I recently started going to Clarke Animal Hospital. We had to make the difficult decision to put one of our elderly dogs down and the staff couldn't have been more compassionate. Not once did they try to push treatment on him. They made some suggestions on treatment, but due to his age and what was his current situation, it would have given him a longer life, however, the quality would have been poor (daily meds/monthly blood tests/etc). Never once did they suggest putting him down, however after calling around and getting more opinions, we decided it was in his best interest to put him down. It was one of the hardest decisions we have ever had to make, and every staff member was amazing. Since then I have had to take our younger dog in an emergency situation on a Saturday morning (Seizures on a 100 pound dog, not a fun thing to experience). They got him in immediately, did not charge an emergency fee, discussed tests/treatment and made us feel like we had some control of a situation where we had no control. They even did a follow up call Monday morning to check up on him, and answered all my questions. When I called again on Tuesday to ask yet more questions, everyone was so helpful and understanding and never acted like I was a bother. Each time I am in the office, or speak with them, I am more firm in my decision to take my fur babies to them. Between the way they treat me and my animals, and they way they treat other patients (that I saw in the office and heard them on the phone), I will NEVER hesitate to bring my animal to this veterinarian, and will recommend them to everyone. I LOVE this vet clinic!! I have been to many others with my two dogs, Sammy and Cooper, before coming here, and I am SO happy I made the switch!! The staff is wonderful, the vets are awesome and very skilled/knowledgeable, and one of the biggest benefits is that its extremely easy to make appointments (even last minute or emergency appointments) as there are 6 vets on staff. Once you find your favorite, you can simply request to see that vet for regular checkups. Another thing I appreciate is that the vet-techs don't readily give treats, and for anyone who has a dog with food allergies, this is a blessing. It's normally a little difficult to keep every single vet-tech or receptionist from giving treats during checkups, but at Clark Vet, this is not a problem. I am very pleased with the care my guinea pigs have received. Took one in because of a lump in her cheek. They took a sample (I could hear the wheeling!) They brought her back to me along with her medication. My second one was just for an all over check up and to have her nails clipped. We usually do it ourselves but she is a rescue and the previous owner did not take care of them and they were curved to the side. Gave us a good start and we should be able to keep them from curling as long we stay on it. The entire staff has been very nice from receptionist to vet. Highly recommend. read more

I am very happy with the care my dogs receive at Clarke Animal Clinic. My Vet has a very common sense approach as to to how keep my animals happy and healthy. He gives me options and choices in the care of my dogs. I never feel pressured to spend more than I am comfortable with. I have had many different scenarios with my dogs, from them eating poisonous mushrooms, multiple times, to aged dogs who have passed away. My Vet, Dr. Harden has always been right there to help in any way he could. I would never take my dogs anywhere else. read more

I love taking my dog here. She ended up having a bad tooth from chewing on something she shouldnt of. Her whole check was swelled up. Called around town, some weren't taking new patients and one I called was very rude. Took a chance with clarke. Best decision I've ever made. Everyone is so nice. Made me and my dog very comfortable. My dog had emergency surgery and they called me to let me know how she was doing after. Still going for her after care and her routine visits. Will be taking me other dog there as well. Our female cat age six recently needed to have five teeth extracted due to the tooth being absorbed into the gum (not uncommon for cats). They explained everything to us and printed out a quote beforehand. she had anesthesia and was given pain pills for the next three days. She did as well as one could expect. Today is day four and she is much better. Dr. Zimmerman took care of her as if she was her own cat. Highly recommend Clarke. We have taken all of our animals there. I wouldn't take my "5" friends anywhere else. Have been going to Clarke ever since the late 1970's when I was living in North Muskegon. Quite a drive but it was worth it. ALL of the vets and the rest of the staff are knowledgeable and compassionate. I know they are looking out for my well being as well as my pets. Some say they are expensive but I disagree. I want only the best for my furry friends and they get it at Clarke! read more

The staff was amazing - while on vacation our dog developed a severe ear infection and needed to be seen that day. Clarke was so wonderful about getting us in for an emergency appointment. They took the best care of our girl - the staff was so kind and friendly to us and to her. If we were locals, we would absolutely use Clarke for our regular veterinary needs. When caling around with an emergency for my puppy everyone was booked, even them but they made room for her anyways. Once i got there they were so comforting and made me feel like they really cared even after I told them I only had so much money at that time. Even called after I left to check on her. Would definitely recommend them. They went way out of their way when everyone else couldn't help. read more

They are very good at keeping me informed at what they are doing and answering any questions I have. They make sure I know that they have my dogs best interest at heart and give me different options on how about to do that. Love the paw plan so I save money and give them best care I can. The whole animal hospital staff are so friendly and know my dogs when we come in, wouldn't go anywhere else. read more

I have always been completely satisfied with the care my pets have received at Clarke's. We experienced such passionate gestures when we had to put our beloved cat of 18 years to sleep. Our young Pitbull was struck by a car and we brought him to Clarke Animal Hospital with no phone call and without them being our regular vet. Our boy was seen immediately by caring, concerned professionals who helped us (as much as him) during this stressful experience. Highly recommend this practice! read more

we LOVE Clarke! The office girls are amazingly sweet, and the doctors top notch. We used them over 15 years ago with our other dog, then left to go elsewhere because I thought their prices were too high.
