We have been at Cityville on 9th for 9 months. Downtown living means there is street noise but the walls are well insulated minimizing any neighbor or street noise. The floors appear less insulated but we're pretty sure we just have noisy upstairs neighbors. The grounds and amenities are well kept including the dog park, grills, gym, movie theater, and commons area. Neighbors and staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Neighbors are considerate and the buildings are restricted for security. The Senior Leasing Agent is the best in the business being straightforward, prompt, and friendly for all of our needs. Maintenance has been prompt, very helpful, and extremely considerate. Cityville puts you within walking distance of downtown, trail access to Gray's Lake, and a balcony view of Principal Park fireworks (from ours at least). Overall we have been very happy to call Cityville home. read more

Moved in June 2018 and am very happy with my decision. I am in grad school and am able to study in my apartment every day/night with little to no noise disturbances. There is a study room in the clubhouse that is available to rent out along with cinema and the clubhouse as a whole which I have taken advantage! Free coffee/tea station is a big bonus along with free parking. I have filled out maintenance requests and they have responded that same day or the next. The staff is great and replies to emails in a very timely fashion. They also do a lot of fun activities and socials for residents that involve free food and drinks. The grills on the patio are awesome in the summer and they are currently building a pool. Overall, I absolutely love living here and would recommend it to anybody moving to Des Moines. read more

This complex is absolutely the best place to live downtown! Its close to all of the fun bars and restaurants and within walking distance to Principal Park and Fuzzy's Tacos. Yet it is far enough away from downtown that you don't have to pay extra for parking and you don't really hear things like the train, sirens or loud music from the bars. The staff is great and the apartments are very nice and new. The appliances are all very energy efficient, so the electric and water bills are never too outrageous. The complex also has some cool features like a movie theatre with built in Apple TV, a free pool table and exercise facility. It is also a fairly quite complex, aside from the occasional neighbor noise. For as many units as there are, I really don't see many people out and about. read more

My roommate and I lived at Cityville for about two years, and while we loved our apartment and all the amenities, we consistently had issues with management. The property managers seem to change every couple of months, they're difficult to get in contact with through the app we're required to use, and it's all very impersonal and simply not a great experience. They also have a lot of extra fees at move-out that were not well described when we moved in. So while we did have a great experience in the actual apartment we lived in, I would say the not-so-friendly, and often unorganized, management is not worth it. (I will say the maintenance workers are GREAT though. Easily the most helpful people that work there.) read more

I'm new to Cityville, and I really enjoy being here. The location is perfect for my downtown shenanigans (and work too, I guess!), and I've never seen a dog friendlier apartment building. My little guy is spoiled rotten with the on-site dog park and a treat or two when I get my free morning coffee at the community Keurig. Management is on-site and very reachable and attentive. Appliances are wonderfully new and modern (in unit washer/dryers are quite the selling point), and although I live in a studio, it doesn't feel at all cramped-- ample storage. I hear there is soon to be a patio, which I can't wait for. It is definitely a growing community, and the perks keep coming. read more

Cityville is a great place to live. I had been searching for an apartment near downtown that I would feel safe at while living alone and a place that is also pet friendly. Cityville is just that. They have a very large dog park and are also building a pool! Since the day I got the tour I have been impressed with the professionalism as well as how proactive the staff is to ensure every resident is comfortable living here. Service requests are taken care of quickly. The walls are also thick enough to where I rarely ever hear any neighbors. I would recommend living here to everyone. read more

New apartment building. Overall good condition. Cheaply built like all apartment conplexes in downtown area but this is not new. Ver loud neighbor that blast music all hours of thr day and night. Not a fault of the community, they just dont have a complaint form you can fill out for the complex, only a maintenance form online. Great amenities. Did say theyd break ground on the pool in august and didnt get to it until this november. Makes me concern they wont do the new gym by january like they promised. Much better then my place on the other side of town so no major complaints. read more

I love coming home to a place that appreciates its residents, both human and furry! I'm personally a dog-lover so I love that there is a play area for them. I've never noticed any nuisances with the dogs and the apartments are always clean. Any time I needed to contact someone, they were right there when I called or responded in a very timely manner, if I wrote. My neighbors are friendly without being nosy. Overall, I would recommend this place for people who like seeing happy animals around and for having a newer, nicer place to call home. read more

I have lived at Cityville for about 6 months now and I absolutely LOVE it! The management is very professional and respond quickly to any requests or needs. I put in a maintenance order and they were there the next day to fix my problem. The apartments are brand new and very nice. Great location for young professionals because it is close to downtown. There is a bus stop close to the complex to ride to work. I have indoor parking and couldn't live without it. The facilities you have access to as a resident make it worth every penny. read more

Cityville has the best amenities! They have free parking, great clubhouse facilities including a movie theater and workout center, a dog park, building a new pool, and they plan residents events every week. Overall I highly recommend this place to friends and family. It is nice being close to downtown with all these amenities- which is hard to find! There are so many perks and benefits for being a resident here. They always have free stuff and deals and coupons for local businesses. We just got free admission and skate rentals to Brenton skating plaza! And next week there will be an ugly Christmas sweater party in the community center! The community center is awesome. It has free coffee and tea, computers, a movie theatre and a pool table. It's a great space to entertain family and friends. I am glad to be a resident here! read more

We have been living here for over half a year and have enjoyed it. The staff is helpful and friendly. Maintenance requests are very timely. Everything is new construction so the appliances and finishes are of high quality. You can't beat the location if you are wanting to live in downtown Des Moines. It is far enough out from the court ave district that it is very quiet yet everything downtown is within walking distance. The bike path system is very close by as well. read more

Living at Cityville has been a wonderful experience! I love the location and all the amenities. Finding a pet friendly apartment downtown without weight restrictions was impossible until I found Cityville and am so glad I did, not to mention that it features a dog park on site. Staff are extremely nice and helpful. Any maintenance issues that may arise are taken care of almost immediately after you report them. We moved in a few months ago and CityVille has been great. The staff are all really helpful and respond to my emails and phone calls right away. The clubhouse is great and we have reserved a few times for parties and get togethers with friends. PLUS they are building a pool, which should be ready in time for next summer. I just recently moved here, one of the best decisions I've made. I love living in the downtown area, as it has everything you need just min away. Cityville offers great amenities such as the fitness center, community center, dog park and a pool that will be open next summer all for a reasonable price.
