So creepy. Lots of single men. I was walking down a trail and a guy was walking behind me with a big knife! He was ostensibly carving a stick but the stick was small and the knife was big and he was just walking down the trail whacking his knife into the stick over and over again. I was like, time to go! Beautiful green park with babbling brooks. I don't suggest the ladies go here alone the last time I was here walking my dog I had a strange man coming to the parking lot and I think he was just seeing if I was alone or not. This park goes into kind of a dead end in the back so I suggest you go in pairs . Great to bike ride, smooth concrete walkways , green hills for the kids to roll down. read more

It hurts me to leave a park anything less than a four... But it has to be done. Earthworks is sketch. As hell. It's in an awesome location, has lots of baby ducks, ponds, creeks, and a good sized area to walk around, but it's sooo grody. Some times I've gone and it's been okay, other times (like today) I've gone, and there's creepy ass guys littering the park, a guy passed out in the grass, and garbage everywhere. It makes me sad! This park has a lot of potential to be an awesome spot for families and people walking their dogs and such, but right now it's just a hit or miss. read more

I like this place. Neat hills and lil ponds. Trails to walk down as well. If you have a dog they seem to love it here. Many cool breeds always here. Winter time, when it snowed, the kids in the neighborhood brought out sleds and had a blast going down the massive steep hills. So nice to see and hear children scream and play with laughter instead of staying indoors playing video games. read more

My dog would happily spend all day in this park (WHY?!!?), but I kind of really hate it. On the surface it seems fine. It's pretty much all grass where you can frolic to your heart's content, there's a pond which is usually a great place to see ducklings, and there's a stage that probably hasn't been used in forever. Normal park, right? In the back area of the park there's a dirt pathway. In the 90s it was a really awesome little get away in the city where you could play around the little creek that runs though and the trail went a very long way. These days it's a homeless camp. The area near the parking lot is fine, but if you go turn around once you get to the pond!! read more

Earthworks is a 107 acre public park in Kent which Mill Creek flows through. There are paved trails, a restroom, and an amphitheater. Apparently the 'Earthworks' were designed by an internationally-renowed modern artist in 1982 and the park has been designated a city landmark. Personally, I think its a soggy, trash-strewn swamp with a smelly, semi-operational restroom facility (the urinal doesn't flush, no door to the stall, no soap, faucet doesn't work right...). When its sunny out, though, the Teletubbie-esque landscape is kinda neat. read more

Typical suburban park in the greater King County area. You will be lured in by the scenic rolling mounds and winding passages around streams and man made wetlands, but when you start to dig deeper you will see it has problems with trash, homeless people camping, drinking, and shooting up in the darker corners. I've seen numerous small time drug deals go down here, but it is still relatively safe. I wouldn't go too deep into the woods in the area. There appears to be an outdoor seating area in the back that was probably abandoned because of maintenance costs. I won't even dare use the bathrooms because it is a short walk to a store with less scary prospects. Overall, still a good place for a morning stroll. Most things are still hung over and immobilized for the first few hours of the day. Wildlife is hit or miss in this area. They are probably just hiding from all of us. read more

The Earthworks portion of the park is nice, and great for a short walk. If the entire park were like the bottom, it would rate a 4 or 5. Alas, not the case. I headed up trail and soon ran into several homeless encampments. (Don't get me wrong; residents were friendly.) And litter and trash all over. It would have been a nice walk; but I'm always a bit uncomfortable when I'm passing thru someone's front yard (figuratively speaking). There are also several half-finished projects that it looks like the City of Kent began and then abandoned the work. All in all; I'll come back for a short walk ( or to run the dog). But there's not much else to draw me back. read more

This odd, yet unique park is fairly close to my boyfriend's house, so we walk here all the time to fly kites, enjoy the sun, or just get out of the house. I like it. The landscape of the park is quite strange - lots of ups and downs, twists and turns. There are paved trails that wander through the park and end up at a an oddly placed little amphitheater, stage and "seats" made of wood. There is a small little round pond type thing that the ducks seem to enjoy. Yeah, it isn't always the cleanest (we've found garbage, drug baggies, you name it here) and I probably wouldn't want to walk around here much at night, but it's a nice little park and a welcomed part of the neighborhood. read more

This park is great! It is nicely maintained. I like that it is spread out and there are different areas to enjoy. I sat on a little wooden bridge and had lunch in the sun. It was great. I kicked back and read a bit in the sun. Cute little park. Glad I looked it up on yelp and spent some time here :) read more

I've always thought that this park was in a weird place. The trail leads you to an amphitheater that I've harder ever seen used. Most of this park is in deep forest so you can't even use it. Weird park but not BAD. Simply, 2 stars = "Meh. I've experienced better." read more

I went to this area yesterday and i actually really liked it. There are some ups and downs to this park but overall my walk with my dog and friends was very enjoyable and the visitors at the park were friendly enough to chat with. So let's start out on the size. This is a small size park but it is a very long park. Instead of normal parks with a wide area to explore, most of your walking involves you taking a linear path forward and then back the same way you came. Nothing wraps around. There use to be two parking areas but the one on the busy street is closed off. However the sign and parking still remain but the walkway is boarded up, probably because it's dangerous to park there and dangerous to walk down old wooden stairs. The only parking lot functioning is kind of small but you'll be able to find a parking spot pretty easily since there is not that many people here all at once. (Unless you're playing Pokemon GO then people are flocking here because there is about 5 pokestops here and a gym, You're welcome pokefans). The park has only a few main features to it. One is a big circle pond that i was told use to have a fountain going but now it's just still water that could be dangerous so don't let your small children near it. (Or kids who don't know better for that matter since it seems like the age of using your brain keeps getting pushed up higher). But once you get in the back, there is a wonderful small pond that has a stream flowing through it and the stream carries down for the majority of the park. This is by far the best area and feature of the park. And there are plenty of places to sit down and relax. Then you have this weird donut looking grass hill that is in the middle of the park that you can walk through, not to mention the big grassy area right next to the parking lot that has one small hill in the middle of it. It's good for rolling down or having picnics or events like frizz bee. It is seriously a HUGE grassy field. Then in the back you have a little stage and stands. This feature you can find at other older parks around King County like at Kelsey Creek Farm. But sadly this one isn't well taken care of. Graffiti ruins this spot along with some stupid person not putting out their cig and setting 3 wooden boards on fire. The structure is solid but there are 3 small holes in one part of the stage. Behind the stage however there is a small opening to the creek that is very relaxing. And then there is the trail that use to go further back into the creek but BE WARNED DO NOT GO THERE! Sadly homeless people are living there and have trashed and i mean TRASHED the place. There was a bright Orange tent there today. I wanted to go down to the creek and then i spotted it and turned around. I felt bad that they had no where else to go but sad to see them trashing a public park. There is a tall bridge that use to connect with the 2nd parking lot next to the road and under it, you can see how the homeless people have trashed the place. I am sad the city doesn't clean it up or fix their fountain that has still water in it, but they did mow the place recently and it looked well kept in areas. Overall if the CITY actually took the time to deal with the homeless problem, Graffiti, the trash and the still water fountain, this park could of been a hidden gem with more people stopping by. I personally liked it so that is why i'm giving it 3.5/5 but since yelp doesn't do half ratings, 4/5 it is because my walk was super enjoyable and relaxing. This place is also great for dogs & has a dog waste station. The place is surrounded by heavy vegetation so it's worth stopping by and checking it out for yourself. read more

This park is definitely small, but it's rather pretty. There's a small parking lot at the start of the park and it goes back to a pond and a wooden gazebo type structure, and that's about where it ends. I often see people walking their dogs here or bringing their kids, which I think is just about all this park is good for due to its size. In the warmer months, there's tons of ducks out and lots of people show up to feed them. Only downside to this park is I'm not sure how safe it is - I've seen several homeless individuals who don't really seem to know what they're doing or where they're at roaming the park, along with discarded alcohol bottles, and plenty of graffiti decorating the park. Not to say "don't visit," but definitely be wary of your surroundings while at Earthworks. read more

The park's entrance is always very well-kept, lots of ducks and geese to watch (but please DON'T feed them...) and the park has bathrooms, which is nice. I've had many-a picnic on the rolling hills. The lower areas get very gooshy in the rainy seasons, though. And if you're walking dogs, watch out for bread left out by the ponds. (Bread is bad for any critter that comes by it, but that's a whole other rant.) Anyway, it's a nice park to get away from annoying city sounds. The streams and forests are nice. read more

The park has two sections. Earthworks, the front cut grass area which most people know about and Mill Creek Canyon, where there are some challenging trails to hike. Yes, there are muddy areas along the trial, but if you want a good hiking workout this is the place to go.
