Still a wonderful facility, but their check in and registration is a complete joke and it's normal…read moreto wait 10 minutes or more just to pay for drop in swimming. No separate lines organized for people registering for programs, vs those who are just in for a drop in. It's normal for all staff to be occupied with mothers who are deciding on which sports programs to enrol their family in.

Cassie Campbell, or better known as the Wellness Centre's twin…read more The reason I say that is because the layout for both of them is basically identical. However, perhaps because it is newer, Cassie Campbell is a little nicer. What I like about it is the giant glass walls that allow you to see outside. It really makes the place seem bigger and non-claustorphobic. The layout of the gym consists of all the workout equipment in the centre, and a track circling around, with the corners available for stretching exercises. Basically every piece of equipment one could need is here, and then some. The membership fees are reasonable. I bought a month pass which is only $40 if you are a student, otherwise its closer to $50. For a one time pass it's $7 for a student and closer to $10 if you are not a student. There are also a lot of other activities and classes since it's a community centre; however, I can only comment on the gym part since that's all I really used. If you are looking for a place to workout, I recommend at least trying out this gym, you might end up loving it. Warning, depending on which side you come from on Chinguacousy you may have to pull a U-Turn to get inside the parking lot lol. . . but bonus though, if you buy a pass to any Brampton city gym, you gain access to all their gyms.

In terms of value, this was the BEST option for me as a replacement gym. Post-Pandemic, my old gym…read moreincreased their prices 3Xs and didn't bother to honour my membership cost as a client of many years, so I had to take my business elsewhere! Looking at the gyms within a 10 - max 15min - drive, there weren't many options for me. The nearby chain gyms were just way too crowded/younger, bro crowd and the other box gyms were CrossFit places which wasn't what I was looking for. So weighing my options, I decided to sign up at my local community centre. Despite being an older centre, this place basically has everything INCLUDING group classes like yoga, Zumba, and a bunch of other things. The centre itself has a pool, skating rink, courts for pickleball, basketball, and a weight room. Outside, there's a skate park, basketball court, beach volleyball court, & various soccer fields. Of course, it's surrounded by various parks, trails, and there's even a private tennis club around the back. So far, so good, people at the front desk seem very nice. Of course the experience of the classes will vary depending on the instructor. And right now, the fitness classes aren't in a stellar studio due to kids Summer camps taking over the entire place! So hopefully that'll change once the kiddos are back to school. Membership prices are MORE than reasonable and they even include the fitness classes which is an absolute bonus! Weight room is small, but every time that I've walked by, it is almost empty. No one filming themselves or annoyingly flexing in the mirror to check if the few pumps of iron has made their arms grow! It's an older crowd, but at this point, I welcome that as opposed to the former gym bro crowd. There is also a discount for Seniors AND if another family member signs up!

There is an old inflatable bounce-thingy for the kids to go in, but something is wrong with it and it keep deflating (with kids inside) so they had a person standing there holding their hand (over the tear?) to keep it open and semi-pumped up. The laser tag was an expensive add-on to the price at the door, but you might find it's probably not worth it. There is a GIANT plastic habitrail in the back of the building. But for all my complaining, I asked my kids how they liked it on the way out, and they said it was AWESOME, so extra star for that. Maybe close it down for a few days and soak everything in bleach guys.

I spent $50 for him to play games and the little rides unfortunately a number of the games were broken then I ordered lunch. We had 2 hotdog meals and 1hamburger meal waited 45 minutes for this and the hotdogs were shriveled up, the hamburger had hard grit in it the fries were ice cold and we were missing an order of fries it was another 20 minutes for that and they were hard and burnt. Definitely not worth the $36 price tag the staff was not helpful and we're more interested in having their own social time. I would not recommend coming here very bad service, food and definitely not the worth the money.

The Goulash Chronicles: A Descent into Aquatic Purgatory I…read morehave returned from the brink, though a piece of my soul remains trapped in the filter of the YMCA shallow end. For those tracking my descent into madness, prepare yourselves for a tale of liquid treachery and the most disinterested deity to ever wear a polyester whistle. The Treacherous Shallows My journey began following a grueling session with my interpretive hopscotch league. I was seeking the baptismal clarity of the pool; instead, I found a lukewarm grave. I stepped into the shallow end--a depth so pathetic it barely dampened my shins--and promptly began to perish. It was a feat of anatomical impossibility. I was drowning in what was essentially a glorified puddle, my dignity dissolving faster than a cheap bouillon cube. Every desperate splash was a testament to my own physical incompetence, a silent scream for a God who had clearly clocked out for lunch. The Human Tsunami Enter Abdula: a child of such monumental, gravitational presence that his mere entry into the water caused a localized sea-level rise. Abdula did not swim; he displaced. His rolls functioned as organic flotation devices that defied both the laws of physics and the Geneva Conventions. He was a whirling dervish of "fat-chud energy," flailing with a smugness that suggested he knew his sheer mass would eventually beach me like a tragic, hopscotching whale. The Goulash God And then, there was The Sentinel. A towering, golden-haired colossus of questionable Eastern European origin--a man who radiated the "musty gym locker" chic of a disgraced Olympic shot-putter. Perched atop his throne like a bored Roman emperor, he managed a feat of multitasking that would make Gordon Ramsay weep. In one hand: a steaming bowl of industrial-grade goulash. In the other: a cracked iPhone, where he was aggressively day-trading crypto with the frantic energy of a man who had already lost his house. As Abdula's tidal waves threatened to consume my very existence, our "hero" didn't reach for a buoy. He reached for a spoon. He sat there, stirring his stew with a rhythmic, soul-crushing indifference. He watched me gasp for air in four inches of water, locked eyes with my fading soul, whispered a solemn "Walahi," and returned to his failing portfolio. The scent of paprika and despair hung heavy in the humid air. The Verdict Eventually, the universe grew bored of mocking me, and I crawled onto the tiles, shivering and defeated. Abdula remained, a glorious, floating island of chaos. The lifeguard didn't offer a towel; he merely grunted at a particularly nasty dip in the Ethereum markets and took another bite of his meat-slurry. Ambiance: Damp basement meets high-stakes gambling den. Safety: Non-existent, unless you can be rescued by a flying potato. The Lifeguard: A professional gatekeeper of death who prioritizes stew over stewardship. Final Rating: * 5 Stars for the existential crisis. 0 Stars for the rescue. Infinity Stars for Abdula's majestic, physics-defying girth. Beware the Shallows. Beware the Goulash. Walahi.
