We have been in a lot better Fairfield hotels

Not to sure how to report on this Mareott hotel. Unpon arrival we didn't see anyone other then Valet. To check in. You valet your car look for a sign that said check in on 2nd floor. We checked in Then went to our sweet. Theses pictures tells it all. We have stayed in better Fairfield hotels. Only thing that I can say it's, the room is larger, but not better. They do give a full breakfast, we will see tomorrow.

I don't understand the bad reviews but here is my review (and it takes a lot for me to give a place more than 3 stars): the room was clean! I wish it was bigger but that's my fault for not booking a room at the residence inn. The pool is nice and warm. Speaking of warm, the shower was awesome due to how hot it got! My balcony room overlooking the pool was nice to have as well. There is plenty to choose from at breakfast, but if you don't like crowds then I suggest getting down there before 8am. Beach is easily accessible through the surf shop store Cons: valet only, $31 a day parking. The Wyndham actually charges $40 a day......there are 4 elevators and they are all slow. This hotel is clean and also doesn't smell like a men's high school locker room (unlike the Hyatt across the street)

Nice newer hotel within walking distance of the beach. This location has the Springhill Suites and Residence Inn combined. Parking is valet only for $29. They have a great pool right by the lobby and offer free breakfast like all RI and FFs do.

Overall nice hotel in Clearwater Beach. Yes valet parking is $25 a day and yes breakfast is a zoo (residence inn and springhill suites share same lobby, pool, breakfast area), and yes housekeeping doesn't make the bed or provide new towels or shampoo on a daily basis. For families with kids, both hotels offer a pack and play, even though Residence Inn website states no cribs. Breakfast I agree you have to get there at least 30 min before it ends 9am weekdays and 10am weekends. You get eggs, some meat that rotates (turkey sausage, bacon, kielbasa), waffles, toast, cereals, etc). They have at least 4-5 high chairs. We were lucky enough to find seats and table each morning. Staff was working so hard to replenish the food. The pool is heated and although small, was just right for us. Didn't try the gym. They have pool towels too. You can drink adult beverages there too. They have a small bar that closes at 10. 5-7 half price appetizers daily too. Didn't get a drink at their bar. The beach was just fantastic. Everyone says to walk across the street to Surf Style (what a huge store) to get to beach. They were spot on. I was quite surprised that the housekeeping don't change out towels or make the beds or even throw the trash away. On day 3 they finally made the end and gave us new towels. Sheesh! They need to add a drying line in the tub to hang bathing suits. Why do new hotels have frosted doors to bathrooms now? It's just horrible someone using bathroom and wakes people up at night.

    Gorgeous, comfortable lobby area

Very nice hotel with nice accomodations and a fair price. Pros: Beautifully designed rooms, Gorgeous pool, and friendly staff. Cons: Staff doesn't seem to know much about Marriott Elite Gold (they didn't know that Gold members are eligible for free upgrades and didnt know about late checkout), the breakfast hours are pretty restrictive (6a-9a weekdays), and there is no hot tub. Overall, good experience and would return. The rooms feel new and clean and the breakfast spread was pretty nice (waffles, eggs, chorizo, turkey sausage, fruit, cereal, brie, bagels, and lots of waffle toppings). 4 stars.

This is a wonderful inner beach hotel with fabulous views that you can enjoy from balcony rooms. The hotel room suites are very spacious and all have a desk along with a separate section that has a couch to relax. The architectural design of this hotel is innovating contemporary and the lobby is very roomy with sofas and tables to enjoy the complimentary broadest afternoon cocktails or just somewhere to meet friends or business associates. Without a doubt, one of the best innovating Spring Suites Residence Inn combo hotel I have ever lodged. The beachside intra-costal location also was fabulous. Too bad it was too cold to enjoy the courtside infinity pool.

Stayed a night during our 4th of July staycation. The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is within walking distance to local restaurants and the beach which was super convenient. Very clean hotel.

The hotel itself is beautiful and centrally located on Clearwater Beach with just a short walk across the street to the beach. We booked two suites , a 2 queen private rooftop terrace suite with a full kitchen and a poolside king suite with a kitchenette which were spacious and perfect for our large gathering. The rooftop terrace was definitely a highlight, and the hotel is within walking distance to restaurants, the pier, playgrounds, and shops. I also liked that the pool is on the 8th floor with a great view and access limited to hotel guests only. Pool chairs were very comfortable, towels were unlimited with no towel card system, and beach cabana/umbrella rentals were half off for guests. The hot tub being on the 16th floor separate from the pool didn't make much sense though. Room service was daily, and I appreciated being able to text the front desk instead of calling. I highly recommend using the text feature and keeping everything in writing because there were discrepancies regarding credits we were promised. There were unfortunately several maintenance and service issues during our stay. The living room TV constantly glitched and wouldn't sync properly even after maintenance attempted to fix it. More importantly, the AC completely stopped working in the rooftop terrace suite for hours while we hosted about 25 guests for the graduation party. Everyone was hot and sweaty in almost 100-degree indoor conditions. Thankfully the terrace breeze helped, but being offered only a $100 credit for such a major issue during a once-in-a-lifetime celebration felt insufficient! The parking garage situation was also frustrating. We were told our vehicles could enter and exit freely with the resort fee, but every time we tried leaving, the room keys and garage passes failed. We repeatedly went back to front desk to get new passes and had to pay $40 to exit then contact customer service afterward for refunds such a waste of vacation time Customer service overall was very hit or miss. Some employees were wonderful while others seemed miserable and unfriendly. The onsite coffee shop was particularly disappointing I'd recommend walking across the street from The front lobby to the real Starbucks instead. At times it felt like the hotel relies heavily on its excellent location and beach proximity rather than consistent service standards.Coming from previous stays at Sandpearl Resort, I personally would still choose Sandpearl for smaller family vacations. However, I will say this hotel offers more flexibility for large gatherings and easier garage access compared to Sandpearl's valet-only setup. That said, between the AC outage, power issues in BOTH suites floor 8 and 17, lukewarm water, TV problems, phone problems, garage charges, and inconsistent customer service, I would probably try another Clearwater Beach hotel next time. We still made wonderful graduation memories and the location, spacious suites, rooftop terrace, and beach convenience were definitely the highlights of our stay.

And not one spider or bug on that balcony the whole week we were there! Five stars just for that! All staff were very friendly, in fact I believe it was a manager that bought me and my husband drinks after we walked down 15 flights of stairs during a fire alarm. (I swear nobody else even heeded the alarm, we were the only one in the stairwell). We only ate breakfast in the main restaurant (which was good), but we did have room service a couple of times and enjoyed the rooftop bar, The Tropico, for food and drinks. (The kids menu burgers and fries was plenty for me!) All were good experiences. Hotel is in walking distance of so many restaurants, shops and of course, the pier. We only hung out on the beach one day with the loungers and cabana. I was a little disappointed that they weren't included in the stay. The cost was $30 per day. Otherwise I was content to hang out on the loungers at the pool. A store called Surf Style is just a couple of doors down that has besides clothing, your snacks, drinks and all the tourist goodies.

This hotel is located in the middle of all the action, you can go up and down the strip for drinks, eating or hitting the beaches. We had a nice view of a marina in the back of the hotel from our balcony. Came with a small kitchen with all the amenities. Very nicely laid out for a smaller room with a king, Every morning is a complimentary breakfast, which can be crazy with people. Food was decent and was better than most with many options and large quantities of eggs, potatoes, a meat (usually sausage, but bacon sometimes), pastries, waffles, bagels. fruits yogurts. Lots to choose from. Some people go crazy and take extra for the road. Front desk was helpful and pointed out locations or checked on things we needed. We did not hit the pool, but looked nice. Bar area is near lobby and pool with drink and bucket options. Small kitchen and room were perfect with a large walkin shower. Couch appeared to be a pull out bed, which we didn't use, but like many fold out type this sagged in the middle from use. Channels on TV were limited but good. Can sign into Netflix or YouTube but cannot screenshare. Parking is valet and very efficient with text communication. I celebrated my birthday at the JW Marriott Clearwater and it was easily one of the best hotel experiences I've ever had. From the moment I arrived, the hospitality was top-notch. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful, with stunning design and a relaxing atmosphere that made the whole stay feel like a true getaway. There are so many amenities to enjoy, which really elevates the experience and makes it feel like a true luxury stay. The only downside for me was that there isn't a sauna, which is something I usually expect at a hotel of this level. It's a small miss, but worth noting. Overall, I couldn't have picked a better place to celebrate. I'll definitely be back!

Instead, we encountered poor communication, disorganization, and management that seemed incapable of delivering the experience their luxury rates promise. Our room wasn't ready until 8:30 p.m., leaving us waiting more than five hours. Once we finally got in, our luggage wasn't delivered as promised, the room phone didn't work, and maintenance had to make multiple trips to replace it before we could even begin to settle in. By the end of the evening, we still hadn't had a chance to unpack, shower, or relax after a full day of travel. The valet experience was equally disappointing--disorganized, unprofessional, and lacking even the most basic customer service. The mattress was also among the most uncomfortable I've ever slept on. The only employees who reflected the Marriott brand were the bartenders and the maintenance technician. Everyone else, including management, seemed indifferent to the issues we experienced. Luxury hotels command premium prices because guests expect premium service. This property delivered neither. I left frustrated, exhausted, and wondering how this hotel is allowed to carry the JW Marriott name. There are far better options in Clearwater.

Still a solid experience…read more We came here for one evening to celebrate the end of school. We came at about 3:15 PM on a Friday and our room was ready early which was great. We were on floor 16 which is the top floor. At first, I was worried I would be afraid going on the balcony because of how high it is, but it doesn't feel terribly high. I actually recommend asking for a higher floor because that's where the best views of the beach are. We only went to the Opal sol pool this time instead of Opal Sands. They have two pools, which is great because one felt like an adult pool whereas the other one felt like a children pool even though there was no designation. It made me feel better about my two children splashing about. There is also a pool by the Spa that I think adults should escape to if they want to get away from children. The one downside of the pool is they don't have many servers walking around taking orders. I ended up walking up to the bar to put in a food and drink order because the only server was on the far side of the pool the entire time. I tried berries and bubbles and a strawberry Mo-to-to, both were fantastic. We learned we do not like the chips and salsa. My older son did and liked the queso, but nobody else in the family did. We also love the hot tub and you can turn on jets if you want. Even though it doesn't feel like they have a ton of seating, we never had a hard time finding a seat, so people do a good job cleaning up after themselves if they leave their seats. They also have tons of towels, I never thought I would appreciate this so much until we were at another hotel that limited guests to four at a time, so I appreciate that you can take towels to the beach and then come back and grab new towels. The rooms are beautiful. They feel spacious and everything is still pretty new since it was built at the beginning of 2025. All rooms look at the beach, so it is nice sitting on the balcony and looking out at the water. One random criticism is that they don't have any non-caffeinated tea, all their tea has caffeine in it that they offer in the room. Room service is very quick. We got chicken tenders and fries and grilled chicken and fries. I tried the Ahi tuna starter and loved it. My younger son loved his grilled chicken and older son ate the fries. Even though the hotel isn't right on the beach, it is literally across the street from the beach so super convenient to get to. Clearwater beach is beautiful. It has powdery white sand, and there are ample amounts of chairs that you can purchase to sit on. They only have valet so the one downside is it takes a while to get your car, but if most of your vacation is on the beach, you won't need your car anyway. I also appreciate that they have snacks that they put out at 8 AM. They also apparently have cookies at 3 PM, but we totally missed seeing that. I forgot to bring the kids snacks so this was a lifesaver when the kids grabbed granola bars for breakfast. They also have Board games on every floor, which I think is a nice touch. I always enjoy our stay here. I would recommend.

However, on our very first day, while sitting with my family eating lunch at the pool area, we were overwhelmed by a strong marijuana smell coming from the table next to us. For a hotel that promotes itself as smoke-free, this was extremely disappointing. The bigger issue happened on our third day. There was a fire alarm going off in the hotel, but we were staying on the sixth floor and did not hear any alarm on our floor. The only reason we knew something was happening was because we received a phone call from someone we're staying with telling everyone to evacuate. If my family and I had been sleeping, we would have had no idea there was an emergency. That is a serious safety concern. When I spoke with management, I was told the alarm only sounds on certain floors due to firewalls between levels. Regardless of the explanation, fire safety should protect every guest equally. Fire travels upward, instead of an audible alarm on every floor is unacceptable. To make matters worse, management was dismissive and unhelpful. When guests were allowed back inside, we were told the fire department would contact management, but there was no clear explanation and no accountability taken. Overall, this stay was stressful and disappointing. Between the lack of enforcement of the smoke-free policy and the serious safety concerns regarding the fire alarm system, I would not feel comfortable staying here again.

Tons of lounge chairs and umbrellas. Everyone working there was so dang nice! You can receive pool-side service for food & drink, or head up to the attached bar to grab what you need. Definitely a little on the pricey side, but a lot of good options. -We booked a one-bedroom suite and it was delightful! Sooo spacious, likely more than we needed. It was super clean and modern. Very nice, updated bathrooms and walk-in glass showers. Our patio was also huge, providing beautiful views of the Mandalay Channel. Beds were comfy, and they even so kindly provided us with a cot/crib for our youngest. Hugee for parents - that was super appreciated! -Literally every single person working there that we interacted with was beyond sweet! Five-star service and friendliness from all staff. CONS: -Little to no cleaning service in the room (unless requested??). Maybe I missed how this works, but it was a little of a bummer having overflowing trash cans and dirty dishes we weren't sure what to otherwise do with. They were very quick to bring fresh towels upon request, however! -Given the size of our suite, we would have loved to have a few extra usable items in the kitchen area, like any kind of napkins/paper towels, silverware, and soap do to a little washing up. Surely don't expect it to be fully stocked with appliances and plateware, but it seemed a little odd how big it was with truly nothing to use it for. All in all, we would absolutely stay here again, and would most certainly recommend it to others (especially families). Thanks for a great stay!

I did not feel safe staying here. The sliding door didn't lock. The AC was loud and kept us up. Will NOT be back. To the business owner: continually commenting that these frustrations will be brought up to management is not a proactive stance on getting your systems in place. Especially that you reply to everyones negative review exactly the same. I hope you reassess your responsibilities as a manager.
