Decent regional/domestic airport in Manila that handles only local flights. It's pretty basic but gets the job done. There's small kiosks to buy food. There's Filipino food, a seattles best and Papa John's. Restrooms/WC are clean. An attendant is just outside and cleans it regularly. There's an Infant feeding room and a small kiddie lounge. 5 boarding gates right next to each other. Can't miss it in the small boarding area. Lots of seating. Tips: 1. Check in online to avoid long lines. 2. Arrive 2 hours before your flight if you have checkin bags. If the flight is full and you come late, your bag might not make the flight and arrive on the next. 3. If you have checkin bags and did #1, Scan boarding pass and print bag tags at machine on left side as soon as you enter checkin area. Then go to bag drop. Note: For people with mobility issues, definitely no PWD accommodations. They might try to carry you up the stairs to board the plane. This is one of my favorite layover -Narita airport. Duty frees are my first stop and I like to get snacks from here such as the Japanese seafood chips and the pistachios covered in wasabi. So good! Unfortunately, I couldn't roam around the whole airport the last I was here bcs this airport is massive as well and I only had an hour to spend here. There's so much to do when you have the opportunity. You can shower, store your goods while shopping, shop shop shop, eat and buy whatever Japan -made are available. There are several Japanese souvenirs stores and high end shops as well. I recommend to everyone to stop by here. You won't be disappointed at all. The best part is and most favorite thing here in Japan is the presentations when I buy something like candies, snacks, etc. They always take pride in their products and are nicely packaged with care and personal touches. Quite honestly, one of the worst airports I've been to internationally anywhere!! Los Angeles airport seems better in comparison to this domestic airport terminal. Whether you're getting dropped off or getting picked up, I definitely found this airport to be quite unorganized. I feel bad for people who need to catch their flight or plan on getting picked up. The arrival and departure parking was confusing for foreign visitors. If you're not from Philippines or Filipino, make sure to find a white taxi cab. The cost to use a white taxi cab is much cheaper in comparison to using the yellow taxi. What's the difference? Yellow taxi cabs charge much more and they charge by metro prices as opposed to white taxi cabs, they have a cheaper price bracket and can drive a little far to where you need to get dropped off. Aside from the drop off and/or pick up location, the airline carriers they have are AirAsia, Cebu Pacific and Philippines Airlines. All three aren't the best carriers but AirAsia seems to be the cheapest and closely reliable to get to your destination within some of Philippines islands. Check in process from the counter is fairly efficient, TSA check for luggages goes by quickly but after you've gone through past security to get to your gate, there's not much to see and do. Small vendor shops and very little choices to eat. Charging stations are very lacking, so you better bring your own portable charger. There is a possibility your flight will be delayed. Which happens quite often. I'm not sure why but keep yourself occupied. Once your flight gets called, hurry to the gate! People apparently run to the gates, even though they haven't been asked to get onto the plane and check passengers airline tickets. Nonetheless, this is the only airport terminal to fly to Cebu, Palawan, etc. Worth it? Well, yeah. Not much choice. You're stuck to using Philippines domestic airport terminal. Very small airport to go to domestic flights within the Philippines. Pretty clean airport. Their bathrooms (comfort rooms) are pretty clean but outdated. This bathroom does have a toilet dubai for cleaning your butt! Haha I recommend when traveling anywhere in the Philippines to bring tissue or baby wipes anyway as many places do not have tissue to use. LOL Make sure you have a driver to take you and head there early due to traffic. Supposedly three hours before. Once you get dropped off, you will have to go thru security. After security, if you don't have anything to check in, you can do the self check in but still need to validate your ID with attendant. Staff are ok and not as friendly as I thought but then it's really early in the morning. After check in and you get your boarding passes, you go thru another security. This security is really not security...bhahahaha Maybe, I shouldn't have said that! ;-p Their waiting area to board area is pretty big and you just need to wait for your boarding number to be called to get in line. They do have TV's to watch sport games or shows. I got to watch last night's Warrior's game! There are a few stores to shop or buy food. They do have Cinnabon, Seattle's Best coffee, Goldilocks and Papa John's Pizza that I am familiar with in the states. They have Smart and Globe prepaid stations for unlocked phones. The domestic terminal. This was one of the worser terminals I've been in but not completely awful. It was really crowded and cramped, both at check-in and in the waiting areas after security. All the seating area chairs were taken up either by people or their bags. Past security, there was a small Mister Donut stand, a Cinnabon, a Papa John's, Seattle's Best Coffee, and several small cafe stands. One sold plain rice and pork and plain rice and chicken. Most of the food looked unappealing. There was really nothing to do but wait and wander around the room. No lounges. At least the A/C worked so the room wasn't hot. And free WiFi worked. The restroom and floor of the waiting room were kept clean by service personnel. read more

The domestic flights terminal. There's about 5 boarding gates in 1 big room. All there is in the waiting areas are rows of seats, still not enough for everyone. It's like all travelers are in a pack of sardines. Several retail/food shops. Nothing worthy. If you have a long layover, make sure you have something to keep you busy/entertain. This is a small "terminal" & old school. When it's boarding time, you either walk out to hop on a shuttle to get to the plane or you walk to the plane & board. read more

It's the old domestic airport and it has not changed much from what I remember coming here when I was younger. The seats are limited. In my two visits this year I wasnt able to sit. I was dreading my flight because of the bad reviews. But was pleasantly surprised with the cleanliness and efficiency... and the cold aircon. Yes, it can be a bit confusing during drop off and pick up for foreigners. So best to pre arrange your pick up. once you're inside, everything you can expect from a small airport is evident. If you prefer a bigger airport for domestic flights, take cebu pacific. But if you want quick check in and baggage claim- use terminal 4. I had the same flight time with my brother Caticlan- Manila. Their flight left 5mins before mine. They used Cebu Pacific and terminal 3 arrival. Due to the larger terminal 3 airport, they were able to leave the airport 45mins later than me. My baggage claim took 5 mins. I took Air Asia which was on time going to Caticlan and coming back. (Caticlan airport is the unbearable one) Small airport. Very simple. Yet very easy. Fast check in with Air Asia. Took me 5mins. Fast security check. Waiting area has no comfortable seats. But not really a problem because it is clean and aircon is cold. You walk outside to the airplane. Might be a problem if it rains though. There is a water filling station (hot and cold water available with paper cups), a charging station, very clean toilets, Seattle's Best coffee stall, and other food stalls. I saw a massage area, prayer room, breastfeeding room. What I like most with NAIA terminal 4 is everything is quick and easy. Because the terminal is small and few airlines use it. The terminal (if memory serves me right) was recently renovated hence, the more contemporary accents and look of the airport. The terminal is tiny compared to the other three, and is rather basic and forms basis for its use exclusively for domestic flights which use smaller aircrafts. Check-in area at least on my experience was dizzying and disorganized, with check-in counters placed side by side and lacking adequate spacing in between (got confused as to which line was for my flight). The gate area resembles that of most domestic terminals with exception to those which were recently constructed such as Iloilo, Bacolod and Laguindingan. A mass of seats to be shared by the gates and several stalls to decorate the sides is all. It's a no frills airport, with the sole purpose of getting people on and off the planes. read more

I was here several years ago on my first domestic flight and I was so excited I didn't really notice that it was quite rundown. But yes, in fact it was. It felt more like a dilapidated bus terminal than an airport. I heard that it had been renovated since but I hadn't really flown from there since my flights were always from Terminal 2 or 3 after that. But just this week I finally got to fly from Terminal 4 and it looks worlds apart from the one I went to several years ago. The airport is all bright and white, with red accents (probably because of the red in AirAsia's logo, as this is the airline that flies from and to here). The space still feels kind of small and the layout is not really intuitive, particularly for the boarding area. After checking in my baggage, I was looking to the left or to the right or even up ahead for the boarding area, until the check-in staff told me it was behind the lines of the check-in counters. It definitely looks better than several years ago, though. read more

First time through terminal 4 for an international flight. This terminal does not allow anyone in without a ticket. Once you are in you cannot come back out, so plan to say your goodbyes before you go in or you'll be in for a sad experience. The terminal inside was very nice with great vendors and last minute items to take home. This is in stark difference from when you arrive. NAIA Terminal 4, or the "Old Domestic Airport" will always hold a special place in my heart, because it always meant the beginning of most of my family's vacations. I spent so many hours at the pre-departure area with my cousins. I've always kind of loved its kind of provincial airport vibe. Nevertheless, it was a welcome surprise to see how much it had improved since I was last there. I understand that perhaps it isn't the airport designated for international flights, but they do have this facility. I'm not sure how the processes for domestic flights are, but I found those for international flights mismanaged. Although simple in layout and procedure (supposedly), there was a lack of signage and clear direction about which way to go. Sure, there are makeshift counters (outdated tables) for you to pay the necessary taxes, with some sort of sign board, but no one was ever really clear about the sequence of which table you're meant to follow. My friends and I lined up at the travel tax counter, but were instructed to line up at the check-in counter because they weren't sure whether or not we actually had to pay, because we checked in online and had print outs of our boarding passes, instead of the itinerary and price breakdown. The check-out counter, of course, instructs us to go back to the travel tax desk to pay first. As snazzy as the new airport is, the upgrade is only surface-level. The Domestic Departure area, after it went heaps of renovations, has still a lot to improve. But kudos to a clean and well-maintained comfort room with enough supplies of hand sanitizer, soap and tissue. I don't mind an inadequate space on the waiting area as long as the comfort room is decent. Prices of food also shoot up. An 8oz of instant coffee costs around 50php, while a beer of can will only cost you 55php. Haha. Crazy, right? read more

I remember hearing that this was an old airport, so I wasn't expecting something big and lavish. But I was extremely disappointed with the way it was still handled and maintained! It's pretty unorganized when it comes to being dropped off and picked up. The traffic within the airport is just as bad as it is anywhere else in the Philippines. For my trip, we were heading to Boracay, and we waited for at least two hours with constant delays. Their reason being that there was "air traffic", meaning our plane kept circling around above us in the air because there were so many other planes taking up the gates that had yet to depart. The only great thing about this airport was that the bathrooms are well taken care of. There's always a custodian there making sure each stall is clean. A good tip though, regardless where you are in the Philippines, is to bring toilet paper or baby wipes with you since the restrooms don't provide tissues themselves! read more

It's good to see that they're finally doing some renovation in terminal four! This has always been the airport that was small and old. It's like the forgotten terminal. People forget it exists, well at least for me. It was for domestic flights so people in charge probably didn't see the need of a big and nice looking one. That's just the message I got when I first set foot in this terminal. I know that domestic flights are just as important so I really believe that something should be done to improve the facilities. It's pretty small for a lot of people who travel and there are only two carousels for claiming checked in baggage. Even if the system seems to be doing fine, they should consider more aspects of improvement. Terminal 4 is doing fine and looks fine. There are no doubts about it but it would be good to make it better than it is. read more

This airport makes me sad. I've been coming here since 2003 when my friends and I decided to check out Boracay and haven't stopped coming back since. It has been renovated several times since then and there are some minor upgrades that bear notice and commendation but on the bottom line, I think that it just needs to be fully reconstructed. The AC is perpetually not at a comfortable temperature, there are but a handful of kiosks and restaurants to choose from, and there are simply not enough seats here. I don't know where our hard-earned taxes are going, but it sure ain't here. read more

I have been traveling all over the world including 10+ Asian airports and this is the worst terminal of all. Note after reading some other reviews, it seems this Terminal was recently renovated. I can't imagine how it was before as this review is based on a very recent experience after this so called "renovation". Very small, very crowded, and to make up for the overcrowded state and body heat of so many people waiting in a small area they pump the A/C to an extreme so it feels like a blizzard in some areas. The airlines do not properly coordinate with the airport screens so when our flight was delayed the airport terminal screens do not update. They also fail to properly announce delays and updates for passengers so waiting can become frustrating with no known departure time. We had to constantly get up and ask the Air Asia personnel for a realistic departure timeline. Why have the screens if no one updates them? Also the floors were very dirty. Avoid this terminal if at all possible. read more
