My family and I were patients of Dr. Ruben Clark's for quite some time. I was always extremely happy with Dr.Clark and with the Care that he provided. I went through somewhat of an ugly divorce. My ex ex-wife was to pay the remaining bill. The last time I was seen at Dr. Clark's office a older woman was very aggressive and confrontational in front of other people and called me out about this remaining bill even though I was not responsible for it. It's very unfortunate because I really like Dr. Clark I was embarrassed by the lack of professional courtesy that whomever that older rude woman was was allowed to be behave in such a terrible manner because of this, I would never recommend this practice read more

I wish yelp had negative stars as my wife, two children and I endured this shakedown dentistry for far too many years. My wife worked in dentistry for 7+ years as a RDA chairside assistant and managed their office billings, recognizing such she felt compelled to give Clark dental the courtesy of attempting to better understand and work with them. Specifically Dr. Lucy is fantastic, which makes this review quite difficult. Unfortunately, Dr. Lucy is an anomaly within Clark Dental as other reviewers have noted there is nothing more paramount in this office than fleecing their patients for payments. My daughter who turned 26 and was recently was hired to practice law with a local law firm consequently had her insurance change and visited Clark dental for a cleaning on 3/18th. Given her age and job change her insurance broker called Clark dental on 3/18th and ensured them her coverage was effective 3/1st but unfortunately would not be in the system until 3/19th the office did not care and attempted to shake down my daughter for payment as apparently the $180 was more important than retaining our family as patients. Simply put if you want to be treated like an ATM machine Clark is the place for you, if you want to be treated like a patient I recommend you find ANY other dentist you can't go more wrong than with Clark! read more

It is unfortunate that I feel that I must leave this review, but it feels necessary considering the way I was spoken down to by the receptionists. Regardless of the hiccup I had with updating my insurance, the receptionists behave in a cold manner from the moment you walk in the front door. They never greet the patients but rather stare through you and seem put out having to check us in for an appointment. Upon telling me that my insurance needs to be updated, they were immediately so condescending and rude that they are unable to answer simple questions as they are huffing and puffing rather than engaging in a conversation. Further, the three women at the front all speak over each other, providing contradictory answers that hint at there being a less than streamlined process in that office. To summarize my experience, I have never had someone speak down to me in this manner and do not appreciate being treated as though I am unintelligent and beneath these staffers. Needless to say, Dr. Clark should probably invest in some customer service training for his receptionists rather than a staff Hawaii trip this year. We had the absolute best experience at Clark Dental yesterday. My daughter has sensory struggles and they are always good about working with her (will mix her home toothpaste with the unflavored polish, very patient, always make her feel special, give her autonomy). But, yesterday she needed sealants. She does not tolerate fluoride on her teeth and was very resistant to getting sealants. They scheduled her with a specific hygienist (although all of them have been wonderful) and talked to her the whole time. Dr. Valencia and Amy distracted her without her knowing that's what they were doing and told her about every step. They made sure she didn't taste anything and were so incredibly kind to her. They finished quickly and my daughter had a great time. They are always good with her (much better than the pediatric Dentist we started with) but they put so much thought and care into this appointment. My family always has a good experience but this visit was exceptional! read more

I've been using Clark Dental for about 10 years and have been happy with my cleanings. However, I find that when I need to change an appointment, the front office staff are unhelpful and highly inflexible. I always book my cleaning appointment 6 months out and have always kept them. Today I had to reschedule my June appointment (3 months out). The lady answering my call advised that there were no spots available in June and they were booking out to August. When I asked about cancellations to get rescheduled to another time in June, she said that would be up to me to call every day, two weeks leading up to my desired date, they didn't keep a cancellation list and basically they weren't going to help me any further. The same thing happened a few years ago. I pushed my appointment out several months because they couldn't accommodate the change in date and the cleaning was a lot harder (I didn't think a few months would make a difference but it did). At the time, the receptionist didn't even provide any guidance on how to get an earlier appointment. I'm considering switching dentists. Life happens and sometimes appointments need to change. I don't want to have to deal with this every time this happens. read more

Went in for my first visit today. I've been looking for an ortho office closer to home and decided on this place. The office is in the heart of EDH Town Center, on the second floor above the bike shop. Walking in, my first impression was "wow this is nice." The lobby waiting area was super nice for sure. I was greeted by a friendly employee who checked me in. Although it was my first time I didn't have to do paperwork since they emailed it to me a few days before. My appointment was at 11am and I was called in right on time. All of the rooms had nice big windows you can look out of. When I was brought into the room to get my cleaning, I was impressed. They had a TV hanging in front of me so my eyes were glued as I was chatting with the dental assistant taking my X-rays. She was super nice. After all the X-rays we're done, the dental assistant went to cleaning. When she laid me down in the chair, I was surprised to find a TV on the ceiling and she made some recommendations on movies, put a movie on as she worked on my teeth. She was super professional and always made sure that I was okay. I wish I remembered her name because she made me comfortable. After she was done, I was brought into another room where Dr. Clark was going to do a quick examination. The room also had a large window which I love. Finally got to meet Dr. Clark, he was super nice and super friendly. He took a look at me teeth and then I was off the hook. Overall, the office is stunning. I noticed that they cleaned everything after use. They're in a great central location in EDH and everyone I interacted with was super friendly. I straight up told Dr. Clark that I'm glad I found his office. And I stand by it. This was a great experience. Will be back in 6 months for my next appointment! First visit to Clark Dental in El Dorado Hills. We moved here and needed to find a new dentist. I searched Google and Yelp for the companies with the best reviews and then called them one by one comparing prices as well. I do have dental coverage, but my wife doesn't so it mattered what the prices are as well. Clark Dental had a new client appointment that includes X-Rays, teeth cleaning and a visit with the dentist all for $150. It's a great deal. Others dentists went as high as $450 for the same. After the first visit prices tend to be similar with other dentists. For establishing care and the super great ratings, we choose Clark Dental and are happy with our experience. As an added bonus (not the reason to select a dentist) they do lots of fun things like TV monitors in the ceiling, happy cool music and super friendly staff that makes the experience better for adults and kids. As someone who had not been to the dentist in YEARS, embarrassingly, I decided to go with Clark dental as my first stop as it was close and had good reviews. They were a little booked out but the front office was awesome, keeping in touch with me by phone/text for updates/cancellations and got me in sooner. Just had my consultation today which was comprehensive 75-90 min or so. super quick X-rays and evaluation. Laura was my hygienist and did amazing work without pain. Dr. Clark dropped by and explained things in a very laid back manner, super personable. Couldn't have gone any better and future plans very well explained and scheduled without problem. 5 stars on that alone. Its a beautiful office and the dentist has always been professional and courteous. The hygenists are heavy-handed and multiple times have caused considerable discomfort and pain during cleanings for both myself and my daughter. When we notified the hygenist about their technique both were rude and stated "it must be the patient you are overly sensitive" and would not consider the level of pressure (in one instance slipping with the cleaning tool jabbing the gum causing bleeding). Extremely rude, abrasive, and unnecessarily rushed. Zero patient consideration or customer service. Will never return. read more

I first met with Dr Coons and he was friendly, personable, and professional. He checked my teeth and reassured me that everything is fine. My hygienist Donia was THE BEST! She was also just as friendly and professional. She made my cleaning a comfortable and easy experience. When I told her I had incredibly sensitive teeth, she was accommodating and gentle. Let me first say my husband, myself and my children have been patients here for around 7 years. If I was only to review Dr Clark and our hygienist my review would be 5+ stars. Within the past year my husband switched his job within the same federal agency. His dental insurance was not carried over as it should have been. The mistake was fixed quickly and claims were paid within a few days. This is the ONLY time in 7 years there has ever been any issue with a claim. The woman who handles the insurance and/or office manager was extremely rude and unprofessional regarding this incident. It had taken me aback  but because I absolutely love Dr Clark and our hygienist I decided to just brush it off. Fast forward to last week. I had an appointment for a filling. In January my husband and I knowingly switched our provider because my son is about to do phase 2 of braces and the coverage was better. We both went on the website to double check Clark was a provider. The day before my appt I receive a call from Dr Clark's office. No message left. I then get a lengthy unfriendly text asking If we changed insurance and that they need it. I was busy shuttling kids to and from sports and did not reply. 8am sharp the next morning while getting children ready for school I have another missed call. No message was left. Then follows another lengthy text about how if my insurance can't be verified prior to my appointment I will be told to pay up front etc. I responded quickly with yes I have new insurance. I'm getting kids ready for school. At the office the woman texting/calling is to the left of the front desk. The other receptionist says  name please. I state my name. Without even making eye contact she RUDELY states do you have that card. I say, um hi, yes I do just like I said I would bring it. I ask if she was the one calling and texting and she glares at me and says yep. I told her that it was a little excessive when I'm coming in the next day and have been a patient there for over 7 years.  She then snaps back at me. This has happened before now hasn't it?! Referring to the time I listed above in 7 years when our insurance didn't carry over and was immediately corrected.  I said oh you mean the time that the insurance didn't carry over and it immediately got fixed and paid? She said yes I never said it didn't get paid. So personable and nice lol. At this point I'm a little bit frustrated because I've been a patient for so long  I've never not paid my bill.On top of that it's a filling so clearly not expensive. A few minutes later she tells me the plan is ready to sign. I go up to sign it  and she RUDELY tells me that Clark is no longer a preferred provider.  I was shocked since like I said we both verified it before switching over. I said I was confused because we verified it online and by phone. It was RUDELY told by her that doctor Clark has never been on a federal plan before. Our last plan was federal.  I couldn't even get a word in to say I'm going to pay the bill. It's only $170. I'd like to get my filling done.  At this point I'm so mad (still getting lectured by both) at the interactions that we've had thus far I don't even want to stand there and talk to her anymore. Instead of explaining anything or going back to get my filling done I'm so upset I just turn around to leave. As I'm  walking away she waits until  I'm walking towards the door and yells behind me this is why we request to do it beforehand! You can read this review and do with it what you may. I have never been treated so unprofessional and rude in a medical setting in my entire life. I started off seeing Dr. Kasner at first and I loved her, but since she left I'm now seeing Dr. Clark who is just as great. My husband and dad see Dr. Clark as well and both have had great experiences. I'm a big baby when it comes to dental work, but Dr. Clark is pretty gentle and thorough. The staff is great as well. Pricing wise, I think it's about the same as most dentist offices. I don't feel like it's over priced and Dr. Clark won't push unnecessary procedures on you. After another dentist in sacramento was telling me he wanted to put two implants in the place where one tooth was pulled which i thought would make my mouth look very weird, I went to find a new dentist that was closer to my home in El Dorado Hills. After setting up office visits at three different dentists in town my last stop was Dr Clark's office. As soon as I walked in, I felt welcomed. The staff is professional, upbeat and attentive to detail (offering water, making the environment fresh and inviting). Now let's move on to the dentistry itself. I had an implant in the healing stage, and at this point 5 missing teeth waiting for implants from the previous dentist. I asked Dr Clark to come up with a plan to get my mouth and smile perfect. I appreciate that they took the time to give me a plan to solve my massive dental issues. At this point I feel like i've had every service they offer lol. Deep Cleanings, Implants, Veneers, Root Canals, and everything has been FANTASTIC. Their patience and care is admirable and I appreciate them so much! Made appt to have a trouble tooth looked at for a 3rd opinion. Spent time talking options with Dr. Clark, explained how hard it is to find a good dentist that can keep an appt. I scheduled my tooth thier first Fri appt 1 month out, 1 week before they called and canceled. Then 1 week later they called again and cancelled our cleaning appts that were 2 months out. What the F is the point of making appts, if you dont keep ANY of them. 3 out of 3 Failure. Sooo, if you want to do a lot of insurance paperwork, wait a long time, then get your appt cancelled, this crappy dentist is the one for you. read more

Front desk is people are extremely rude and racist. When you inform that to Dr Clark he will just ignore your concerns. It's a good place for cleaning but not for complex procedures like root canal, crowns etc. They were not even able to diagnosed what's wrong with my tooth when I had a toothache but recommended a extraction. read more

BEWARE BIG TIME! Dr. Clark called me and was VERY upset about the 2 star review I gave his office and he argued with me on the phone for 15 minutes before hanging up on me because I refused to change my review. Everything I said in my original review was 100% true. I went to his office in pain and left in pain because they would not do a root canal on one tooth even though a root canal is about $960 for an hours worth of work but that wasn't enough money for them. Dr. Taber only wanted to do bone grafts and implants on two teeth. Everyone can't afford all that. The President doesn't even make $960 an hour. I think if you have very, very good dental insurance then you may be able to afford all the work they want to do. If you don't have dental insurance then I think you should find another dentist. read more

I brought my in-laws (both in their 90s who use walkers) for appointments for examinations and cleanings earlier this year. I chose this dentist because the receptionist felt she could schedule exams and cleanings at the same appointment, taking into consideration my in-laws' age and disabilities. The dentists and staff were capable and kind but in terms of time spent, they prioritized selling (implants and "part tooth", although there was no heavy sales pitch) over the actual cleanings, which were not done. Although the office is listed as handicap accessible on their dental plan network, it is not in practical terms. I waited with my in-laws for about 45 minutes in the waiting room before they were seen. They were required to get in and out of the examination chair in tight operatories several times. They went from the pano x-ray, into a dental chair for a dental assistant to take a look and take X-rays, out to the X-ray pano again, back to the examination chair, then up and out to another tight opreratory and into an examination chair to meet with the dentist, who recommended the implants and party tooth, and finally waiting for a bill and agreement for services. All with lots of waiting in between. After more than two hours, my in-laws were exhausted. It seems this office sees patients as a unfinished products moving through assembly stations. I was shocked because my dentist has patients sit in the chair and stay there while the dental hygienist and doctor come and go to complete their work. My cleaning is also completed before the dentist begins the examination. I am always out of my dentist's office in less than an hour for examinations and cleanings. Still, I think Clark Dental would be a good choice for a person who does not have physical disabilities. read more
