I was looking for a new place to walk and thought I would check out this park. The parking lot is small, so it doesn't appear to get very crowded. There's a small lake with a dock, and some little bridges off to the left. I thought there might be a path that went around the entire lake, but I ended up about half way and reached a fence and needed to turn back. The water, the trees, the flowers and the fields were really pretty. Its a nice, quiet park.

I LOVE THIS PARK. This review is for all the time I spent there last summer. Being from San Diego, I'm used to parks looking flat, grassy, and maybe with a jungle gym and baseball lot. This place is more like a taste of the forest in the middle of busy Kent! This is a great place to bring the dogs, since it's bright, the landscape is dynamic, and it's never crowded. At most, I've seen maybe 3 other people at a time. During the summer, the lake view is gorgeous! Overall, it's not extremely large, but it hits the spot when you want to walk around for about an hour and take in the beauty!

Close in location with lots of walking trails, great spot to take the dog! Very clean too, didn't see much litter, a nice surprise!

Visiting from Utah and found this hidden gem, from a Google search. Easy trails, well kept area. Seen plenty of wildlife that included geese, ducks and squirrels

I absolutely LOVE this park. I went for my first time today, as it was my day off and it was TOO nice to stay inside. The parking lot is right off a main road, so I wouldn't be too worried about break-ins, really. The parking lot was also in good condition - I've noticed a lot of parks in Kent have dented signs, overflowing trash cans, etc. Not this one, though! The sign was clean and there was a bulletin board covered in lost/found pet flyers, band flyers, etc. All of the reviews talking about "Oh, it's too short!" clearly didn't take the time to explore. There is a straight shot right to the dock, yes, and it'll probably take about 8 minutes tops, but there are so many trails around the lake that can be explored. A lot of the trails break off into smaller trails as well in order to give visitors more to see. I was here for a little over an hour, and I only stayed at the dock for about 20 minutes. The rest of my time was spent exploring. Sitting at the dock was by far the best part of my day. The smell, the sun, the birds chirping... Just awesome! I was glad to see that the trails and the whole park itself wasn't covered in too much litter. Very minimal, actual. There were a lot of bird houses hung up around the lake too which was a cool thing to see. It was a perfect day to visit - the birds, bees, butterflies, and even a SNAKE was out! It slithered right across the main dirt trail, so they're not scared to stop by and say hi! If you live in Kent or are just in the area and need time to kill, this is a definite go-to spot. So glad there's a place to indulge in nature therapy in Kent.

My 2 1/2 year old and I visited this park today. The parking lot probably has 6 or 8 spots plus a handicapped spot. So imma betting it fills up on a nice Saturday or Sunday. There are lots of offshoots of the path, and the kiddo had lots of fun deciding the route. We heard birds, saw an ant hill, pointed out the water, and just generally enjoyed exploring nature. It's a pretty nice bit of wilderness where people and animals alike can roam around. Have your kid go to the bathroom before they come. I don't think there are any bathrooms.

3 Star is A-OK and that is what it is - not Yeah I am a fan. First of all it is supposed to be dogs on a leash. Not happening. Second - more of a dog park than a people park. Other then us - I only recall two other groups without dogs. Even those people with dogs on a leash - they have those long leashes and seem to think everyone wants to be smelled by their dogs. I can see if you live here - it might be a fun place to exercise but there is not a lot of scenery to see. I definitely would not bring kids since twice we were "attacked" by dogs that came running up. Owners could care less. I only found one place you can really see the lake and not much wildlife around - we were there on a beautiful Fall afternoon.

I love this place! It is one of my favorite places to go on walks all year long! The only bad thing I have to say about it is that I once encountered a person who had a very aggressive dog off the leash that kept following my boyfriend and I, barking and growling at us. That was only one time and I doubt it will ever happen again. Other than that, it's a great place to go on a walk!

Nice wooden walkway paving shrouded by trees towards the lake

Due to its close proximity to my house (roughly 1+ mile), I jogged on over here as part of my workout for the day. It's quiet and serene.

It was very beautiful, I went in for a little photo shoot and got good pictures but we couldn't find the old barn that we were really looking forward to.

So much to do and so much fun activities for the kids!!…read more They fixed the playground so there were additional games the kids can do. The best part is you can visit their website and you can check if the water is okay for the kids to play with . There's usually an update regarding if you can swim and such. The only thing I'm worried about is when there is no one there to facilitate the other kids swimming, because I noticed there were lots of kids who goes there without their parents or guardians. The cops do come around for their rounds sometimes, but not all the time . I always have my eyes on my kids because there were sooooooo many people and soo many kids during school break holidays and I can't even imagine summer break. If you want to entertain your kids for hours bring them here and just have a picnic and enjoy the sand with the kids. Don't forget the shovel and bucket though lol.

Nice pier that goes over some of the lake to take in veiws and to fish. Nice swimming area and it was busy with kids occupying the area but I still felt it was too nippy outside to really enjoy the water. The Funland part is kind of an elaborate wood jungle gym which looks like a great place to let kids play in. Plenty of room in the park to spread out and and do picnics and just hang out. The weekend I went the park was popular with all of it's amenities including a snack vendor which was in the building where the restrooms were next to the lake. Parking isn't too bad but I was a little bit concerned if I was going to find a spot but there are two lots that you can use and the one towards the entrance to the park is bigger. Nice outing and glad I made it here as I had it on my list but I am glad I went when I did because in midsummer heat I am sure this park is super busy!

It was kind of a gloomy day, so fish weren't biting as often. About 2 hours later, we had caught 3 Trouts each. Getting the next 2 took a while longer, as I caught mine an hour and a half later to get my limit of 5. Dunno what factors caused the fish not to bite that regularly, but it was definitely a very slow day/evening fishing on the shore. Caught a couple of big ones, though. Nice sized fish...

The space here is huge and there's lots to see and do. There's an area with a playground for kids which is camp themed, and there's also different types of sport courts. The bathrooms are clean and well-maintained as well. There's also covered areas that you can rent which have basic grills that you can use for stuff like hotdogs and burgers. The water always seems pretty clean. I haven't swam in it but my siblings and kids have and it always seems fine. They aren't owned nor managed by a single company. The Bristol Apartments, for example, is owned by one investment company that is different than the empty towers and the Hyatt is a Hyatt property. It's a bit confusing if this review is for the neighborhood? Do we review neighborhoods now? And it is for all intents and purposes a neighborhood. There's one road in and one road out with the Hyatt, the Bristol, Tra, Peyrassol, the Seattle Family Center, Dock and Drink, and Water's Table filling out the portfolio. It is very pleasant with Coulon Beach Park next door and excellent viewing of fireworks when that resumes. With the parking garage there's plenty of parking though I cannot stress more than ever do not leave any valuables in sight in your vehicle. Southport may be isolated, but that isn't a deterrent for thieves. Personally I'd recommend parking where there's foot traffic since the upper levels are vacant I've only seen smashed out windows at those levels. And it is a pleasant place! In the summers it is busy. The water is so close and the views amazing. I love the four restaurants. It can get loud, and with the exception of a few incidents in 2020 due to people being angry about the mandates at the time it is a very safe space where families, dog walkers, and cute couples gather. Many a wedding takes place in the warmer months so it isn't uncommon to see beautiful gowns and fancy tuxedos, though I'm partial to the Indian weddings since the guests come in beautifully colored saris. There is a lot of diversity at the waterfront and that makes it a wonderful place to be. The winters can be busy too with Coulon Beach Park putting up lights for the holidays and Argosy cruises bringing the Christmas boats by. I always appreciate the carolers. I only wish people would acknowledge the road properly. Drivers ignore the speed limit signs, occasionally just stop in the middle street, or try to double park. Pedestrians often aren't much better because though there's a great sidewalk that connects the docks to the Bristol running up to Coulon Beach Park they'll just walk down the middle of the road like it's a bike path. I have seen a few close calls with pedestrians almost being hit because they're walking down the road instead of the sidewalk. It is a great area.
