I've sent a request for a quote to find my property's lines in Portland Estates where it's fairly easy to do. My neighbour paid $600 for this kind of service.
The guy named Tom Giovannetti, responded by saying that the quote would be
"...from $1900 to $2300+HST. If we see that there are missing markers we can quote you the additional change - usually $350 one survey marker $450 for 2 markers)..."
So to find my naked eye identifiable property lines might cost me as much as whopping ~ $2 800 !! I thought like the quote was torn from reality. I replied to Tom that his quote was offensive and unjustifiable. No personal offence was made by me at any time. Here is what I wrote:
"Thank you for your response, however your fee is just offensive. How you even can justify $2000 for 10 min job."
Tom responded with a snappy text adorned by a personal threat by the end:
"It takes 7 years to get a survey license and charge $160/hr...
You are Barking up the wrong tree man
Good luck.getting it done cheap
Suggest you should be careful on how you share your quasi slanderous insult..."
Message to Tom. From all other reviews it looks like I am not the first customer who is upset with your prices. Maybe it is high time you learnt from it and adjusted? Or at least find a right response for the customers upset with your quotes. Here is one that used by many PROFESSIONAL companies across many industries:
"I am very sorry you feel this way. Or company works hard to deliver a competitive and high quality service. All of our employees are certified and licensed professionals with many years of experience in the industry. If you ever change your mind we will be always happy to work with you".
