Clark Termite handled our account very poorly. They provided the initial termite bond through our builder but never followed up for over a year and a half. Out of nowhere, a representative showed up unannounced, pressured my wife to sign a renewal service order, and when she said she needed to speak with me first, he began removing the termite bonds from our property. Completely unprofessional and intrusive behavior -- we will not be renewing or doing business with this company again. read more

We have used Clarks for over ten years for termite / quarterly service and recently had to move to another company. We were quoted installation of a new termite system and the work was approved. My wife could not get them to schedule and then Clarks placed our account on credit hold for work not completed. Clarks is billing customers ahead of work that has not been completed or scheduled and expecting payment. I assume the company was purchased and changes occurred that they think this is a good business model. Either way, we moved on and I suggest if you are considering pest control company you look past Clarks. Scheduling and Billing are the worst. 0 stars would be a better rating read more

Columbia SC Update - I did hear back from the area manager at Clarks and they determined that my reimbursement claim was valid, so they did reimburse me for the repair costs that I had incurred. They also treated for the termites, so I feel that they came back made things right. Original - I recently had an issue where I thought my toilet was leaking, so I had a contrator come out and tear my bathroom apart only to find active termites under my floor. He fixed the floors and put my bathroom back together while I called Clarks office about the termites. Now I'm being told that the money I paid to have my bathroom torn apart and put back together won't be reimbursed since I didn't call Clarks to begin with and use their contractors. Only, how did I know the termites were there without having the contractor tear up the floors??? This is absurd and I'm extremely unhappy. I would like to warn anyone using Clarks about this shady business. read more

They must have sprayed sugar water around the house because the ants are worse than ever. Plus, I've now seen a cockroach and centipedes. They were supposed to get rid of a wasps nest, but "forgot" so I called them back to tell them about that and the increase in bugs. They took care of the wasps with a "complementary visit", but told me I needed a service to spray the inside again. First they forgot to send the contract, then they sent it and I couldn't open it. I finally got my first bill from them telling me payment is overdue (it can't be overdue if I never received a request for payment). So I'll pay the insanely expensive $195 one-time visit for sugar water because they did come back to remove the wasps nest, but now I need to find a serious exterminator to get rid of the bugs inside my house. The billing department is a nightmare. When the company was merged/sold to an out-of-state business, they arbitrarily put everyone on a monthly billing system with an interest rate of 18% over the balance, and a 1.8% penalty monthly if not paid on time. NOT A WORD to customers about these changes, and suspect annual fee also went up, disguised in their mandatory monthly installments. I had a termite inspection in March of 2024. Im receiving emails and phone calls saying that my inspection is due by the end of October 2024. I called and explained to the representative that my termite inspection was done. Her response to me was that was for 2023. I asked to have a supervisor give me a call to explain to me which I'm still waiting on as to why I need another inspection in 2024. read more

A year ago they performed my termite inspection and billed me an exorbitant amount over my contract from previous owner with no notice to me. This year I called to confirm what I would be billed and was given an amount close to my contract, then received and email stating $60 more than what I was told, plus they want to retreat and put me on a monthly billing of $65 over my contract rate. We have used Clark's for 22 years, since they treated our lot and initial foundation to prevent termites. Everything went smoothly until the last year or so, when (I assume?) the company was absorbed by a larger organization. Since that time, they have raised their prices significantly, their billing practices have deteriorated, and customer service has eroded. I'm now looking for an alternative. read more

The service is fine, no different from any other pest control company I have used. The problem is that they have a new owner and the billing issues have been awful!! They auto draft for services that I did not agree to have in auto drafted. The representatives have been pleasant to speak with but problem persisted after 3 calls and the only solution was an apology. I am planning to switch companies. read more

Terrible company. Service nose dived with new owner. They lied about providing last service while we were out of town. They could not have accessed the yard as it was locked. Also, we discovered that all the termite stations were empty of bait and that they had not been servicing for at least the last three years. When we contacted the manager they offered no response. We've had an ongoing ant issue inside our house that we've been working to address and today we noticed it was worse. Called on a Saturday just to leave a message , knowing they weren't open on weekends. They called me right back and scheduled my service. Super nice and accommodating. The technician was very courteous and professional. Saw a few more roaches initially like they said. It's been perfect since then. Very reasonably priced.Would highly recommend. read more

Clark's was a good company until it was purchased. Service changed when long time employees started to leave. I changed to a new company for my pest control and Clark's sent me an email last week that they were coming to get the bait system. I said fine. My new service came today and replaced the old bait system with a new one. The put Clark's system in a bag for them to pick up. One hour later my wife noticed someone in out yard. She went to see and the Clark's guy was removing our new bait system. There was no email, text, call, or a knock on the door to let us know there were coming. I can not believe any reputable company would walk around my house without notification. I do not and will not recommend this company. read more

Wow! Did this place prove me wrong. We were extremely upset with customer service when they showed up late with no notice quite a few months back. Not only did they call and offer us a free service, but, they called back again recently when we had not taken them up on the offer. They came out today and did an amazing job! I called Clark's yesterday and they came out first thing in the morning today. I also received a courtesy call from the technician (Patrick Martin) last night. He introduced himself and was very friendly. He confirmed the appointment (from 10-12) and asked me about the problem I've been having. He showed up at exactly 10 am today and thoroughly inspected all the problem areas. He was very honest and did not try to sell me an expensive product I didn't need. He was extremely knowledgeable and gave me lots of advice and options on what I should do. And their prices are a lot cheaper than other places in the area. In violation of town noise ordinances, Clark's lawn service started in on my neighbor's yard before 8 am. I was home sick and the noise was not restful to say the least. I have had a very bad experience with Clark's. They came to my home about 2 weeks ago. I though the representative was honest, friendly, helpful. He gave me an estimate and i asked him to put it in writing. I told him that i had to deal with problem as soon as possible. The guy promised to email me. He never did that. I called him back 3 times, asked his colleagues who was in my neighborhood to have him call me, etc. He has not returned my call. The customer service here is horrible. The girl that answers the phone, schedules appointments, etc. is rude. I thought the first time this happened maybe she was having a bad day, but every time you call the office you get the same horrible treatment. When asked to come out and retreat the bug spray because the bugs were still appearing she said they don't retreat. All other bug companies do this service. We have switched our monthly bug spray company and glad we did. However, Clark's is still doing our termite treatment so I guess I will just have to deal with this rude girl once a year. I had a bond since 2012, found out I had water damage 2016. I thought that their annual inspections were suppose to check for termites, moisture & water damage. We found the water damage not Clarks Termites. I was told by employee of the company in the contract they only look for TERMITES not Water Damage. Why do a moister check? Clarks came out 3 week prior to closing on my house and wrote on the order that everything was ok. I then needed a termite letter to close the house and low and behold they found that there was too much moisture under the house and wanted to charge an exorbitant amount of money for a vapor barrier under the house when 3 weeks prior everything was fine. Got another company to install a vapor barrier under the house for half the price with a reliable company. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. read more

While the technicians that finally do come out when they say they are, the work they do is exceptional. My mother (who is 87 years old) was grateful for how kind they were. However, the billing department has much to be desired. They keep sending invoices for payment which go to my mothers house (all has been paid) which upsets her very much. I have made several calls and have been promised that it has been taken care of, and there comes another bill. Personally, I would never recommend them.
