Stayed in one of the newly renovated modern rooms on the 3rd floor and was very impressed. Nicely renovated. Would definitely book again.

BATHROOM. THIS IS JUST ONE CORNER !

"DISGUSTING ROACH HOTEL. MANAGER WAS HORRIBLY RUDE ! Disgusting. Roaches in a FILTHY Room. *Manager Crystal was the Rudest Person Ive ever encountered in Customer Service. She told me she was kicking us out of our Room which we had nowhere to go at that point for to 2 Holiday week because I Complained. When we got to room hair was all over the place including the bedding that wasn't even changed from previous occupant.Hair in the Sink & Fridge.Table & chairs in Room was so greasy black it ruined my shirt when I sat down .IAll the racks & Lamps are COVERED in rust. They didn't make the bed for 3rd person before checkin.Husband went to add blanket for her & there was piece of Metal sticking out & he cut his leg. The Manager (Crystal) told me I was no longer a Guest & to leav front desk (though wouldn't let us check out that day) it wasn't check in time. We couldn't not accept the Room as we had nowhere to go die to Holiday. I asked for another CLARION/CHOICE Hotel & she said to get away from HER desk & not ask for a thing remainder of stay.I have photos/video of all of it. The bed sash at bottom looks like it had Semen on it. Bathroom was FILTHY & Toilet not attatched to floor. The area they serve food had ROACHES & dropings on walls. Entire building reeks of Filth,Trash that's been sitting days & Mold. Told for 9 days if we want cleanTowels to walk them 3 floors to Maids and exchange the 3 Towels we got.1/2 roll of TP for a 9 days stay ? Door handles, frames filthy !

has roaches in all the rooms. ac barely works, dirty and disgusting not worth the money

Collection of roaches, grew each day.

Roaches, spiders, ants, random hair and bobby pins, dated/broken furniture and appliances, the list goes on. Coworker got bit by something the first night in his room and immediately requested to change rooms. Restaurant service slow as molasses. Waited over a half an hour for a basket of chicken tenders. WiFi doesn't work. Wouldn't suggest this hotel to anyone. If you MUST stay here, request a room on the second floor and don't touch the floor with your bare feet.

Place is decent for a budget stay with vinyl flooring (you can request it even if you dont have a pet) and nice decor. It is a place where you have to enter from the outside like most budget places. Free breakfast is a plus and located near major stores and fast food places and major highways. Room was clean- cleaner than most places. Fridge and AC were superb, nice and cool! Perfect for AC temps!

BEYOND DATED! BEYOND GROSS! All I can say is...thank goodness it was only for one night. We were traveling from Sanibel to Clearwater. We needed a place for a quick rest. All I can say is we were better off leaving. It was a Monday night into Tuesday. We arrived at exactly 9PM. The gentleman at the front desk was polite. We reserved one of there "suites" We walked into a dark, dismal and dirty room. The sitting room area was scary looking and dim. There was a squished bug in the wall and the curtains were stained. The bedroom area was just a dismal. Linens were very old and had major pilling. We had four people in our "suite" with two towels. ( I disclosed this when making my reservation ) The front desk only had very small pool towels to replace regular towels and was clothes. This hotel has a pool, jacuzzi and splash area. Since we arrived late the pool was riddled with young kids (teenagers) partying into the night. I don't know if this is the norm. Our shower had major mold. The free breakfast was descent. It's has potential to be something nice but needs a major overhaul. We also had issues getting into our room. The key card mechanism didn't work. That had to be serviced. All I can say is never again.

In the Florida area visiting and needed somewhere to stay. This place offered a great suite for the price. I just wish they opened breakfast back up in dining, but due to Covid I understand. Nice room, plenty of space with balcony and great view. Would recommend anyone traveling to give this hotel a try.

    Sleep Number Bed doesn't work

I did a lot of searching when booking my 3-night stay in Clearwater. Ideally, I would have liked to have stayed on the beach in Clearwater Beach, however that wasn't in my price range. I wanted a relatively short drive to that area, and it was about a 20 minute drive, which wasn't bad... you PAY to stay close to the beach, if you don't want to pay that amount, expect a drive, so I don't know why people complain this is no where near the beach and nothing is around here...if you do your research in advance, you will learn all of this. Moving on... I got a decent book in advance deal, however the amenities I booked this place based from weren't even up to par! For starters, the sleep number bed for my king size bed wasn't working...half of the bed was softer than the other half. The POOL was being worked on, and there was NO word of that on their website when I booked a few weeks in advance, but when I got my confirmation email a few days before my trip along with the message of "no cancellations, refunds, etc" was when I was informed of this. Nothing like traveling to Florida in April in mid 80-degree weather to maybe want some pool time, leaving me to drive to the beach, pay for parking, etc. I was NOT happy not being informed of this in advance. I didn't book my trip 6 months in advance either. One night during my stay, I got back from the beach and wanted to shower before heading back out for dinner, etc. only to find the water completely OFF. I called the front desk and they said it would be on within the half hour. Another mishap...not really happy about the timing of that. I'm also not sure why people look at this place as a hotel, it's not ... it's your typical motel made of 2-3 stories. The grounds are nice, the rooms are ok, the staff are nice, as well as the lobby. Again, you get what you pay for...overall it was a decent deal given the pool was there, and the sleep number bed worked. As for safety, I wasn't thrilled with being a female staying alone in a room all the way at the end in room 155, though I checked in late at night...and during my stay, I felt safe for the most part. And lastly, the staff in the bar/restaurant were super nice...I placed a few take out orders from there, the food was pretty good. I'm not sure why people are complaining about the breakfast - there were eggs, pancakes, cereal, bacon, sausage, muffins, etc. A LOT more than your typical continential breakfast, so one star for the breakfast alone. If I were to return to the Clearwater area, I saw other options nearby...I probably wouldn't stay here again, though I did mention some positives that may help others decide in the future.

The hotel itself is beautiful and centrally located on Clearwater Beach with just a short walk across the street to the beach. We booked two suites , a 2 queen private rooftop terrace suite with a full kitchen and a poolside king suite with a kitchenette which were spacious and perfect for our large gathering. The rooftop terrace was definitely a highlight, and the hotel is within walking distance to restaurants, the pier, playgrounds, and shops. I also liked that the pool is on the 8th floor with a great view and access limited to hotel guests only. Pool chairs were very comfortable, towels were unlimited with no towel card system, and beach cabana/umbrella rentals were half off for guests. The hot tub being on the 16th floor separate from the pool didn't make much sense though. Room service was daily, and I appreciated being able to text the front desk instead of calling. I highly recommend using the text feature and keeping everything in writing because there were discrepancies regarding credits we were promised. There were unfortunately several maintenance and service issues during our stay. The living room TV constantly glitched and wouldn't sync properly even after maintenance attempted to fix it. More importantly, the AC completely stopped working in the rooftop terrace suite for hours while we hosted about 25 guests for the graduation party. Everyone was hot and sweaty in almost 100-degree indoor conditions. Thankfully the terrace breeze helped, but being offered only a $100 credit for such a major issue during a once-in-a-lifetime celebration felt insufficient! The parking garage situation was also frustrating. We were told our vehicles could enter and exit freely with the resort fee, but every time we tried leaving, the room keys and garage passes failed. We repeatedly went back to front desk to get new passes and had to pay $40 to exit then contact customer service afterward for refunds such a waste of vacation time Customer service overall was very hit or miss. Some employees were wonderful while others seemed miserable and unfriendly. The onsite coffee shop was particularly disappointing I'd recommend walking across the street from The front lobby to the real Starbucks instead. At times it felt like the hotel relies heavily on its excellent location and beach proximity rather than consistent service standards.Coming from previous stays at Sandpearl Resort, I personally would still choose Sandpearl for smaller family vacations. However, I will say this hotel offers more flexibility for large gatherings and easier garage access compared to Sandpearl's valet-only setup. That said, between the AC outage, power issues in BOTH suites floor 8 and 17, lukewarm water, TV problems, phone problems, garage charges, and inconsistent customer service, I would probably try another Clearwater Beach hotel next time. We still made wonderful graduation memories and the location, spacious suites, rooftop terrace, and beach convenience were definitely the highlights of our stay.

And not one spider or bug on that balcony the whole week we were there! Five stars just for that! All staff were very friendly, in fact I believe it was a manager that bought me and my husband drinks after we walked down 15 flights of stairs during a fire alarm. (I swear nobody else even heeded the alarm, we were the only one in the stairwell). We only ate breakfast in the main restaurant (which was good), but we did have room service a couple of times and enjoyed the rooftop bar, The Tropico, for food and drinks. (The kids menu burgers and fries was plenty for me!) All were good experiences. Hotel is in walking distance of so many restaurants, shops and of course, the pier. We only hung out on the beach one day with the loungers and cabana. I was a little disappointed that they weren't included in the stay. The cost was $30 per day. Otherwise I was content to hang out on the loungers at the pool. A store called Surf Style is just a couple of doors down that has besides clothing, your snacks, drinks and all the tourist goodies.

PROS; -Walkable to just about everything! We didn't rent a car for our trip so it was perfect to be able to access nearby restaurants, shops, and more all on foot. -The pool deck is very large, well kept, and very well staffed. Tons of lounge chairs and umbrellas. Everyone working there was so dang nice! You can receive pool-side service for food & drink, or head up to the attached bar to grab what you need. Definitely a little on the pricey side, but a lot of good options. -We booked a one-bedroom suite and it was delightful! Sooo spacious, likely more than we needed. It was super clean and modern. Very nice, updated bathrooms and walk-in glass showers. Our patio was also huge, providing beautiful views of the Mandalay Channel. Beds were comfy, and they even so kindly provided us with a cot/crib for our youngest. Hugee for parents - that was super appreciated! -Literally every single person working there that we interacted with was beyond sweet! Five-star service and friendliness from all staff. CONS: -Little to no cleaning service in the room (unless requested??). Maybe I missed how this works, but it was a little of a bummer having overflowing trash cans and dirty dishes we weren't sure what to otherwise do with. They were very quick to bring fresh towels upon request, however! -Given the size of our suite, we would have loved to have a few extra usable items in the kitchen area, like any kind of napkins/paper towels, silverware, and soap do to a little washing up. Surely don't expect it to be fully stocked with appliances and plateware, but it seemed a little odd how big it was with truly nothing to use it for. All in all, we would absolutely stay here again, and would most certainly recommend it to others (especially families). Thanks for a great stay!

Instead, we encountered poor communication, disorganization, and management that seemed incapable of delivering the experience their luxury rates promise. Once we finally got in, our luggage wasn't delivered as promised, the room phone didn't work, and maintenance had to make multiple trips to replace it before we could even begin to settle in. By the end of the evening, we still hadn't had a chance to unpack, shower, or relax after a full day of travel. The valet experience was equally disappointing--disorganized, unprofessional, and lacking even the most basic customer service. The mattress was also among the most uncomfortable I've ever slept on. There was just too many things that left us disappointed on our first trip here. There are 2 EV charging spots which was a lifesaver this trip and being a trolley stop was absolutely amazing for getting over the bridge into Clearwater Beach stress free. We saw pictures of a tennis and pickleball court online but those have been demolished and replaced by a grassy area :(. Thankfully sand bay tennis park is less than a mile away and the trolley does stop there. 3 volleyball courts which were great and sunsets 10/10! The Easter Egg hunt was a fun and unexpected treat for the kids :) well organized. I checked in early on the app, knowing it was a holiday weekend and there may not be rooms available early. We were able to pick up wristbands right away but we later found out these were not watched or enforced anywhere. In fact, you do not even need a key to enter the building from the pool/beach. I believe this added to the insane crowding at the pool. Could not find a pool chair at ALL - very stressful and had to set our belongings on the ground in order to swim. They could not keep up with the towels either and by 3-4PM, you could not get one at all. The pool bar had short hours and the line was insanely long every day. The pool bar shared the same line as ordering the food truck food which added to that chaos as well. On Friday the food truck shut down early as well. There was one water dispenser in the lobby but it was always empty. I felt like a bother asking the mainstay tavern for water. The food there was very good and we ordered to go. The gym was amazing 10/10. The beds were AWFUL 0/10 they are on a platform with absolute no give at all - ROCK hard!!! Had to walk across the street to the other Marriott location to get espresso coffee. The extra charges are too much - says $30/night to park but after taxes and fees it is $35 a night and $25 a night for the resort fee which doesn't cover anything but bikes as the trolley is already free. It is $45 to rent 2 chairs and an umbrella at the beach. The resort fee should offset this cost!!!!! The location is amazing but these extra charges are just too much and our stay left a lot to be desired. I also had a fraud charge immediately following paying for parking even though I used the QR code at the front desk and have not used that credit card for any other purchases - I wish this was charged directly through the hotel instead. It is not gated.
