Getting my hair cut before Christmas while visiting family, went to this local place without researching, and got one of the best haircuts of my life. Saw this as a Groupon deal and decided to try it out. It was a treat for my boyfriend with the hot shave and facial. Mel was super nice and attentive. I was nervous going to a barbershop with him as I thought it would be a bunch of loud men bantering. What the polar opposite. Very professional space and beautifully decorated. The wood accents make the place feel classy, warm and clean. I was actually jealous seeing my boyfriend get the facial and hot towel treatment. I wish salons did this for female clients lol. He answered all of our questions and took his time with every step. Since cutting his man bun and never going to the barbershop for years, I think my boyfriend has found his new spot! read more

I was in town for a work conference and needed a quick cut and shape up, Mel was amazingly helpful and extremely courteous, I am very happy with the services I received. Only place in Yonkers I trust to do my hair. The atmosphere in there is authentic and brings you a modern/50s vibe. Never had a bad haircut here but one of the barbers has a case of sloppy hands and slices you up a bit more than they should but I trust them all enough to rotate on barbers and they are understanding with specific instructions. read more

I've brought my boys here several times already and I am always pleased with their cuts. Mel is always ready and willing to tame the boys mane :) His professionalism and cordiality is not to be overlooked. Went in for a regular trim and tape up before a big wedding and left with my hair chopped in different lengths that even from a distance you see it's uneven and a taper with two different lengths on both sides and different heights. The haircut looks like some one tried to cut hair for the first time at home and went scissor happy. after waiting for two hours and getting the worst haircut ever I would never recommend this place, you can pay the same at another barber shop and get your moneys worth. I gave them a chance to fix it and it came out even worse, he tried to blame it on me not being specific on what i want, i have gotten the same style haircut for 6 years and never had a issue with any other barber i give the same simple instructions on my haircut "trim one inch from the top because I want to continue growing it and a taper" not sure how specific I have to be. I didn't even want the refund I left because i told him and he stood there lost like I'm the issue and I immediately went to another barber shop and in the barbers exact words " you did this yourself?". Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else and especially don't go to the older man in the corner, nice man but a horrible barber. read more

Mel is a great barber ! Takes pride in his work and always gives 100% in every cut. The place is very clean and maintained which is a plus and should be a priority in a barbershop. Mel doesn't rush in giving a haircut like other barbershops do. He pays attention to detail and has you looking fresh and clean. There's not one time I've gone and been disappointed. I found this place by chance. I was in town for a meeting and needed a quick hair cut so driving around I saw this place stopped in, was greeted with enthusiasm and a smile, the gentleman had me seated and in ten minutes I was on the cutting chair. Came here a few weeks ago to try out this new barbershop as I attend school around the area. First guy was alright. Nothing special. Second time, a different guy cut my hair. I needed a haircut for my graduating ball. So disappointed. Asked for a simple skin fade and a combover and was left with a noticeable dent in my hair. In the beginning he just cut a big section of my hair with a pair of scissors and now the top of my head is uneven. He blamed it on the shape of my head but that was never a problem with my usual barber. I am now considering cutting it all off to fix the mess these people have made with my hair. Never coming back. I learned my lesson. Never cheat on your original barber, even if that means driving a couple hours away for one haircut. read more
