The manager went out the way to make all of us feel special even though there were The rooms were clean comfortable. My family felt safe & secure. Also a more than adequate complimentary breakfast with sausage eggs muffins cereal grits oatmeal juice coffee bottled water - a great hostess who absolutely would not accept a gratuity. The Inn itself is located a stone's throw exit by car off a major Interstate behind a large convenience store & Popeyes eatery & security. Has an outside pool which is covered during cold weather.Conveniently located to several customer experiences-inclusive a barber shop Rose's Macdonald's Wendy's Burger King & more.

When I arrived 5 hours later, tired and ready to settle in. I was a little leery as it looked like a motel and there was a few folks congregating outside. This place would never been a choice for me in a low standard. Its in a subpar strip center right off of 95. The pictures and more are deceiving. There were people talking loud. This reminds me of an extended stay, possibly people living in the rooms and not temporarily. I walked in and the room smelled of stale cigarette smoke that was masked with a stuffy closed in room odor; atleast in the king room of the suite. The suites are actually separate room that have doors that can be locked or open adjoining them with separate outside entrance. Now to the biggest issue. After spraying, checking for bedbugs and more I bleached and wiped everything down. Two hours later we are preparing to go to bed and I moved a tablet and a brown roach ran from under the tablet and then one seem to jump down on the run toward the back of the night stand. I quickly tried to call the front desk. And of course the telephones did not work. Therefore I had to DRIVE to the front desk expeditiously! I was informed that they didnt have anymore large suites but had smaller ones that had 2 double queens and a pullout sofa. Nothing would soothe my raging mind and accommodate. Without many options other than sleeping in my vehicle. I was given bug spray; the fact that they knew they had roaches was alarming. Marketed online for $449 with out mentioning roaches but that with roaches is crazy. Please do yourself and family a favor and DO NOT come to this location. I should have checked this location myself before allowing another to select this for me. I walked in and the room smelled of stale cigarette smoke that was masked with a stuffy smell. I am so angry and tired. It was too late to get another room somewhere else.

We traveled from out of state and quickly learned that Wake Forest is a really pretty and serene area. Contrary, there aren't super close walking distance shops or restaurants. There are, however, Ubers available. If you rent a car, there is complimentary parking at this hotel in a nice sized parking lot. Staff work the front desk 27/7 which is another huge benefit. Upon checking in, text messages from staff will start to appear which are simple check points asking how your stay is and if any assistance is required. I appreciated this small detail because I felt as if help was at my fingertips if I needed it. The interior is very clean and while there is no onsite restaurant, there is a fully stocked market at the desk containing various chips, crackers, popcorn, beverages and some snack boxes with meat and cheese. There is always complimentary coffee and tea sitting out. In addition, breakfast comes with your stay and it runs from 7 am - 10 am. We thought the breakfast was good for a hotel breakfast and enjoyed the pancakes, sausages, oatmeal, fruits and milk. Another favorable onsite space was the exterior patio. Coming from a colder climate, we spent most of our Saturday on the lovely patio couch soaking up the sun and beautiful forest trees. The entire backyard is serene and private which we appreciated. There are many board games inside which you are welcome to bring outside or play at tables indoors. To get the pieces to the games, visit the front desk. While there is an indoor pool and workout room, we did not take advantage of either. Near the elevators, there is a whiteboard that lists various favorites in Wake Forest by categories such as bars, retail therapy, dinner spots and brunch. This was a fun creative touch to see traveling from out of state. As for the rooms, they are boxy and small. We appreciated how clean the rooms were and cleaning service is done every other day unless requested for more. Overall, the staff here is top notch and for a boutique hotel, were always available. We felt very safe here and even took advantage of some of the small walking paths and walked to Target. Thank you, Tru by Hilton!!

The only other option would have been to live out of our suitcases, but there really wasn't anywhere to set those out either. The bench is too small to hold them. Bathroom was a nice size with large bottles of shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. No idea the brand, but it was decent. But there is almost no water pressure so it takes a out 3 times as long to rinse your hair. The breakfast is complimentary, but it's the typical mediocre options. Every day there is cereal, yogurt, apples, oranges, bananas, bread, English muffins and bagels (probably frozen - definitely not fresh), and a pancake making machine. There are eggs which are on a 3-day rotation - scrambled, egg & cheese omelet and egg & cheese bites. The scrambled were the only ones I could stomach. The other 2 tasted like powder. Meat selection also changes. There was chicken sausage patties which were the best of the selection IMO. Other days there was bacon, pork sausage and then this kielbasa looking sliced sausage. Again, it is complimentary, but nothing made hot and fresh on-site. There are two elevators and there were ongoing issues with one of them during our stay. And the other one was temperamental. Digital key didn't always work which was frustrating so we were glad we grabbed an key card up on arrival. I don't think Tru will be out choice the next time we are in town to visit family. It's just not for us. I need to actually unpack and put my clothes in a closet and drawers.
