One afternoon I saw a truck of guys ride into the senior parking lot holding guns. Wheeler High school is often pronounced 'WILLER HI'. On their announcement board that sits in front of the school it currently says that they were just ranked in the top 5% of all national high schools by Newsweek. I wonder how many schools are in the top 5% of all national high schools. I had some memorable teachers here. Mr Carter Ms Taaffe Ms Carter Ms Frazer. I felt like I got a good learnin' here even though I slept through a lot of my classes. High school. I have never witnessed such school pride; from the youngest toddler to the oldest senior getting ready to move on to college. The emphasis is on developing the entire character, not just churning out the next einstein. Strong both academically and athletically, HIES is a fabulous alternative to the other more obvious schools in town.
