The studio is spacious, clean, and large enough for team building events, or kid's birthday parties. They offer various options such as ceramic painting, hand building and potter's wheel. My plus one and I choose to use our hands and make our own bowl and cup. The staff were friendly and gave us a short tutorial and provided us various tips on placement and design. Not only were they friendly, they were patient as I had to make the same cup 3 times and smooth it out. In the end we left pretty late leaving the venue. Thank you Crackpot for not kicking us out!! Some tips before going, clip your nails, especially if you plan to get down and dirty with any clay. Not feeling the clay? no worries, they have plenty of premade ceramics and paint. You don't even need to be extra creative as we watched others around us make lily pads and clay hands. Keep in mind that once you finish your creation you can't take it home, it takes a couple of weeks for them to dry and give it a glaze finish before you can pick it up. BTW 1) They have a point card where you could get 10% off each time you purchase something and collect the amount you paid (ex. Pay $15 = 15 points). 2) When you are shopping online, you will get free shipping if you buy things that add up to $39 or more.

Obviously a change in staff, but the manager has been around for a long time and a couple staff members had stayed and have been amazing and funny! Seriously, I used to just hang out here as a kid because it's an art store, I'm an artist and the staff is great. It's a very clean store. They always have what I need and things I didn't know I needed. The prices are far superior to Michael's and better than Curry's. Plus the discounts are great and the rewards program is solid too. Oh and did I mention it's animal friendly? I can take my dog for walks in Petsmart and Deserres, Oh and also the customer bathroom is pretty cool. And free bags, who needs to pay a nickel for a bag? All in all, it's a great store. One of my favourite hangout spots, I can test my markers and pencils and all that and talk to awesome staff.

The primary reason why anyone would visit, I'd think, is to check out the cork flooring. That's why I was there! Salesman was very friendly and informative about his product. He even let me sign out a sample piece of 1' X 3' slate of flooring. I haven't priced out their competition, re: hardwood or even laminate, but the piece I got was $5.15sq'. I'm undecided, but I'd highly recommend checking this place out if you're even thinking about installing cork flooring! You'll be surprised by the results which are actually installed all around the house itself.

They had fake decorative pumpkins and hay in the front as buy one get one free deals. I think the hay might have been real as there was some condensation in the bag. They had more BOGO deals inside with seasonal door mats as well. I really liked that they had a variety of Halloween subthemes. There was spookier stuff (not as spooky as like gaunt skeletal remains) and then there was the pastel colours of a cutesy Halloween. Finding things isn't hard at Michael's since the aisles are really well labelled. I was able to find really pretty card stock in foil and textured paper. They also had a lot of cutouts if there's a theme you're going for. Michael's also has a great 3D sticker collection. They have ones for a ton of cities and countries which is great for documenting your vacation! They only had one checkout lane open. Once a line started forming, another employee opened another POS to help us out. I was asked if I have a Michael's account. They can look you up by phone or email. The membership gets you some deals and a birthday offer.
