I will be honest: I never considered flying into Clark because it required a layover somewhere, and I much prefer just flying direct. (Which meant flying into NAIA, dealing with Manila traffic, etc.) And then I was convinced by a close family friend to take Starlux Airlines and end up here. So, I did. And O.M.G. How glad was I for taking their advise! I love this airport! Disembarking and going through immigration was smooth. Claiming my bags was even easy. My most favorite thing about this airport is the lack of chaos caused by a crowd. It was the same way departing - checking in was a breeze. Going through immigration was fast. And again: very little crowd. There are eateries upstairs if you happen to come too early for check-in and even more grub options once you go through immigration. Talk about clean: it's clean EVERYWHERE!!! And to add cherry on top: parking was incredibly easy. And one more bonus: it's much closer to my home destinations. WOOHOO! It's one of those "never say never" scenarios. So I think it's safe to say I have a new favorite go-to airport in the Philippines now. Amazing first run. I think I found my new go to airport in the Philippines! It's only my second time in the Philippines and in many ways one can consider really my first trip (since the last time I visited I was two years old :D). For this trip, I arrived at Clark International Airport and it was so awesome. Arriving at Clark International Airport is so efficient. It's not crowded and I was easily in and out of the airport. The only thing that slightly delayed me was getting my e-pass (a mandatory form for folks arriving to the country and thru immigration) - but it's definitely faster than some of my other arrivals in others destinations (I recall my Europe trip taking me about an hour to get thru immigration in Barcelona). I'm a fan of the efficiency and how this airport is not crowded! This would be definitely be my airport of choice in the future in the Philippines. read more

This is my third time flying through Clark Airport, but having just experienced flying through Manila, which is currently the only other decent option going US to the Philippines, this is by far the better experience. The airport itself, despite being decently built out, still has the feel that it is still being expanded and polished, especially once you get towards the terminals. Even at peak traffic in the middle of the morning during the post-holiday rush, we were able to get through quicker than one would expect. Still a bit of a wait, but that's expected. There are a few decent food and shopping options after security. Honestly, given that most international flights include meals, I haven't stopped to eat that much more than a snack, but it's been good and reasonably priced nonetheless. The airport itself has high ceilings which helps suck up a lot of the sound, which makes even a hour wait before our flight very pleasant! Depending on your final destination within the Philippines, I'd definitely recommend aiming to fly into Clark, especially if you're going during a peak travel season. read more

If I could fly in and out of this airport everytime I come here, I woul dprefer that over Manila airport. Seriously, I breeze right through and I am at the curb within 20min. I think I wasted about an hour at Manila airport, just getting through the lines for customs/immigration and collecting my baggage. They have a lounge to sneak away from the crowds. They serve amazing food, alcohol, coffee, teas . You can only access the lounge if you are an international traveler (Prioity pass, any of the elite airline proviledge club members) Definitely a nice treat when I am at the airport just a tad bit early. Lastly, there are a few grab and go restaurants there for snacks and drinks once you pass security. read more

They guide you if you need some documents or if your luggage is over weight. Even at Passport control they don't scrutinize you like how they do it at Ninoy International Airport. I flew into this airport which worked out because Angeles was my jumping-off point to the north and south. It wasn't a bad airport by any means. It was quite small but there is a newish area(maybe an entire terminal) that they've finished recently. There were also some ads on the walls about a Singapore route being added soon. A Singapore route has to be great for the area. On future trips I have planned, that would be a good option if I wanted to pop over to check Singapore out. I flew out of Manila and after seeing the hectic way that airport is run, I craved this airport. I might check the next time to see the price differences between Clark and MNL. Coming through customs was simple. Plenty of lanes open and the line moved fairly fast. This was my final destination so I wasn't looking to eat there or spend much time. I made my way to my bag, exchanged currency, and exited. When exiting, it was a bit intimidating as you walk out of the door... there are about 100 people lined up and waiting for their anticipated guests. I mean... I had people waiting too but I felt like a movie star or something with all of those people. I wasn't entirely sure if I was going to call a Grab Car or what. There were plenty of cabs close to the exit. We hired a ride to the hotel for about 600 pesos. I probably could've got a cheaper ride through Grab but it was a small price to pay for the convenience of being able to find my bed immediately after a long flight. I'm not sure about others' comments on watching for security... I mean, don't you tend to do that everywhere you fly? I didn't have any issues and besides the weird ex-pat waiting in line in front of me, it was an excellent introduction to the country. read more

Best airport to fly in and out of the Philippines from abroad. Was in and out in less than 30 minutes. Even tho, some people may complain about the lack of shopping and restaurants, those amenities pale in comparison to the ease of flying in and flying out. Passport control was painless. Virtually no line. This is the only airport where I can write this about. Check in was orderly and boarding for our flight to Doha was a breeze. From now on Clark International Airport will be my airport of choice to fly into when traveling to the Philippines. I am thankful my husband and I had a good experience here. Mind you, this was prior to the recent renovations and opening of the New Passenger Terminal Building (NPTB), so you can imagine how much more spacious it is now. For those of you flying in and out of here after May 2, 2022, lucky you! For the most part, everything was pretty efficient. Security screen checks were a breeze as well as the baggage check-in process. Our terminal at the time was pretty small and was a waiting point for us to board a bus that would take us directly to our plane on the tarmac. My cousin who accompanied us on our trip owns a chain of restaurants in the Philippines, so it was nice seeing their kiosk in the terminal we were waiting in. Their food basically kept us filled prior to boarding our plane. Once we boarded our bus, it was smooth sailing. No issues whatsoever. Days later, when we arrived back, we picked up our luggage from baggage claims, and my cousin's driver was waiting for us at the door. No complaints here. read more

Cebu Pacific's service is really really bad. Service was really bad and are inexcusable and unacceptable. First of all, we tried to check in our luggage via online and the system was not working so we were forced to do it at the airport. If we were able to do it online we only have to pay P700 per luggage but because we did it at the airport we have to pay P2000 per luggage. We even showed the receptionist what the system was doing and he saw the problem. But they still charged us the P2000 per luggage. We didn't have a choice so we could just start and enjoy our vacation. As soon as we got to the gate we were notified that it was delayed and instead of boarding at 10:05 departing at 10:55 it was moved to 12:50. So now it's time to board, they checked our tickets and ID and everyone was already boarded in the bus, they told us to go back upstairs to gate 6 because of some bull shit excuses. We don't need for them to compensate us with a piece of Wendy's chicken. We paid for this flight and we expect them to give us a service. I don't give a fuck if it's good or not as long as it'll take us to the place where could enjoy our vacation. How could we enjoy our vacation if Cebu Pacific already ruined by delaying the flight and having us spent most of the day at the airport. Majority in our group are seniors, is that really fair that you treat your customers like this. This is UNACCEPTABLE. I had the same problems before and I heard a lot of people complained about the services of Cebu Pacific, I am begging you to please do something about it. read more

Most of the reviews for this airport are right. It's not a huge airport and whats with the 600 peso fee for outbound international flights. This is the most ridiculous thing ever. At least the lines at the counters for Cebu Pacific and Scoot go quickly. The staff were friendly and helpful. Asian food options for eateries. Convenience! Convenience! Convenience! I grew up in this city and so glad that this former US military base was utilized to benefit the Filipino traveler. It's a small airport that serves flights to domestic airlines Cebu Pacific. International flights by Cathay Dragon and Philippine Airlines are primarily offering flights to Singapore, Hongkong or even connecting flights to US and aborad. To make your checkin as smooth as possible, be at the airport 2 hrs before your flight. You can show online boarding passes if you have them on your cell phone but there are no scanners for those so just ask the attendant to print out paper boarding passes when you drop off your luggage. At the door, show your passport and printed itinerary or boarding pass. In my case, I checked in online; just show the email that confirms your online check in. Next step, drop your luggage, including carry on in the xray machine. Take off your wristwatch, belt, shoes, and anything that may be hiding in your pant pockets. No need to remove your electronics or laptops from your carry on. Next, your carry-on will be searched prior to dropping off your luggage at the counter checkin. They can print boarding passes for you. Proceed to immigration. Depending on where the destination is, you will be required to pay trrminal fee (600 pesos per person). At the immigration kiosk, show your passport & boarding pass. Then security check. Take out your laptops, ipads, cellphone, shoes, belt, wrist watch, etc. and into the bin. After this, show your boarding pass to the atrendant before you proceed to the gate. There is a departure screen to your right next to the escalator. There are 5 gates designated for each departure. I like sitting on the lower level while waiting to board because it's cooler there. The upper level is a much wider area but it's warmer. There are two lounges (smoking & non) that you can avail of. I don't know how to get access to it so just ask around. There are stores that sell food, beverage, souvenir & gift items. Bottled water costs me 90 pesos. It is slightly expensive but that's what you can expect from airports anywhere you go. Door to gate, took me 5-10 minutes. Goodluck on your trip. Hope this helps a bit. read more

Normally you can't fly direct from the States but need to do a stop like places like Hong Kong or Singapore first. My experience at Clark okay. The only reason why it gets 5 stars is because it's only an hour away from my house compared to the 5 hour trip to Manila. The only down side is that staff takes their time when it comes to collecting your belongings at the baggage claim. The dude that checks our baggages through the X-ray didn't even look at the monitor when our bags went through. Well air-conditioned waiting area, with small number of vendors provide snacks and drinks before flight. With only 11 gates and 2 flight operators: Cebu Pacific and Philippines Airlines (PAL), prices to fly out of Clark can be more expensive than from Manila but boy.... traffic to Clark is much better especially from Subic Bay and other Luzon locations. read more

Diosdado Macapagal International Airport in Clark is home to the Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta which is held every February of the year. This year (2015) they were on their 19th year and each time they want to bring something new to the event. I particularly like the displays they have on site to keep you occupied during the break like the car displays, the tiangge and the aeronautical schools and the different courses they offer and of course with the school comes the displays which you can get up close and personal with their planes and get your pictures taken or get a feel of what being in the cockpit feels like. Hey, who knows maybe it'd inspire you to become a pilot too! They also put on a show in the event to showcase what they can do! I can tell you right now that it's awesome. The hot air balloon flight is of course the main attraction and if you haven't been to one then I should tell you to go there really early so you can save a spot near the barricade (because you can't go near the flight area), bring a mat so you can sit or lay in the grass while you wait, hydration is key! don't forget to hydrate yourself to avoid any incidents, bring extra cash because no matter how prepared you are, you'll never know what you might see in the tiangge! They have a lot of food options there so you don't have to worry about that. I would also recommend you stay at a hotel so you won't be stressed from travel and you can enjoy the event more! This airport has so much potential if it were updated. I currently reminds me of a regional second tier airport in the US. The airport has great flights the the ME and Asia Then this airport is not a convenient one to use. Never seen any airport with no kiosk to check in. You wait in a line to get to the airline counter. Tell me why you then if are a filipino have pay a dam fee to fly. Ticket can be 999php but your fee is 1620php then you have to go back to agent counter to get boarding pass. Add this fee into ticket like other airports. Then you have to pay another fee called terminal fee. I do not know why paying a fee to sit in a terminal. Maybe its for the free hour of wifi or use of the toliets. Most flights you have to take a darn bus to transport you to plan as few use gateway. The lounge her is ok nothing special. The staff is friendly. The terminal food is limited nothing special. They do have great bus service at certain hours to metro Manilla via Genisis bus. There is limited taxi service and if so its a bit pricey. Grab is limited. There is a jeepney that is the shuttle service to take you to the Dau terminal to take bus service to other areas in PH. Its operates on PH time. If this airport is supposed to be a back up for Aquino they must automate the fees and also add kiosk to allow check in. read more

Flown to and from this airport a few times. I actually prefer to fly from here since my family is from Tarlac City and flying to and from Manila airport is pretty hectic aside from the 3-4 hour commute travel. It's a small airport in which not that much airplanes land. I like it though, I would give this airport 5 stars but I would give it 3 because their immigration officers here are far more stricter than the manila ones. My fiance and I were scheduled to fly out of this airport to hong kong, and I just passed through immigration within 15 seconds and I looked back and she was getting interrogated by the immigration officer about why is she leaving and how long she will be leaving for and asked for proof of ticket that she is coming back in which luckily I printed out the itinerary for. After my fiance showed her all of those things, she continued to interrogate her by asking way too much questions about our engagement and the time and date and asked for pictures from her phone. Dude, we have a flight ticket to go back home. and why the ef would an airline sell tickets to filipinos to go to Hong Kong in the first place without any restrictions? this experience was pretty ridiculous and I was getting angry because she questioned her for about 5 minutes. Good thing I didnt end up yelling at that officer, btw she was a female immigration officer, my thoughts was she was probably jealous that a filipina is engaged to a USCitizen read more

it's small international airport, so it's not too crowded and lines were not too long. at least this was the case for early morning flights like at 1:50am. More importantly, there's a 600 pesos airport fee per person after you check in. This was completely unexpected especially since we spent most of your pesos already since we were leaving for the states. They want it in cash and in pesos only, so be prepared. read more

Am an ofw who arrived last january 2 at this airport (my first time). Together with many ofw's kababayans we have to undergo the necessary protocols (vaccine cert., ohp etc.) control, and we have to wait for our turn. As I couldn't contact my children not having a Philippine simcard I decided to buy on one of the booths on the arrival area. But was stopped and had to go back to my seat as there was an important announcement for us. While seated a young lady approached us selling smart simcards. We asked for the price and she told us it costs 999.00. Which you can use for 1 month...unlimited calls and unlimited texts and of course the internet. So my seat mate and I bought one each and asked this young lady to insert the simcards in our phones. I had totally trusted this young lady that she did whatever has to be done. She said she had activated and all the promos therein. Without bothering to look at the simcard's cover we hurriedly went to the calling assistant telling us it was our turn for the interviews. In short everything done and was finally out and had taken the bus which will take us to the quarantine hotel. I made a call, arrived at the hotel and was taken to our assigned rooms. Now the problem came. On january 4 I received a message from smart telling me that all the promos had expired and have to make a load. Of course it came as a surprise! I paid 999.00 which they say was good only for 2 days? Panicking I searched my bag and found the simcard's cover and saw that it costs only 40.00! How could a co filipino tricked you just for the sake of money and an ofw at that who worked hard till late at night to earn money? How many are we who paid that much for a 40.00 simcard? Maybe the airport authorities could check on this. They cannot continue tricking persons just to earn extra money.
