We were here about a month ago on our trek across the country. I too was very impressed with Clancy's and looked forward to our return. The service is friendly and great, the food is fresh and yummy. I don't know if I will ever find myself in Brandon, MB again in my life, but if I do, I'm stopping into Clancy's. I came here at about mile 3,750 of a two week road trip. We were driving from Banff to Winnipeg that day - about 18 hours of driving. So we pulled next to Clancy's a wee-bit tired and road weary. Seriously - this place is GREAT. At the outset, it looks like any old Irish bar. But we were led into the back room, which was huge. We were there for wing night and we were pleasantly surprised to see they has a diverse selection of sauces. We got the hot and hotter option and both were great. But the show stealer was the Nutty Irishman salad. Oooooh man! I am going to remember that salad for a long time! It was so good! I'm pretty sure that if I wasn't tired from a long day of driving, I would still think it was a great salad. Filled with all sorts of nuts and seeds - it was just a perfect balance of flavors. At one point, Clancy's was THE pub to go to in Brandon, it had a great combination of great atmosphere & ambiance, great food, great drinks, and great customer service. But now? It seems like an entirely different pub. Every staff member I get gives off a vibe as if they don't want to be there and that the customers are an inconvenience to us. I can understand why it would take half an hour just to order & get drinks if it's incredibly buys, but something's not right when the patio & dining rooms are almost completely empty at lunch hour on a Friday. Something just doesn't seem right about that. Quite often the food is either overcooked or it's been sitting around for an hour before it arrives. I most recently ordered a burger and fries. The toppings were actually warmer than the actual burger patty & fries. Cold fries I can deal with but a cold burger? That's just gross. This is supposed to be a pub but for being a "pub", they never seem to have any beers on tap or in bottle. Name it and they won't have it on tap or in bottle. Also, the beer selection is laughable at best. If I wanted a pint of the exact same beer I can get at countless bars, restaurants and pubs in the community, I would, but I want something different. The only reasons I keep coming back are because some of my favourite local acts have shows there frequently and they are one of the only pubs in town that has a patio. The fact they have a patio doesn't make up for expensive & overdone/cold food and rude service. Thankfully there are several other options for a bite to eat & drink within a 5 minute walk. read more

The food was passable but the eatery part could have been cleaner. The drinkery part looked like it could be a good time

Not good at all! Rented out the place after my Aunt's funeral. Chicken wings were raw, no designated driver program, building falling apart with holes in the ceiling and buckets hanging under them, and we were told we would have to drink more booze or they would have to close!! We had all just arrived! Maybe give people time to loosen up after a funeral. Insensitive! The best part of this place was the hockey nets in the urinals. I do not recommend this place. read more
