My wife and I stopped by this Claire store inside Topanga Westfield Mall to look at earrings for our baby daughter. We got our daughter ears pierced at another Claire location so we wanted to see the earring options when we want to change them. There was only one lady working when we came to the store. We were the only guest inside and she let us browse in peace. They kept the earring display near the checkout counter. We saw the one we got our daughter on there and now have an idea which one we want when we plan to change it out. read more

I've always heard bad reviews about Claires piercings but chose to ignore. Please please don't. I got my second piercing and honestly the piercer was fine; she went higher as per my request with the piercing, gave me great insight on which earrings would look best, etc etc. However, a big red flag was when she opened the drawer to start and pulled out a whole plastic bag full of piercing guns. These did not look new and they were all different colors and brands idk it wasn't to be trusted. From my understanding, piercing guns are supposed to be single use as they are difficult to sterilize but I think I just trusted that it would be fine. As a result.... my ears are in so much pain with both sides are completely infected (yes I used the solution very very thoroughly twice a day). Unfortunately, I also chose a smaller size earring and the skin surrounding it has become so swollen and full of puss that it is kinda swallowing the earring so essentially it feels like the earring is completely flat or like apart of my ear. I don't even care abt whats going on but it hurts so bad and is preventing me from sleeping well. I think I paid around $80 for the entire service, cost of earrings, and the solution. I definitely would do your research and find another alternative-- preferably with an actual needle since it's supposed to have a better healing process or something idk. I'm not mad. Terrible experience. Pierced my baby's ears less than a week ago and both earrings have fallen out while she slept. Called the store and they told me that the earrings shouldn't have fallen out and should have been very secure on her ears and I could come back and have them re do it at full price. The associate agreed that it is insane to have me come back and pay full price again when the earrings should have been secure and were not but that is the policy nonetheless. Unreal when you've paid nearly $100 for the service. What a joke. read more

Came in today bc my 5yo has been asking since her birthday to get her ears pierced. She was so excited and then it took a turn as she realized it is a piercing. Misa, who was working today, was so extremely kind, caring, and tentative towards her. She went above and beyond while also tending to and greeting other customers. Horrible customer service. I went to claires to pierce a 4th hole in my ear. i pierced my ears and they were so close to my 3rd ear! I spoke to them they said they would fix the issue, went there again few days later, The manager pierced them both not aligned! What a horrible experience. I got my money back, I wrote corporate what happened, they did not offer anything but an apology. I asked for a 50% coupon to use to get them repierced at the sherman oaks location, that was the promo going at the time, they said they can NOT offer anything, even after waisting my time twice for a horrible ear piecing‍ read more

Came in on a WEEKEND Sunday 1/5/25 at 11:30am. There was only one person working. Waited 15 minutes at the register just to purchase something because the only person working there was doing piercings. Not once did the register lady acknowledge that I was waiting neither did she apologize for the wait. I understand your short staff but, the acknowledgement and apology go a long way. read more

We love Claire's Topanga. My 8-year old buys so many things there and I even find lots of things I love... but this review is for their birthday parties! I bet you didn't even know that they had birthday parties there. But they do...and they are the best! We had the party on a Sunday morning before the store/mall opened at 9 AM, they cleared the racks out and they did hair (spray colors) make-up/face gems, and nails for the girls. Kayla, Jason and Ale did an amazing job, entertaining the kids with games, beauty, activities, and shopping. We provided the kids with gift cards and they had a blast. I highly recommend this fun place for regular shopping and for your child's birthday party! read more

Incredibly bad service. I bought a pair of earring for my daughter here . The piercing both went septic in a day . It was very painful for my daughter . We almost had to go to a doctor to get them removed . We waited for it to heal then went back and we're told we couldn't even get a discount for ear piercings . Many places give free piercings with earrings . These people would not even honor a discount. The y are lucky we are not suing them for the pain caused by. Unbelievably bad service read more

I would give this store 0 starts if I could. I had a horrific and frustrating customer experience with Claire's Westfield Topanga Mall with the employee who was closing the store last night (which unfortunately I did not get their name as I was frustrated) and the manager Alejandra. I had purchased my order online to pick up in store yesterday, Monday, the 20th. I then received another email saying that my order was ready for pick up. I was planning to pick up the purchased items today, Tuesday, the 21st. BUT I then later received a message shortly after that my product was already picked up. Someone obviously picked up my purchased product because it was still Monday and that most certainly was not me. I am assuming some employee there didn't even ask for the order number or name like they are supposed to. This was strike one. Once I received the email that the purchased item was received (which was not picked up by me), I called the store two hours before closing and the employee on the phone stated that they were closing and could not help me. The store wasn't even closed yet it was two hours prior to closing. I am familiar with that mall as I used to work in multiple stores there and the store/malls closing times. I was then told to call tomorrow morning in which her tone on the phone was very rude and I really only explained my situation and no frustration was shown yet on my side. I called the next morning, Tuesday, March 21st, and explained my situation to the manager Alejandra. I stated that I received an email that my product was picked up but I had not come in yet and I was planning to today. I asked her if it was indeed picked up and she stated yes. I asked her what was the solution and she stated that right now she could only ask the team working yesterday what happened. I asked her what she expected from this but she did not answer. I then asked when I would hear back from her on that. She then said that she does not know because the team working is off today and she had no definite answer. I then asked her what to do because I was planning to pick up the product today and am limited on time as I am going on a trip in a couple days. She said she could not do anything else and that if I come in she cannot give me any merchandise because that will be counted as free merchandise because someone took the purchased merchandise. So really, I am travelling in a couple of days and basically will not receive the purchased items that I paid for. Overall, there really was no solution offered as a manager. Her tone was extremely rude and unhelpful. She was not empathetic to my situation and not understanding of her store's own mistakes. It really felt like it was my fault that someone else picked up my item which really was not the case. This was really strike three. I have chosen to call customer support to request a refund because I really don't even care for or want the product anymore because of this horrific and frustrating experience. I really did not even have the time to write this long message and I still chose to write it because I really am writing it out of frustration from my experience. I really should have purchased on Amazon and I will never be purchasing here again after this experience. Please don't purchase here so you don't have to deal with this horrific experience just buy on Amazon. read more

sucked.. Ya I know this place sells cheap stuff but I bought some costume jewlery because I accidentally left my travel bag with jewelry at home. Before I even got to our destination for dinner, actually right when I got into the car the bracelet I purchase for around $15 broke, not at a good place so it could be fixed, but snap right in the middle of the bracelet which made it completely usless. Not sure I am going to bother to return it for $15 at my local store but won't ever shop here again. Stuff is really crappy stuff made in China. read more

If you're going to get your child's ears pierced make sure they are at least eight years old or you might be dealing with a child that constantly touches them with dirty hands. Now if you don't listen to me and you do it anyways and you end up having to go back a couple years later to redo don't listen to the ear girl. Your child is not more likely to get infected ears again and it won't take longer to heal. Actually the opposite is true, so don't give in to the upsale. Luckily my daughter was insistent on certain, less expensive, earrings and they worked out fine and saved me some bucks. otherwise it's a good place to get your ears pierced, they made my child feel very relaxed and they are very professional. read more

The review is not for the store, but an employee named Karina. I've never seen such a bad attitude and behavior. She was utter disrespectful and rude towards my 12 year old. Not just that, she pushed her while walking past her and DID NOT BOTHER to apologize. Ridiculous. Stay home or work at a place that makes you happy. No customer deserves this type of behavior. I am just extremely annoyed. After buying 2 packs of this set of tiny hoop earrings they sucked they hurt my ears and I don't even have sensitive ears and they were impossible to close and just tried on one and for 45 minutes I tried to close it I got someone to help and still couldn't close it so I put them back in the bag and went to return after going in she told me I couldn't return the pack that was opened bc of some hygiene issues which I undetsnd but it was abt 12 $ for the ratings and I needed some way to get my money back it wasn't fair I asked for an exchange she said no so I gave up whatever I just tried to return the other pick and I was not in a good mood and even after that she told me I couldn't return it unless I had a parent so there I was no being able to return anything it was just un believable and I'm extremely un happy I will never be purchasing from here again read more

I am giving this place such a great review simply because they girls working were so exceptionally kind and patience with my 4 year old who really thought she wanted to get her ears pierced just like her big sister.
