The hotel's location was perfect--close to key attractions, restaurants, beach, and store. The surf style store was in front of our hotel which was very convenient. The staff and front desk were all friendly! The breakfast area was large. They offered typical breakfast buffet! Eggs, bacon, waffles, bread station, coffee , cereals. What I noticed was they have 2 stations for each item. Our room was facing the water and had a balcony. Great view. The room was typical hotel room with fridge and microwave. The bed was comfortable and they had a sofa bed in each room. The only problem , is the entrance. You enter in to the parking and have to go upstairs to the lobby to check in which can be confusing at first and also Elevators don't have AC! Overall, I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for comfort, convenience, and quality service. I look forward to staying here again in the future! read more

Conveniently located along the waterfront view of the bay. Immediately upon exiting the hotel you are just steps away local eateries, shops and beaches. The room was super spacious with free Wi-Fi, a flat-panel TV, and workstation. the free breakfast was also much more than expected. The lobby bar was a hit as I really enjoyed the wings and fries we opted to order as the strong rainstorms prevented us from venturing out the first night. pool area was inviting and provided a prefect view as I soaked up the sun while reading. I loved that we were in walking distance to make of the places we planned to dine at. jolley Tolley, pier 60 and other amenities all within a 3-5 min walk. Definitely much more convenient that the normal resort we stay while visiting. read more

BEWARE!!! I booked a King Suite 2 weeks in advance and prepaid through Booking.com. When I arrived, the hotel only offered valet parking. Be aware: the $41 valet fee is buried in fine print and not displayed clearly anywhere, not worth it. When I got to my room, it was NOT the room I paid for. They moved me without notifying me to a smaller Queen Suite with two small beds. When I confronted the front desk, they admitted the room I paid for was "not available," meaning they gave it to someone else. Let me guess... someone who booked directly with them for more money. Absolutely unacceptable! I ask the boy, kevin at the front desk why no one contacted me, because I could have booked somewhere else. The front desk claimed they "didn't have my information." That is a lie! Booking.com confirmed they absolutely send the guest info. Then they wanted to get the manager for me after the fact that they didn't help and I was leaving. The room is not what I paid for, small beds and uncomfortable, the balcony "view" was terrible an abandoned, rundown hotel next door. The room also had dirty towels, which is another red flag for their cleanliness standards. They refused to correct the situation and only offered free parking. That is NOT an acceptable solution when you downgrade a prepaid room without permission! This is misleading, dishonest, and feels like fraudulent business practice. Not to sure how to report on this Mareott hotel. Unpon arrival we didn't see anyone other then Valet. To check in. You valet your car look for a sign that said check in on 2nd floor. We checked in Then went to our sweet. Theses pictures tells it all. We have stayed in better Fairfield hotels. Only thing that I can say it's, the room is larger, but not better. I don't understand the bad reviews but here is my review (and it takes a lot for me to give a place more than 3 stars): the room was clean! I wish it was bigger but that's my fault for not booking a room at the residence inn. The pool is nice and warm. Speaking of warm, the shower was awesome due to how hot it got! My balcony room overlooking the pool was nice to have as well. There is plenty to choose from at breakfast, but if you don't like crowds then I suggest getting down there before 8am. Beach is easily accessible through the surf shop store Cons: valet only, $31 a day parking. The Wyndham actually charges $40 a day......there are 4 elevators and they are all slow. From Mobile check in to Mobile key access is always a plus. I frequently visit this very beautiful hotel when traveling for work, it has in fact become my favorite place to stay. The comfort and cleanliness of the rooms and the amazing customer service make you want to return. The food and drinks at the bar are really good. She then asked me if she checked the cameras, would she see us driving 2 cars. The line of questioning was very rude. I called on 7/7 and got Lis again, she said it was refunded I called on 7/13 and Lis said all valet was credited. An okay value for this unusual combination of Marriott brands in a near perfect location. Parking entrance in front was busy and needed repeat trip once room was assigned. The $31 a day for inconvenient valet parking deducts one star. Walking like the locals is a must. Early check in was not possible. The combined property is somewhat a busy public playground, especially with pets allowed in both brands. The elevator requires a room key above lobby floors. Staff really doesn't seem to care and you had better be proactive in searching and asking for things. When I go on vacation that is something I don't want to do. I'm a Marriott Titanium member and there are zero benefits at this location. Standard room with limited view of the inner coastal. They weren't at full capacity since it was during COVID. I booked for 7 nights and they said my room would be cleaned after night 5 since it's during COVID. That is fine, but you had better grant me the measly 250 points per night for being "Green." What happened to we are "all in this together." I paid for 7 nights, cleaned my own room/kitchen, reused my towels, and didn't burden housekeeping. At a minimum you should grant the points. What a sham. At the end of your stay double check your bill. They charged me for 7 nights of valet parking even though I took an Uber my entire trip. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra money to stay at The Opal Sands, Hyatt, or Regency. Same great location, but on the beach. This area desperately needs a full service Marriott. read more

I'm Ambassador Elite with Marriott and the room is not ready by 4pm (I requested 11am check in and normal hours are at 4pm). There are a ton of people waiting for rooms today. Idk why they are so understaffed and unprepared. This is the last weekend before Memorial Day! Wow guys. Went to the desk twice and am still waiting for a room. Pool seems not clean, maybe bc there are a ton of young kids. The nice things about this place are the location right by the Gulf, there's a parking garage attached to the hotels, and it has a Starbucks. Overall nice hotel in Clearwater Beach. Yes valet parking is $25 a day and yes breakfast is a zoo (residence inn and springhill suites share same lobby, pool, breakfast area), and yes housekeeping doesn't make the bed or provide new towels or shampoo on a daily basis. For families with kids, both hotels offer a pack and play, even though Residence Inn website states no cribs. Breakfast I agree you have to get there at least 30 min before it ends 9am weekdays and 10am weekends. You get eggs, some meat that rotates (turkey sausage, bacon, kielbasa), waffles, toast, cereals, etc). They have at least 4-5 high chairs. We were lucky enough to find seats and table each morning. Staff was working so hard to replenish the food. The pool is heated and although small, was just right for us. Didn't try the gym. They have pool towels too. You can drink adult beverages there too. They have a small bar that closes at 10. 5-7 half price appetizers daily too. Didn't get a drink at their bar. The beach was just fantastic. Everyone says to walk across the street to Surf Style (what a huge store) to get to beach. They were spot on. I was quite surprised that the housekeeping don't change out towels or make the beds or even throw the trash away. On day 3 they finally made the end and gave us new towels. Sheesh! They need to add a drying line in the tub to hang bathing suits. Why do new hotels have frosted doors to bathrooms now? Cons: Staff doesn't seem to know much about Marriott Elite Gold (they didn't know that Gold members are eligible for free upgrades and didnt know about late checkout), the breakfast hours are pretty restrictive (6a-9a weekdays), and there is no hot tub. Overall, good experience and would return. My Husband and I booked for our Florida trip a couple of months ago, and were somewhat worried that we wouldn't be able to make it down due to the Hurricane Irma. The Husband tried calling the hotel several times throughout the days prior to our arrival to make sure that the hotel was still up and running; however, he was never able to reach them (apparently all phones are down...). We took the risk and decided to go anyways as our hotel in Daytona was opened and that majority of places were running fine (according to the media and live cams that my husband checked diligently over the course of days). When we arrived, we could tell the hotel was brand new just by the looks of it from the outside. We had no choice but to pay a steep fee of $25 a day to park through the hotel's hired-valet company to park our rental car--but their service was fantastic! Springhill Suites and Residence Inn is in the same building--they share all the common areas such as: the lobby, front desk, gym, pool, conference rooms, dining area, business center, and the bar. Once you go up to your assigned floor, one side will be the Springhill side whereas the other side will be Residence Inn side. You'll be able to tell by the difference by the appearance of the room doors. Because the hotel is basically brand new (only about three weeks old as of Sept. 25), all and everything was brand new and very clean! The bed, furnitures, etc was in excellent condition (duh!) and were from West Elm, one of my favorite furniture stores. Everything inside the room and the hotel itself had a modern-feel to it. Despite the exceptional condition of the hotel, I do have to knock down a star because of the housekeeping incident we've encountered on our second day. The housekeeping decided to only make our beds but failed to clean, vacuum the bathroom. In addition, because the room phones were not working my husband had to physically go down to the front desk to ask for towels and toiletries. When we addressed the matter to the front desk and to the manager, the assured that it won't happen again and managed to check our room during the late-afternoon hours after the housekeeping has done its job. We knew there was a second round of check as our room door was not fully shut when we returned back to the room, sigh. We appreciated their effort and were satisfied with the housekeeping after the incident. All in all, despite the hotel figuring out the kinks of things as they are newly open we were satisfied with our stay. I would totally recommend the place! Side Notes: -There is a complimentary breakfast available every morning from 6:30-9am Monday through Friday, and from 7-10am Saturday & Sunday. The breakfast was a bit of a downfall compared to the other Residence Inns that we've stayed, and hope for an improvement in the future. -Great gym--one of the better ones I've been to during our stay at the Residence Inn. Very clean and can access the bathroom and the pool. -You can call the valet people from your room, and they will have your car out in minutes! -Free wifi although it keeps kicking you out and have to reconnect. You can also stream Netflix, Pandora, etc. on TV! -Great view from the pool as it faces the bay. No oceanfront but it is very close to the beach! -Huge bar (food available--from 4-10pm) compared to other Residence Inns I've been to. Delicious piña colada but cost us close to $10 with tip, sigh. -Great shower head! -There's a grocery/convenience store across the street, so no need to make purchases inside the hotel where the prices are ridiculously expensive. -There's a pizza place right by the hotel that I totally recommend (see review)! Awesome location. Right on Coronado across the street from SurfStyle. You can actually walk through SurfStyle and get access to the beach. The rooms were much smaller than I anticipated. We asked if it was possible to get a room with a view and the lady at the front desk obliged and told us it would be a $10 up charge. Meh. The balcony had a nice view of the harbor though. What I did not like was the fact that if I didn't call for housekeeping to tidy up our room, they didn't come. The first day we left out and came back to the room the exact way we lefT it. All of our dirty towels and washcloths were left on the bathroom floor and the bed wasn't remade. When I called down to the lobby they said I needed to call and let them know when I was ready for housekeeping service The parking is $27/day. read more

Although I gave this hotel 3 stars and there were things I definitely did not like, I would recommend this hotel. Room decor was great. Sliding doors for the bathroom were my fave. Relaxed beach feel with a touch of business class. The breakfast selection is the best I've had for a hotel breakfast ever. Gym was adequate. Some downsides: We had NO wifi the entire time we were there. They said it was a Comcast outage, but I have dealt with Comcast outages and they don't last 3 days. There was no compensation for such. The pillow on the couch in our room was dirty which made us concerned about how clean the room was. The gym did not have sanitizing spray to clean the machines before/after use, another cleanliness concern. You MUST valet your car, no self parking option. I believe it was an additional $28/day. The reason why we chose that place was that offered free parking on site "according to Priceline" once we got there to register they charged us $27 per night. The service desk lady had such an attitude that she didn't even bother to tell us how to get to the room and the breakfast closes at 9am, of course we missed it as we didn't plan for it. Fortunately a lady at the front desk gave us fruits as she felt sorry that we missed it. The bathroom didn't have shower cap or lotion, we called service room to if could get some help with no luck. Fantastic hotel. This place is in a perfect location, you can walk anywhere in a reasonable amount of time. Valet parking is available and very useful on the strip since parking can be painful at times. The rooms are large with a living room area, mini refrigerator, large table, large bathroom and the bedrooms all have a view to the swimming pool, which is on the the forth floor looking over the city of Clearwater beach. Once checked in, there is a mini pantry of snacks, drinks, and toiletries, in case you forget anything; if what your looking for is t in there, Surf style is directly across the stress, and they should have anything else you could be missing. Overall a fantastic experience, and very fairly priced compared to hotels directly near by. read more

We stayed here one night. After a long travel morning we checked in, room wasn't ready but they held our bags. We went and got lunch and explored the area. When room was available around 3pm we went and checked in. When arriving I our room I noticed it was a double room instead of the king I booked. This was disappointing because another hotel offered cheaper prices but I did not book as we wanted the king suite. After talking to the front desk she advised that the king room isn't half as nice and we should stay where we are. I reluctantly agreed. We went back to the room and laid down to take a quick nap before going out for the night. At some point not long later we were barged in on by other guests coming into our room. They quickly left and we applied the security lock. Then someone began knocking on our door, I responded and asked for a minute as I was changing and the girl from the front desk who checked us in (Erin) promptly opened the door. Luckily the security lock was in place, however i was attempting to close the door and remove the lock and she would not allow me to. I kept trying to tell her i needed to close the door and she kept telling me it was her foot in the door. after finally going back and fourth she allowed me the slightest push to get the lock off. when i opened the door she looked and me and said oh wow, this is so weird, we had guests complain that you were squatting. keep in mind she checked us into this room an hour prior and handed us the keys. After about 5 minutes of her just standing there staring at us and continuing to say this is so weird she finally walked away. Then about 5 minutes later our room phone rang, my husband answered it and they asked him to identify himself to which he did and they told him that his wife is in a totally different room, to which his response was no she is sotting right in front of me, a statement that apparently needed debating as far as this hotel was concerned. Thinking maybe perhaps this all was handled we headed out to dinner, after much reassuring to me on my husbands behalf as i was uncomfortable with the in and out of people in our room and uneasy about leaving our belongings behind. when arriving back at our hotel it was then that we found out our room keys no longer worked. This required me to return to the front desk yet again to get new keys to get into our room for the final time that night. This entire experience made me so uncomfortable sleeping that night, this hotel did a terrible job at trying to make this better by giving me a free Starbucks coffee card, which wasn't even open when we left the next morning. Extremely unsatisfied with the way we were treated. Pretty appalling for a large chain like this to allow this. We lucked out!!! This was the PERFECT spot for our wedding weekend and our friends and family were all very happy with their accommodations. Pros: Cecil and Kiersten MADE the trip!! They were super personable and helpful the entire 3 day stay. They feel like awesome hosts to our weekend party. Breakfast was great and the lounge area is perfect for entertain and getting a large party together. The location is fabulous as well. We didn't get into our car but once over the weekend because EVERYTHING is in walking distance. The rooms were nice and just right for our needs. Cons: Planning it with corporate and their event planner at the hotel stressed me out. They never talked and they never returned my calls to the hotel nor did the main Marriott # after I was passed on several times. Luckily Kiersten answered when I called to check again and she was able to put the rooms together. Only plus would have been actually putting the wedding party in the biggest room but oh well. There is also a required $25 a day valet fee for this location. That's pretty hefty if you ask me but hey, location, location, location. We'll be back for weekend trips!! read more

I highly recommend SpringHill Suites in Clearwater. We had a wonderful time at this hotel. When we arrived at the hotel, check-in was quick and easy, and the valet guys do an awesome job of parking/retrieving your car quickly. I was so impressed with the rooms. They were spotless and everything was very clean when we got to our double queen suite. It was nice to have the sleeping area divided from the couch. The tv could turn either way so my husband, the night owl, could stay up later watching sports. The rooms are modern and bright. They come with a mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker which is always a plus. They have a closet with plenty of room, along with an ironing board, hangers and bench. The rooms are very family friendly, even though we did not have our kids with us this trip, it's definitely a hotel I would come back to with the family. Normally at hotels I don't sleep very well because the beds are either too hard or too soft, but this hotel had the most comfortable mattress. It was firm but not too firm, and I actually slept really well. The bathroom is spacious with plenty of towels and a tub/shower. There is a gorgeous pool area outside the lobby overlooking the water. They also have an amazing breakfast with so many choices from hot cooked eggs, sausage and waffle machines to cereal, yogurt, fresh fruit, bagels and more. There is a business center and fitness center as well. It is only a short walk to the beach and local shops and places to eat. The views from the room's balcony are beautiful. You can see the water and it was so pleasant sitting outside. We didn't need our car the whole time we were there with so many places to eat, shop and the beach all right there. I am staying here for a work trip and began the trip with the thoughts thought of this place being a nice establishment. One night I was interested in getting in a workout in the 24 hour fitness center. I had some some very rude guests come in and tell me that I was making so much noise that I was waking up the entire floor and threatened to call the police after I was just bouncing a medicine ball. Now I know a hotel can't control the kind of impolite people that stay in their establishment but I found it shocking that the manager didn't even hear my side of the story and had the people ask me politely I would've have apologized and maybe changed my exercise but they were extremely rude and so were the employees. I will not be staying here again. Also, I have found several bugs crawling around my room and have heard the same complaint from other guests. read more

Terrible experience, by far the rudest and most unprofessional manager and workers i've ever seen. They were so rude to me and my Dad and treated us like we didn't know anything. The lobby smelt like dogs and the pool area was absolutely disgusting, with piles of wet towels everywhere. Never again. read more

It took 1 hour and 45 minutes to check in due to it being sold out and only 1 person working. We get to our room snd not only does it smell like cigarettes, there was hair in the bathtub and no shampoo or soap. Called down 4 times and NEVER got shampoo or soap. Was suppose to get a machine to get rid or the smoke smell or get changed to a bee room but had to have a manager call. Also NEVER GOT A CALL. I have never experienced anything like this. We paid for a service and majority of the services weren't met. read more
