The stage for Summer concert is Not well placed. The sun is in your eyes facing the stage. The live music was great. I did not know about the Shuttle from the Fire Station until I got there and had to park in the near by neighborhood illegally. There were signs stating No Parking there. But I knew since this st. and my car was hidden from Kent-Kangley Rd, it should be fine.

It's a park. On a lake. In a suburb. You can swim, BBQ, climb play structures, launch boats, and fish, but it's not advised to do them all at once.

Great Lake! I love the fact that they have the swim area roped off to depth. There is actual sand here and the water felt really nice!

This place is a gem in the city. It has a park, and a huge beach. Go early as it gets super crowded. Even on busy days you still have more than enough foom to swim and play. Also great for watching people on bathing suits and thinking "you forgot the rest of your bathing suit at home". I would recommend not swimming in the swim part as it can be dirty, go to the side beach in front of the play fround

The dock at Lake Meridian, Mount Rainier is your focal point...it's incredible in person!!

Lake Meridian Estates has been our home for the last 3 years while my husband was on a project in Seattle. Instead of renting a small 200 sf apartment for $1500.00 a month we opted to purchase a lake house for less. We've loved the area. Once you come off of 132nd & 256th you are away from the hustle & bustle. It's like a hidden oasis of private and quiet! The lake and dock is public, but if you reside in the park the dock is for you too. We never had an issue sharing the lake or dock...345 days of the year you're alone on the dock and the view is Mount Rainier! It's beautiful and serene. We are selling our beautiful home right down from the dock. Our lot is larger than most and private. Stop by and meet the Manager, Holly and if this is your cup of tea, drink it up while you can! 2 doors down from our place is a house on the lake (not in the Park) that sold (3 years ago) for $800K...honestly, you're in good company and the value of these little homes is only going up! Trader Joe's is just down the road off of 132nd, and Fred Meyer is close too. Walmart is down the other way towards Covington. Easy to get around to shopping the stores you need as well as Home Depot, coffee shops and drugstores. If you desire to boat or fish this is the place! Hubby used to watch the eagles fly above Lake Meridian while he sat at our breakfast bar with coffee...this place is quite special and so are the residents who reside within it!

Beautiful to hang out at the beach!

Beautiful place for just strolling and just enjoying what nature has to offer. Great for swimming, picnics, picture taking. And it doesn't even cost you anything.

This park is pretty nice. It has great views. Their are picnic tables, benches, a big parking lot, a playground, shelter area, ducks, and a beach. Would recommend this park and prob come back.

    I guess I shouldn't feed the ducks...

Great neighborhood local park that is open year round with a nice lake and picnic areas. There aren't very many tables and chairs to sit on but loads of grassy area to have a picnic on. There is a covered area where you can reserve and have parties. A dock area, which has a swimming area next to it. There's also a boat launch. I'm not familiar with the fees as I've never used it. There's a lighted path around the lake, which is great for a short and brisk walk. The children's area is usually busy. It's a wonderful playground area. I've only been through it when there are no kids around. So yeah, I'm a big kid at heart. Shhh... don't tell anyone. This place is perfect for a quick swim when it's warm out. I take my paddle board here from time to time and take off from the beach area. It's also quite relaxing to just sit on the grass and relax just to enjoy the weather. I've also floated in an inner tube on the lake. It does get windy here late afternoons. Motorized boats are allowed but the speed limit only goes to 35 mph. There are specific rules for jet skis / wave runners. So you may want to look those up before visiting the lake if that's your intended purpose. The park does get packed especially during a beautiful day. It can be difficult to find parking. There is a back entrance to the park, which is where the boat docks are located. If you drive down further on the street, you will see the parking lot for Soos Creek Trail on the right. That is an option to park if the lots get full at the lake. Oh.... as of August 11, 2016, there is a possible crocodile/alligator-like sighting. It supposedly poses no danger to the public. The geese are probably more aggressive. So have fun and enjoy!

It's a wonderful community destination because it's easy to reach, and both the park and lake are generally kept clean, attractive, and well maintained. Like many popular recreation areas, the lake can become quite busy on warm days and weekends, and occasionally some litter is left behind. What I appreciate is that by the next morning the area is often cleaned up again thanks to the hard work of park staff and community members who help keep the park looking its best. One of my favorite things about Steel Lake is that it is stocked with trout once or twice each year, providing great fishing opportunities throughout much of the season. Visitors come here to fish, swim, kayak, paddleboard, and enjoy boating, with only battery-powered motors permitted on the lake. Overall, Steel Lake is a fantastic local resource that offers something for everyone and remains one of the best places in the area to spend a relaxing day outdoors.

The best part is you can visit their website and you can check if the water is okay for the kids to play with . There's usually an update regarding if you can swim and such. The only thing I'm worried about is when there is no one there to facilitate the other kids swimming, because I noticed there were lots of kids who goes there without their parents or guardians. The cops do come around for their rounds sometimes, but not all the time . I always have my eyes on my kids because there were sooooooo many people and soo many kids during school break holidays and I can't even imagine summer break. If you want to entertain your kids for hours bring them here and just have a picnic and enjoy the sand with the kids. Don't forget the shovel and bucket though lol.

They aren't owned nor managed by a single company. The Bristol Apartments, for example, is owned by one investment company that is different than the empty towers and the Hyatt is a Hyatt property. It's a bit confusing if this review is for the neighborhood? Do we review neighborhoods now? And it is for all intents and purposes a neighborhood. There's one road in and one road out with the Hyatt, the Bristol, Tra, Peyrassol, the Seattle Family Center, Dock and Drink, and Water's Table filling out the portfolio. It is very pleasant with Coulon Beach Park next door and excellent viewing of fireworks when that resumes. With the parking garage there's plenty of parking though I cannot stress more than ever do not leave any valuables in sight in your vehicle. Southport may be isolated, but that isn't a deterrent for thieves. Personally I'd recommend parking where there's foot traffic since the upper levels are vacant I've only seen smashed out windows at those levels. And it is a pleasant place! In the summers it is busy. The water is so close and the views amazing. I love the four restaurants. It can get loud, and with the exception of a few incidents in 2020 due to people being angry about the mandates at the time it is a very safe space where families, dog walkers, and cute couples gather. Many a wedding takes place in the warmer months so it isn't uncommon to see beautiful gowns and fancy tuxedos, though I'm partial to the Indian weddings since the guests come in beautifully colored saris. There is a lot of diversity at the waterfront and that makes it a wonderful place to be. The winters can be busy too with Coulon Beach Park putting up lights for the holidays and Argosy cruises bringing the Christmas boats by. I always appreciate the carolers. I only wish people would acknowledge the road properly. Drivers ignore the speed limit signs, occasionally just stop in the middle street, or try to double park. Pedestrians often aren't much better because though there's a great sidewalk that connects the docks to the Bristol running up to Coulon Beach Park they'll just walk down the middle of the road like it's a bike path. I have seen a few close calls with pedestrians almost being hit because they're walking down the road instead of the sidewalk. It is a great area.
