Funny story, the fuel pump quit on my red ford ranger. Shottenkirk burlington was the place I had…read moreto get it towed to for the replacement according to my Insurance company. I went along with that and just bit the bullet when i heard how much it would cost. I have done this myself before and it is not fun. Anyway, i went to pick it up today, now two weeks later. Wife and Daughter had to be involved in a 3 car meeting so they could get to Burlington, trade the explorer i was driving and also get the camry back home. At that point, i got into my truck and headed back to work as it was around 330, and I usually work until 5 or so. I noticed the fuel was low, so i stopped at caseys in Middletown. I put the nozzle in and heard a gusher of fuel under the truck. Turns out, they did not reconnect the fuel hoses to the fill hole and left them hanging off to the side. About 1/2 gallon of fuel went on the ground before I knew what was going on. I still needed fuel so i crawled under the truck in the puddle of gas and shoved the hoses back where they are supposed to be. Then i went into Caseys middletown to see what needed to be done about the spill. They said it was not too bad and put some oil dry down. So off to Shottenkirk I went. The customer service area is set up kind of like a university auditorium but instead of students there are customers, and the area where there would be some professors is where you talk to the people fixing your cars. I went in and was trying not to be 'that guy' but when i get angry and excited I tend to start TALKING REALLY LOUD and my voice carries pretty far. So i tried to explain this whole thing to the woman who I think might have peed her pants and she got a tech to come over and see what my issue was. By the time he got to me I took a chair in the auditorium area and everyone was either looking at me or wondering what kind of dumpster fire Shottenkirk was making of THEIR vehicles. The tech came back later and said he got everything hooked back up and gave me my keys. I went over to the woman that might have peed and asked who i needed to talk to to get some kind of a refund for this problem. She called Mike in on the intercom and I went back to my chair which i tried to make sure had as much unleaded 87 octane transferred to it. Mike came over and i went through the whole thing with him again in front of my audience and he said maybe we should go back to my office. I said maybe we should. The tech came back in and I said I understand the mistake , but, you and I both know what this should cost, and its about one fourth of what I am being charged. That is why I am not happy, and my beef is not really with you. So I think he was ok and was dismissed but then I was back to Mike to see what he was going to do. He gave me a 100% refund on labor. That left me paying for a 500$ or so pump that I could have got at AutoZone for $225. In the end its probably a good deal but I am assuming the rest of the job was done right. Jury is still out on that.

This place is a joke! Take your business somewhere else! Have an issue with my truck and service…read moreadvisor Joe didn't even get all my vehicle info right or submit claim right! He is a terrible advisor and doesn't return calls or have any customer service. Acts like he is on come! Plus called service manager Michael Allen and he was no help either and acted just as dumb! Don't buy or go there! Just another update as I took my truck to Shottenkirk and got oil change awhile back. Took truck to anther place this time and they found a broken O ring on my oil fill cap and my oils filter was pretty loose.

When it came time for a vehicle replacement, I had fallen in love with a certain model, trim level…read moreand color. I had already done my homework and knew exactly what I wanted to look for. Being a suburbanite, I toured the mega dealers here in KC Three, in fact, in different parts of town. Typical car sales people irritate me with the little games they want to play. So when I visited the dealerships looking for my choice of cars, I ran into the "jump-thru-hoops" attitude. I am very transparent when I get irritated, and can't hide it well. One salesman asked me what did I need with the upscale model, I didn't need the more powerful motor. That ended that visit. Another tried to talk me into a different color, because he had one on the lot and wanted to move it...but not discount it. When I called Robert at Cupp's, he was the only one who offered to do some computer searching, to see if he could find exactly what I wanted. In less than one day, he phoned back to say that he was unable to find my car, in the midwest, as I wanted it; but had taken my notes and figured the price to order it from the factory. It was less than what the city salesmen wanted for an alternate car, and I didn't have to play games to navigate through this deal. Within three weeks my car was delivered, exactly as I wanted. This historic dealership is visibly vintage, but holds a lot of character. Recently this site was in threat of being closed by GM, during its restructuring, but was saved, due in part, from an outpouring of support directly to GM ,by local residents and businesses. That should tell you something, when folks will go to bat for their car dealer.
