But the highlight was actually landing on Tower Butte. This was truly a once in a lifetime experience. We were able to get tons of pictures and video. Personally I don't have the patience or the butt for a pack mule train, and this allows you to see most of the highlighted nooks and crannies through this part of the Colorado River --- the North Rim, Zuni Point, Desert View, Dragon Head. The pilot will even circle around the landing where Thelma and Louise supposedly took their final drive. A pretty standard audio tape narration is given on headphones. The plane is light, so expect some turbulence throughout the flight. On the plus side, it's not as loud as a helicopter. The airport itself is just a few miles south of the southern entrance to the park just outside of Tusayan where most of the motor lodges and chain hotels are. I have to say that this may be your best photo opportunity to capture the majesty of the canyon, and try to catch the last flight at 5PM in order to get a better angle of the sun moving to the West.

The receptionist can't/won't do anything regarding check-in and just tells you to check your booking.com messages (we booked through Priceline and they couldn't figure out or tell us anything). 3. Called their phone number and told them about our experience. Their explanation was that sometimes roaches crawl up from the sewer and enter the rooms, and its a problem all over Page. But not to worry! They assured me they aren't the dirty kind of roaches. I asked that they provide a refund and I have yet to hear back. Your better off just skipping this one.

We only had about a dozen in our group - we went at 1 PM. We were told to go earlier but the size of our group was smaller because we waited and the colors were still pink amazing. There are some pretty steep steps to climb down in the beginning but don't let those deter you. Just go slow - it's worth it!

Nevan, our professional and friendly guide was so knowledgeable about these earthly sculptures and quite the skilled photographer as he took pictures of all the guests individually in various rooms of this magical tour. Cost was $86.00 and up depending on which tour you want to do with a minimal wait to go down into these spectacularly sculptured colored walls. There is a gift shop and cafe you can grab a cold beverage and a bite of food that is worth visiting. *NOTE* You must check in 30 minutes prior to your tour time AND you can only bring a water bottle and a camera/cellphone . Put your keys in your pocket and leave everything else in your car. Wear shoes you can walk through sand to get to site and that you can climb down and up ladders. This is a very busy tour but well worth it. The tour is on Navajo Tribal lands so please respect the land and those that work this tour and even more so when it's hot out.
