wow. Wow. WOW! Wasn't expecting much, but coming from Elk Grove, not all, but most dental offices are super old and worn down.... This place is definitely an upgrade. Staff were super nice and sweet. (I love the dental assistant's Spider-Man crocs, super cute.) Also, I was in dental cultural shock because Dr. Higgins personally did my dental cleaning. Just a little shock because it has always been the hygienist giving me a cleaning and the dentist will usually just pop in for 3 minutes to consult and leave. He's a really down to earth and professional dentist. I can tell he cares for the Folsom community and wow we shared the same school district growing up. He made it feel like a really safe space and gave me tips and wasn't pushy about anything. Utterly surprised a trip to the dentist can be so pleasant. Thank you !! read more

I walked in and was promptly greeted by the warm friendly team and quickly filled out paperwork and was back getting my x-rays and rest of my exam within minutes. From the X-rays to exam to the cleaning everything very well and smooth and the quality of care was amazing. I appreciated the gentle and thorough cleaning I received along with the communication and recommendations I received during my visit. I found this office due to what I though was possibly a dental emergency before the weekend the girl that answered the phone and was able to get me in promptly. When I checked in the staff was extremely friendly and professional. Dr Higgins runs an ethical business, which is a relief. I grew up going to the terrible Smile Time Dental who told me I had many cavities and uncessary procedures whenever I would visit. That isn't normal I later learned. Dr. Higgins assured me I had no cavities, and I've only been having cleanings for the past few years. They also take less unnecessary X-rays than other places which is good, and their X-rays are higher quality too. The oral hygienists are also take a much longer time cleaning my teeth than the other places I've been to, and they seem knowledgeable and kind, which is nice. I'd recommend them. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Higgins for over 5 years. I recently saw the doctor for a crown and cleaning. I mentioned to the hygienist, Natalie, that I would like to have a silver filling removed and replaced with white filling. After she checked with the doctor to see if it was possible and checking on insurance, I was given the okay to go ahead with the tooth. I couldn't have been more delighted! Dr. Higgins, as well as his wonderful staff, are the best. You are treated with the utmost respect and compassion. It is a very relaxing atmosphere as well. The overall office is clean and orderly. I think its been about 12 years since I've had a dentist check out my teeth. It was mainly on my laziness, not anxiety with dentists. The assistant was quick in taking my xrays. Heather the hygienist was very nice :) Dr Higgins replaced my old crown and it was unexpectedly a very comfortable experience! Considering that I haven't been numbed up for so many years, I was concerned that I would be sensitive due to unfamiliarity. However, I didn't have that problem. The slightest pinch and then all done. I couldn't stop saying "I didn't feel a thing!" while the numbness started to work. During the appointment, I kept forgetting to open my mouth because I was ready to nap. Considering any type of crown appointment is usually quite a hassle, Dr Higgins has a crown machine so I never have to deal with a temporary crown inconvenience! Hooray!!! Dr. Higgins is the most caring and attentive dentist I have ever had, and his staff is phenomenal. I've had a lot of dental work that needed doing thanks to a childhood of neglect (my parents never took me to the dentist to be frank, and I didn't really have good hygiene habits) and a young adulthood of not being able to afford regular visits. The kind of fixer-upper that would give most people nightmares, I'm certain. They've always tried their best to make me feel comfortable, and the work they've done to restore my teeth is nothing short of miracles. Yay I finally found a great dental office! When you walk in there is coffee and bottled water. A fun selection of pandora music while you wait, not the typical lame put you to sleep music. The place is warm and cozy. The office staff were helpful and super friendly! They got me in for an emergency visit even though I had never been there before. The dentist, Dr. Higgins was very personable and made me feel comfortable right away. This place even has massage chairs can you believe that! If I could give these guys more than 5 stars, I would. I have always hated the dentist, I grew up without fluoridated water and as a result have had lots of cavities, root canals, crowns, and plenty of bad experiences the dentist. I had no expectations of anything good here. Boy was I wrong! I have been going here for a few months and waited to post a review until I had tried most of the services. So far I have had a couple of fillings, a crown, and a cleaning. So I know for sure that the great first visit wasn't a fluke. Anyway, let's start with the first impression; the front desk gal is awesome! She is friendly but, also professional, efficient and approachable. Moving to the waiting area, not that I spent much time there (they get you in at your appointment time) but, in the couple of minutes I did spend in the waiting area I noticed they offer a beverage bar with teas and bottled water as opposed to sugary treats. All of my past dentists had candy or cookies (that always seemed a bit wrong to me) so the healthy offerings here are quite a nice surprise. The procedure rooms face out to a green belt and offer a nice view, the chairs have massage, and the piped in music is light, cheery and upbeat, all in all a nice and comfortable environment. Then on to the dentist, Dr. Higgins is really good. I was very impressed with his manner (gentle and patient) and his speed. He has in house crown manufacture capabilities which save both time and money. My crown was complete in one visit and my portion of the cost was considerably less than the last crown I got at my former dentists' office. Last but not least was the cleaning. Their hygienist was really great too. She took all the time needed to do a really good job. Even though they rock, I hope to see them only twice a year for cleanings but, if I need more than that, I am really happy to have found a place that I know will take great care of me and my teeth. read more

Dr. Higgins is the best dentist in town. His staff are all fun and attentive, his office is modern and comfortable. Kelley, my dental hygienist has always been an enjoyable conversationalist (even with a pick or two in my mouth). She took the time to give me top notch cleanings. The convenience of an xray machine that comes to you is nice; he even is able to display the images on the tv screen in your room for you (its the little things right?). The leather dental chairs are comfortable, they have a kurig machine and cold water at the ready. Dr. Higgins and his staff provide quality service, are great at encouraging me to floss and make me laugh out loud every year when the Christmas card comes. I LOVE this office! It's the first office, where I felt that it had an all around wonderful vibe. The staff were great, the facility was top notch (with massage chairs. river otters, up to date equipment, and great customer service. My only issue throughout the 2 years I went, was the limited hours that he is open. I found that to be a little inconvenience, and probably would have stayed, but I need to changed dentists because I work in Davis and it's hard to get there with his limited hours, because it makes me have to take off nearly a half day to go. However...... If you are in the area, and want a top notch AMAZING dentist experience I highly recommend Dr HIggins, you will not be disappointed! read more

Dr. Higgins was a very good dentist. He is really close to where I live and I love convenience. I went for a cleaning but I wanted to wait on giving my review until I got my fillings. Pros: -He was fast with his fillings and they look good -He's knowledgeable and skilled -He's a cosmetic dentist -Very reasonable prices -They have little refrigerated water bottles which is super cute. -They have little chapsticks which is adorable and useful since your lips get dry. -I have a tooth that has a crown and it's getting close to needing to be pulled but he wants to keep the natural tooth until it's absolutely necessary to get an implant, which is good. -Massage chairs. -He recommended I get a Sonicare toothbrush and even though he sells them there he told me they are cheaper at Costco. I was surprised he'd say that! -His staff is VERY sweet Cons: -My wait time to get fillings done was like an hour. Apparently there was bad traffic but it would've been nice if they told me so I knew why I was waiting so long. -Considering how much grief I was getting on my hygiene my teeth cleaning didn't feel very thorough. I have some deep pockets around my crown that they didn't seem to focus on. Maybe they were in a rush or they just got frustrated with my teeth :) -I told him about pain I'd been having in my crown tooth and he told my why it was happening (issue with the bone) but he didn't do anything/give me advice about it. EDIT: Dr. Higgins reached out to me personally to remedy my "cons", so I'm bumping this up a star. That was very nice of him to do. read more

Big jerks when it comes to their appointments.. I was sick over the weekend and I couldn't make their appointment on Tuesday and they still pushed the broken appointment fee on me. I called first thing on Tuesday since they were closed Monday and told them I was sick but they didn't show any compassion regardless. Seems to be the only dentist who thinks I need extra routine cleaning of all the other opinions I've gotten. Also turns out I've already maxed my benefits but they continue to keep making more appointments knowing it'll all get billed to me. I promptly changed dentists. read more
