I recently made a cross-country trip and while traveling in Missouri, I had an incident with a deer that ran off after being hit. There was no blood and the car appeared to be fine, so I continued on only to discover the AC was no longer working. I still had about a four hour drive to my destination in Iowa, so I stopped at an Auto Zone and was able to confirm the fans were working and I was okay to drive without fear of the engine overheating. I just would not have any air conditioning. The weather was stifling and after Iowa I would be headed south. I arrived in Iowa on Sunday evening and stopped at Xpert Automotive on Monday morning to see about a repair. They confirmed the condenser was damaged and were apologetic that they would not be able to make the repair during my stay. There was an attempt to see about other shop options and when it was obvious there were none, they had a consult. After a brief period of time I was told they would be able to obtain the part later that day (Monday) and would work on the car after hours so I would be able to have it back on Tuesday WITH AC. I was so very grateful for their kindness! I was able to still make most of the visits I had planned on Monday before having to drop off the car and was also able to continue my visits on Tuesday after getting the car back. They dropped me off and picked me up at the hotel where I was staying as well. I know it was a sacrifice for them and feel they truly went above and beyond in their care of me and my vehicle in the situation I found myself in at the time. Thank you!! Thank you!! Thank you!!! This is the first review I have ever left in my life that was negative, but I had a horrible experience. I took my truck in to get the water pump fixed as it was leaking a very little amount of coolant. That was the main issue. I also told them that I would like to see how much valve cover gaskets, transmission pan gasket, transmission filter, transmission temp gauge, and emergency brake cable would be. I also asked them to go through the truck and tell me anything that was wrong with it because I just got it and would like to be aware of any upcoming issues. They said they would call me the next day. They never called back, so I called them 3 days later. They said that they would give me a call back when the person that checked it out was in. The main guy at the counter called me a couple hours later and told me the water pump needs replaced, and so does the valve cover gaskets, transmission pan gasket, transmission filter, and emergency brake cable. (Does that sound familiar to what I told them needed to be done?) They quoted me 1600 for the job plus however much transmission fluid it would take. I agreed. They did not mention anything else that needed to be done or that any codes were on the truck. When I took the truck in, I had NO check engine light. They said it would be done in 2 days. I did not see the truck for over a week. Which is fine, because things come up. But when they said it was done, my total bill was $2526. This is $1000 above what they quoted me. I asked why and they stated that they had to buy a transmission pan because the pan I have does not take a gasket. The type of pan I have is a Mag-Hytec Model #4R100. I will let you look it up yourself. https://mag-hytec.com/product/f4r100-e4od/ It definitely has a gasket that is $10 on their website. Instead, they charged me $450 for the pan. Notice on the site that the pan was only $380? Also the transmission fluid they charged $240 just for the fluid. It came out to be around $14 per quart which seems steep. My valve gaskets also leak still. My brake cable they put on is attached, but they did not bother to see if it worked or not (It does NOT). My truck also has a problem with the injectors. When I would go about 50, my truck would start to shake horribly. I also had a check engine light on now which I never had before. When asked about this the person at the front said that there were tons of codes when I brought it in and that they were confused as to why I wanted to fix what I asked them to before addressing the other problems. I was very confused because this is the first time I have heard that they found codes. In the beginning I asked them to go through the truck and tell me what was wrong. They just repeated to me what I wanted them to fix. Much more horrible stuff went on. Needless to say, I spent $1000 over what I was quoted and only the water pump was fixed. I took it to my normal mechanic and he said that they did not attach the injectors. The harness to the injectors is molded into the valve gaskets. He said they just did not get one attached all the way. He saw my bill and the stuff they did and laughed at me. Said I got hosed. They were unwilling to work with me as well or admit anything they did wrong in this. read more

Came in to have a transmission installed. Was quotes for the job and was informed on the reason the transmission had failed, if they hadn't caught the problem I would be out another transmission. Always going above and beyond. read more

Bobby's mechanic is very friendly and listened to us when he picked up our caddy to do brake work. When we told him about the passenger rear tire he found another issue. Amazing and fast. We are most definitely going to be doing business again in the future. read more
