We've had normal spider issues over the years, which have never bothered us before, but suddenly had brown widows popping up everywhere. While they're easy to avoid/kill for an adult... I have 3 kids and 2 dogs so I couldn't risk it and had to be sure that they wouldn't be a problem. I decided to call Lamp's at that point because they came highly recommended. Rick was great and worked with our schedule even when we had last minute changes. He came on time and was extremely thorough. Knowing that it was a widow issue he made sure to go the extra mile and sprayed additional areas outside of the perimeter we were paying for. I felt obliged to post a review as the only other one on here is very negative. Frankly, after meeting Rick, there's no way that the other post is based entirely in fact. I shopped around a bit for pest control to find the best pricing and timely service I could get in the Lexington area. Rick's initial treatment and subsequent quarterly costs were in the ballpark with other pest control outfits. AND, Rick offered to come out the next day - other guys were gonna be more than a week. Rick showed up when I was home and was extremely outgoing and friendly. I asked him a lot of questions and he happily answered them all to my satisfaction. He then spent a good deal of time providing the actual service. I called him within a week after the treatment about a miscellaneous additional complaint - we have a lot of spider's on our dock by the lake. While this was not something we had paid him to handle when he came out, he actually showed up the next day and treated the area for free! He went way above and beyond. Same day service with a smile. God has blessed us over the past year and one of those blessings came today when Rick came to our home. We discussed the issues with my home (too numerous to dictate) and then did an initial treatment. My wife and I have neglected the pest issues in our home for almost a year since my incident at work has disabled me. Rick was able to solve our problems, teach my son and I what to look for and how to prevent further issues, and then put us on a reasonable quarterly treatment program. Wouldn't recommend to anyone! made several calls with no returned calls until after I I was upset with paying for something that was ineffective. Of course there was no issue when it came to taking my money. Called to cancel service after I moved and was still charged, was then told that I wouldn't be refunded, although I was no longer at the serviced address. Explained every possible course of action to us to resolve our ant insurgency, and after explaining the benefits of all, told us which he felt would be the best in the long run. USE SOMEONE ELSE. This guy promises everything, and provides nothing. He charged me an arm and leg to ged rid of some mice- really small job in my mind. Was promised he would do "whatever necessary" to get rid of them. He came over a couple of times and put out some traps and some poison- something you can do yourself for $20 bucks at a grocery store. I told him where I thought they we coming from, and he said I would have to pay even more to get rid of them. I then decided to pay my construction guy $100 bucks and he ripped apart my kitchen cabinets and got rid of the mice nests, and did a bunch more to make sure they dont come back. Rick on the other hand charged me WAY more then $100 and did nothing I couldnt do myself. Rick also prides himself on "not being the cheapest guy", which if youre not the cheapest guy, you would at least expect him to get his hands dirty. AND he wants to be paid in cahs upfront...now I know why. Definitely shop around! read more
