They also have swing sets and a pavilion. There's restrooms and most of all, it's clean! There's plenty of shade and parking. It's fun for everyone and I appreciate places like these where families can take their children for a fun day -- wet or dry! Such a super cool place, would return and recommend highly!

the local park has amazing features for people of all ages. there are multiple stone picnic tables…read moreat the park, a feature i was especially grateful for yesterday when i'd only brought a bath towel to use for picnic seating. though i'd have been content with the picnic table towel for seating, the table was a welcome accommodation, both for allowing me to stay off the grass, and keeping me from dirtying the towel. for the picnic, i'd brought a couple slices of watermelon my mom bought at the store, to celebrate the spring transitional weather. then, after eating the watermelon slices, i'd used chalk in watermelon colors to promote the yelp review, and express an openness in meeting up with parkgoers or review readers to hang out at the park, a place where i've met multiple kind people, both people i'd met previously and people i met for the first time at the park. and lastly, after writing in chalk on the picnic table, i'd also wrote a sort of fragmented poem in chalk on the basketball court, of which the sight brung to mind the association i've got between the halfcourt basketball area and the double rimmed goal on it. that is one among multiple appeals to me from the park.

The kids absolutely love the playground area. It looks like it's pretty new and it is kept up. They really enjoy coming here. There is a small playground for younger kids and a bigger one for older kids. It has a spongy waking surface made of recycled rubber, so it soften off possible falls. Parking is only along the curb, usually best on 29th street. There are trash cans and a dog litter dispenser.

Two playgrounds have rubberized surfaces for safety. Recent park upgrades include a new skate park and lighted walking path. Of course, restrooms are in the park. There's no playground area or super large/ significant grassy areas to spread out for typical park activities, so it really is mostly for walking around. The main focus, then, is the fountain and pond. Then it's kind of little paths going around it. I really like how there are different levels, so you can be down closer to the pond or higher up. I also think it makes it that much more visually appealing. The paths and levels are made out of large brown stones which I think looks good. There's also some plants around - I think they are called cats tails? Don't quote me on that haha. There are a good amount of benches for sitting spread through the perimeter of the pond. There's also a deck sort of area nearer to the fountain. It looks nice, but could DEFINITELY use a clean up. There was quite a bit of trash, particularly near/ caught in the deck part. It wasn't a completely disgusting amount, but definitely noticeable. To be fair, while I was walking around a didn't see a SINGLE trash can. How can it stay clean when trash cans aren't provided?! This is the main reason for not being 5 stars. If it were cleaned up and then added some trash cans to prevent it getting so trashy again in the future, it'd be great! I saved my favorite thing for last: the view!!! The entire Tulsa skyline isn't visible, but you can see part of it, plus a highway bridge, which is a really cool backdrop in my opinion. Overall it's also cool that there's this semi-tucked away park (though not really the super grassy open kind as mentioned) in a more downtown/ urban area. In fact, it's just a walk across the street to some coffee shops, restaurants, etc.

My kids are learning to skate and pump ride on their bikes. So far we have seen 2 used condoms, a thousand pieces of trash, rocks on the tracks, a stray dog scrapping for food AND a large man bathing in the splash pad. (He did not have a child with him) do better East Tulsa.

It was better shaded before they improved it with the new sports complex, but at least they did plant trees to replace the ones that were torn down. Unfortunately, it will take a while to grow big enough to provide decent shade. That said, it's still a nice walking park. You can get about a mile by walking the trail once. It starts in the parking lot, wraps around a pond and then back to the parking lot. Oreo like it!

got there, immediately liked addition to shared trail of distinction between running and vehicle…read morelanes via green paint at potential collision junctions. next, oh wait, before that, getting ready to cross riverside dr, i heard and saw hooping on the 2nd most southernly of the 5 courts, and hollered something bout hooping on the volleyball court because i've come to associate all 3 of the most southernly courts with a volleyball net setup, even though the 3rd most southernly and northernly is the only court i actually saw with one tonight. okay, so, yeah, the hooping was decently good too, saw a couple tough drives to basket, including a smooth finger rolling lay. i'd not hopped into any of the pickup runs, but glad to be there and see some action. by the way, the drives and lay transpired on the 2nd most northernly court, which tends to be where the most serious hoopers congregate from what i've saw. further, i'd heard a security officer notifying people to the courts closing in about 15 to 20 minutes, before cutting off most of the lights, leaving enough for each courtgoer to safely disperse.

I bring my binoculars and always spot a great variety of birds. The trees are absolutely stunning... there are over 100 species of trees. Honestly... it's a little escape from a hectic world. It's the perfect place to bring a book, find your spot, and just relax for a while. Whether you're looking to unwind, enjoy nature, or have a quiet moment to yourself...this park is a hidden gem that never disappoints. Perfect for getting in your steps too! I like to go early morning before it gets too hot or busy. Starting in May they have free canoe rentals!! They also have very good food. Love their fresh fruit cups which they prepare every morning daily, their sandwiches are fresh and very good! I've also had their ice cream and it's delicious. When you first walk into the main building, you can check out chess pieces and other games. Some of the tables have the chessboard design printed on them. Perfect for getting your chess game on. Every Wednesday and Sunday, you can bring your dog. Over at the boathouse on the bottom floor they have a little museum called "Drawers of curiosity." Hard to believe The Gathering Place doesn't charge an entrance fee!! It's just simply amazing!
