this vet or any other when they can't give an average? Btw, anyone wonder why there are so many strays and litters of puppies and kittens in need of a good home? Look no further.
