We called, and they were out here the next morning. My husband spoke with Travis and told him everything that was going on and he sent Mike the technician out (I do believe that was his name) he quickly came to the conclusion it was our well pump that went bad even though it was only just over 3 years old. Due to them being so busy they weren't able to come same day due to not having a truck but assured my husband that they'd be out bright and early the next day. ABSOUTELY kept their word!! Joey was the well technician who was on site and going to be replacing the pump. Very nice, informative and let us know all of our options going forward. Answered all of our questions. Being new to the area you live and learn who is the quality companies. For sure this will be our well/septic company going forward here in WNC. :) We appreciate everyone we spoke with for being prompt, informative and just great TRUTHFUL people!!!! Gold Star! They actually came out twice. The second time they charged $100 to give me a quote. They quoted me $6000 to $8000, a lot of that charge would be to replace the wiring. I got it done by Franklin Brothers for $4300 with no extra charges and was told my wiring was fine. Franlin Brother is a great family owned buiness and has been in business for yearrs. A-1 is all about the money. Use them if you want to spend an extra couple grand!

If you have the time, you'll do well to shop your job around as I suspect Caldwell will be the high bidder by a wide margin. 828 Electric was recommended by neighbors on NextDoor with almost all mentioning Joel, the owner…read more Joel sent a guy named Michael to my house to do the quote. I showed him around the house and talked to him about my wiring needs for every room except the kitchen, which had been done by a licensed electrician a year earlier as part of a kitchen remodel. As we walked around the house, he said he was going to rewire the kitchen, even though it had already been done. He didn't really give a reason. I took him to the crawlspace after that where he discovered some questionable wiring. A week and a half passed and still no quote was sent to me so I contacted Joel and 2 to 3 days later spoke with Michael, who called me to say he would have it the next day but it ended up coming a few days later. The quote was at the high end and just a lump sum with very little detail. I responded a few days later with an email asking for detail and a breakout of the kitchen that I didn't want to pay for twice but didn't hear from him again until the following week. Communication was very poor. Because I was new to the area I posted on the NextDoor app asking people if not receiving any detail with a quote was a common occurrence for Western NC. Many people responded that it was not and that they wouldn't accept a quote like that (I did not mention 828 electric in my post). When Michael finally called me after days had passed once again, he stated that providing a lump sum without detailed parts and labor was the way they did things, and no one had ever asked him for more detail (apparently I was the first in all the years they'd been in business). I found that hard to believe but didn't really know what to say. He said that he wanted to rewire the kitchen because of the questionable wiring in the crawlspace but when he told me he was including the kitchen in his quote, he hadn't yet seen the questionable wiring so that was patently not true. He continued the call in a this is "my way or the highway" tone instead of looking for a middle ground regarding detail. Of course I didn't use them and I would not recommend this company to anyone.
