I strongly caution anyone considering Clarkston Roofing. Our experience with this company--and its owner, Tony--was deeply disappointing and frustrating. They failed to complete the job, leaving parts of our home exposed to the weather for two full months. We hired Clarkston Roofing to re-roof our home and install aluminum siding on 10 windows. The salesperson recommended adding five roof vents ("roof cans"), which we agreed to. When the crew completed the roofing, I noticed they hadn't installed the extra vents. Only after I pointed it out did they correct the oversight. That alone raised red flags about their attention to detail. The real trouble started with the aluminum window siding. When I showed Tony how poorly it was done, he admitted it wasn't up to his standard and promised to "get his best siding guy on it." That was on May 12th. It's now July 12th--two months later--and no one has returned to complete the work. Meanwhile, our windows remain exposed. I had to repeatedly call Tony week after week, only to hear excuses like, "He's on a big job, he'll be there next week." Every promise turned out to be empty. The lack of follow-through and professionalism has been appalling. I paid in full the roofing portion, in cash, trusting that they would honor the agreement and deliver the rest of the work on our signed purchase order agreement. I didn't haggle or delay payment, trying to support the crew and show good faith. That was a big mistake--they took the money and never came back. From the quoting to the final inspection, Tony has been very professional. I signed a contract with this company on August 9, 2020. They said they would have my house and barn complete by November 2020. it is now November 2021 and neither are done. They had half of the house done and ran out of material and had to wait for material. In the mean time, where they had taken off the old material, the roof leaked and ruined my new drywall in my kitchen. I feel like crying because they treat me like my job is unimportant. They come late in the afternoon to work or not at all. So frustrated. read more

I contacted Josh in the Fall about my roof. He was very professional on the phone, and I knew right away that I was very comfortable by the way the conversation went. He called me an hour before our scheduled appointment to say that he was on his way. When we sat down and talked, he explained the whole process on how the insurance company worked and answered my questions for half hour. We ended up contacting another roofing company prior and they ended up being $5,750 over. Josh and Tony contacted me during installation and after to make sure I was satisfied with everything and if I had any questions. Josh and Tony not only said what they were going to do but they did it ahead of schedule and cleaned up everything in my yard as well. They even walked around my entire yard, not just the perimeter with their magnetic strip looking for nails because I have small children. They also gave my dog water when he was outside, so that was a bonus for me. I have recommended them to all my friends and family because they not only took care of my roof, but also had my kids and dog in mind. At the end of the day, what more could you ask for? read more

Both co-owner Tony and Josh were so incompetent and unprofessional. This is my first time and will be the last time with these two guys. After a polite phone conversation about my need for a roof service. I agreed to let Josh and Tony to look at my damage on my roof. Then it got worst from that point on. Josh was on my roof without any notification or my permission in late August morning that woke up my 14 years old boy while sleeping in his room. He called me frantically "Dad, someone is on our roof". I calm him down and asked him to give me 1 minute to make a 911 call. I ended up call Josh and he admitted that he is on my roof without my consent. So I let it go!!! bad mistake on my part.... I agreed to have these guys replace my roof because my insurance is covered 100% due to wind damage. In September, his roofing contracting crew came to my house and replaced the roof. I am satisfied with the roof job except my landscaping light. They removed and put back all my solar landscaping lights. Nearly 50% of these lights were damage. I lost nearly half of my landscaping solar light now. The dumpster was on my driveway and blocking my garage 2-3 days more than what was promised. The extra singles and pallet were left on my driveway for weeks after the job was completed and my family and I have to put them in the trash. We did not see either Josh or Tony during or after the roof was replaced. We did not get a call regarding getting together to close out the project. And then, Around 8:00PM at night on 12/12/17, It was dark outside and I was not at home. My children and my wife heard numerous doorbell ringing at my front door. My daughter look through our bathroom window and saw a white truck in my drive way. A few seconds after that , heavy kicking and pounding at my front door started and we felt that someone was going to break down my front door. My wife and children were panic. My wife called 911. While waiting for the police officers to come, My wife looked outside and saw the white truck got out of my driveway and parked in front of the house with his headlights on. When the police came, he was questioned. Come to find out, he was from the roofing company, needing our signature for a check from the insurance. We never got a call or text from him to arrange time to come out to see us. I find his behavior unprofessional and un call for. What company works this way? He scared my wife and children. I also filed a complaint with Michigan State Better Business Bureau Agency (BBB) Bottom line - DO NOT LET CLARKSTON ROOFING PROFESSIONAL WORK ON YOUR ROOF OR ANY HOME PROJECTS UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE BULLY.
