This is going to be a long review but I think its worth it to know the facts about the building…read moreprocess with JonesCo before hiring them for your next project. We signed the paperwork to have JonesCo build a detached garage with an office space for myself on March 11th, 2021. It was over 3 months until any work started on site. The excavators arrived on June 22nd to clear and grade the land. The invoice we received after this was done included an additional 11 hours of excavation time and 20 loads of gravel amounting to $10,102 in additional costs, adding an additional 20% to the total cost of the build. The site then sat vacant for another 6 weeks until the concrete was poured on August 16th, 2021. The concrete that was poured was not graded correctly so any water from snow on rain on my car doesn't flow towards the door or into any drain (which they didn't install either) but to the inside wall of the garage and pools there so I need to have quick dams and squeegee the floor whenever I pull the car in and it is wet. Despite there being a pocket door outlined in the plans from JonesCo for the bathroom, they didn't actually install a pocket door and a traditional swing door was installed. The framing was completed around August 26th relatively soon after the concrete was poured but then the site again was left sitting until October 6th when they finally returned to do the insulation. The garage then sat vacant again until November 28th when the drywallers came to hang drywall. During all of these long gaps in work, there were multiple calls and emails to Randy and Mike at JonesCo with some emails not being replied to for days or not receiving any reply and needing to send another email or make a phone call. When we finally were approaching the end of the build in December 2021 I provided a list of deficiencies, doors there were dented, exterior doors not hung properly so there were gaps and cold air coming in, and damage to finished flooring from door installations. In the end JonesCo did provide some credits for these but they did decide to end the contract before completing the installation on the fixtures in the bathroom. I agreed to a $500 credit for the bathroom and Mike (the owner) advised that that should be enough to have a toilet and sink installed and hooked up. Well, we finally hired a plumber to do the work and it was estimated at $1,800 to complete the work as JonesCo did not install the framing in the wall to hang the sink (resulting in the purchase of a brand new vanity) the hole in the floor for the toilet was not the right size so the concrete needed to be chipped out and they did not make the drain running to the septic tall enough so the gravel from underneath the slab had packed into it needing to be flushed out and an extension added to actually hook it up. The floor was also so uneven they had to craft shims to make sure it wouldn't rock around. Also, after having this garage for over 12 months now there are still air gaps and cold air coming around the exterior doors, with ice buildup around certain areas even with a dehumidifier running and keeping the humidity under 45%. My home had doors and windows installed 5 years ago by Metro Windows and Door and this doesn't happen. In summary, this build took over 10 months to complete and the poor communication, unprofessionalism and quality of work would prevent me from ever suggesting anyone use JonesCo to do any construction work whatsoever. However, good luck if you do cause you will need a ton of patience and I recommend budgeting more than what they quote you.

They are not that knowledgeable about flooring, tiling, implementing bathrooms. In fact, stay away from bathrooms with these guys. Bathrooms are not their thing. But if you want nice cabinets and work-work done, even painting, they are great at it. Do not count on reliability however, they often do not respond to your e-mails and texts, and in fact, left our renovation incomplete. They did not even respond when our son died, and because we were having family coming, we needed the renovation finished and at the very least, the toilet that they first installed and it didn't work and they left in our rec-room, removed. We had to call someone else to remove it for us. They made many mistakes, such as, not leveling the floor before putting the flooring down, therefore, they had to remove it all, and redo the floor. The plumbing and toilet was installed and the toilet backed up into the shower. They had to completely remove everything and build the floor up in order for the toilet to work. It still didn't work, so they had to buy a new toilet system. I could go on. Paul and Bill however are nice guys, and I just wish they had been communicative and talked with us. They lost money I know, yet, I hoped they would have learned something from this experience.
