It's the most…read moreexpansive public park I've come across and I heard this is merely stage one, there's still a 3 kidney bowl to come.. that may be worth a trip for me from New York when it's done if the caliber of flow and construction is anything like the skate plaza. The park is wide open with no fence (hope it stays that way), creating a super inviting vibe. The concrete is well poured and as a result, beautifully smooth.. just pushing around it's amazing to hear your bearings singing with little pavement noise. The park is very well designed and totally possible to flow it end to end with countless lines, not to mention totally bangin one hitter spots if you're the type to keep trying one trick until you nail it (as was the case with most of the groms there the day I was). You can really get into whatever type of session you want.. I loved hitting the various wallride transfers and cruisin the park old head style, but there were cats layin down 8' drops down the big banks at the back and kids throwin kickflip crooks on the low ledges. Hopefully Ashbridges will stay clean of bad graffiti and the attention that comes with it, if not at least for better backgrounds in footage and photos. This IS a destination skatepark, take care of it.

The street section is also mostly advanced, not much fun if you aren't a good/very good skater, some ramps/higher incline would have been nice. I've been a few times and have no desire to return. Honestly it's smaller but I think 8th St in Etobicoke is a far better park, so is Iceland in Mississauga.

The location has shaded areas around the building and Astro turf. If you can't find parking, go park at the mall and walk it. The location is accessible, with ramps for strollers. I've been at this location as a volunteer, as an award recipient and a regular patron enjoying events. It's a great location for events with many ways to "exit" a crowded area. This location is stroller and wheel chair friendly.

They are really popular and busy (especially in the summer). Parking is shared with Square One and residential/corporate buildings. It might be hard to find for the most part. Some of parking (by residential/corporate buildings) aren't free or have some kind of restrictions. If you don't to use the parking lots, I would suggest using public transit, car pooling or parking nearby and walking over. The skating rink was a pleasant surprise to me. I didn't realize that there was one up till a few years ago. High school students can get their some of their volunteer hours at events. They just need to apply and fill out a form through the city site.

Lovely park with lots to do! We were visiting the in-laws in Welland and was told that a brand new…read moresplash pad opened in June, so we took our toddlers there on a hot Saturday morning and the kids had a blast! The water wasn't super cold and was a perfect way to stay cool in the 30+ temps. There was a variety of spouts that little hands can spin/rotate and another area that has mushroom-like structures where the water comes down from above, in addition to the sprays that come from the ground. The water structures were spaced apart and the splash pad was spacious enough to avoid the kids from running into each other. There's also restrooms in a community center close by. In addition to the newly installed splash pad, the park has a large pond where ducks hang out (see pic), with a couple of "houses" installed in the center of the pond for the ducks to chill out on. There's several beach volleyball courts, a toddler playground that needs updating (it has a small climbing thing with small slides and a few swings), a newer playground that was a bit further off from the splash pad (we didn't play there but it looks fun and new), open grasslands, picnic tables that are covered (you'll probably need to book these through the the city). If you're in Welland and have kids, this is a great park to take the kids to! I hear that the duck pond freezes over and turns into a skating rink in the winter.

This sporting goods store has it all!!…read more Its nice to have a community oriented store which prides themselves on customer service and pays close attention to the customers needs. Most big box stores and corporate sporting goods companies unfortunately have no clue about customer service/relations, they would rather bring you in, sell you whatever they can and move onto the next customer without actually catering to your needs and best interests. Its crucial, most especially when it comes to fitting equipment, that the gear fits right, otherwise it can result in injury or poor performance. Equally with regards to skates, if the skates don't fit correctly, this could result in physical issues with ankles, knees, hips or the lower back... not something to compromise, most especially in youngsters and youth while their bodies are growing and taking form. Even their skate sharpening is second to none! CLP Sports is a community landmark business, having established huge credibility and respect, not only in the Clarkson/Lorne Park area of Mississauga, but also throughout Mississauga, the Toronto GTA, across Canada, the US and even Europe. Why have they remained in business for so long and how have they gained so much respect? Simply because their main focus, as with most corporations is not on "the bottom line, its concentrated in providing the best customer service and providing the best products at the most competitive prices. Sure, you can go out to a big box store and possibly find cheaper products, but cheaper isn't always better, most especially when there is no integrity behind the service. Show your support to CLP Sports and independent businesses, its small business owners who established this country!

If they do not have a desired model in, they will have it brought in within a couple of days, and they provide competitive price matching.
